June 14th, 7:30 a.m. Arrived at Bellvale. Nina Mariano's house. Currently being choked by Evandra Steele.

"Never overthrow the government ever again. Not without me."

"Technically, you were there." Rami grinned. "Get it? Technical? Because you were with us technologically wise?" He waves his hand dismissively.

As soon as we rang the doorbell and the door opened, I was pulled in Eva's very tight embrace. Nina had cooked food for only herself and her fiance, but the boys selfishly ate most of it. "Yeah, dig in." The woman says with an eye roll, though she was clearly happy to see us again. "Eva can finally stop worrying about you three and now start worrying about our wedding." She smiled at Eva.

"Oh. That reminds me." I pulled away from her embrace and pouted at the two women. "Who was the one who proposed? How? Who cried first? When's the wedding, where is it going to be, and are you going to have a chocolate fountain?"

Eva just hugged me again. "Oh, I really missed you."

"Don't avoid my questions, old woman."

Nina snickered. "I cannot wait to hear your Maid of Honor speech."

I let out a strangled noise. "MAID OF HONOR?" I think I'm going to faint. And for a good reason this time. "Yes! I have so much things to stay about the two of you! So much embarrassing stories."

Eva brought me to the kitchen and sat down on a chair across Rami. Nina took the seat beside her while I sat next to my hungry werewolf.

"Let's talk." She looked at me. "From the beginning until now."

I laughed nervously, feeling like a school girl in trouble. "You sure you don't want to eat first?" She just gave me a stern look. "Okay, fine. But try not to flip the table when you hear a certain thing." My eyes darted to Rami, who only grinned slyly. "Okay, it all started with this boy called 17..."

***

"And now here we are."

The women stared at Rami in horror, who just sat in his seat, chugging down orange juice.

"So, you're a vampire now." Eva says slowly, still trying to comprehend the information she just learned. "You died and now you're a vampire."

"And you left a cool car in the woods?" Nina frowned with disapproval. "I need a new car. You guys could have brought home a gift."

Eva slightly slapped her girlfriend's arm. "Rami's a vampire and you're thinking about the car!"

Lysander and Rami laughed while I smiled at the two of them.

"So, blood. How are you going to get it?"

Rami shrugs. "Idris and his clan can survive animal blood so that's probably what I'm going to do."

"How does it feel?" Eva asked worriedly. "Do you have the urge to kill us or..."

Nina and I kicked the girl from underneath the table while Lysander coughs out a laugh.

"I'm controlling it, but barely." Rami admitted. "It's like, being surrounded by food that smells good - except for Drew and Lysander." I crossed my arms. "But I will never hurt any of you. I wouldn't even try, considering you're all really scary when you're pissed off. I haven't even seen Nina mad but if she's going to marry Eva, well." The two exchanged a smirk.

"High school teacher. She's the worst." Eva commented. "But we're here for you, Rami. We are here to help if you need anything."

Rami nodded with a small smile. "I know. Thank you."

"And you." Eva then turned to Lysander. "It isn't your fault. You were corrupted by the military for their own selfish needs. You didn't deserve that. But I'm glad you're okay now. I'm glad you all made it back in one piece. And you know what? I say we party tonight. Because you came back. Also, Nina and I never got to throw an engagement party, so might as well."

Lysander chuckled, sliding his hand on my leg from below the table.

"By the way, Doctor Maxine wanted to let you know to visit her as soon as you come back." Says Nina. "I'll go get ready for tonight, buy the good stuff. You guys go ahead to Silverstein."

Eva stood up and kissed the long haired woman. "I'll take them. See you later."

"Oh! Please have alcohol in your party!" Rami exclaimed before we exited the kitchen. Lysander and I shot him a look, which he brushed off with an innocent smile.

***

Enoch is the first thing we see as soon as we entered Silverstein. As usual, his eyes are on the computer.

"Hello, how can I - " He looked up from his desk and his mouth dropped as he saw us. "Well, look who decided to come back." He looked at Rami up and down, furrowing his eyebrows. "What's up with your eyes?"

"Haven't you heard? Red contacts is the new trend." Rami winks. "So, where's Doctor Maxine?"

"In her office." Enoch saw Lysander standing beside me and blushed. "You're back." Lysander nodded but didn't say anything. "Right." Enoch cleared his throat. "I'll take you to Doctor Maxine's office. Come on."

Getting on the elevator to get to the third floor brought me back a lot of memories. I remembered the time I got lost and found Lysander by accident. I literally walked in on a group of men with a tied up shirtless man and I ran away completely embarrassed and confused. Lysander, next to me, is shifting uncomfortably while Enoch stares at Rami with confusion. Rami, who is holding his breath, grabs on to Eva tightly.

The lift ride felt the longest. Soon we arrived at the third floor and Enoch used his ID on the door's scanner so we can enter. The laboratory was clean and organized. "Good times." Rami told me with a grin. "Remember your two days of internship here?"

"Shut up."

Enoch knocked on Doctor Maxine's office, letting her know what we're here. Seconds later, the woman came with her wheel chair. "About time!" She beamed. She scanned Rami and held his hand. "You're a vampire now, too?"

Enoch, who's playing with empty glass tubes, dropped one on the ground as he heard the doctor's words.

"Sorry, what?"

Rami scratched his head and then let out a sigh. "I'm a vampire. Lysander's a werewolf. Drew is a witch. Eva is a robot."

"Wait, what?" Enoch's eyes bulged at me and Eva.

"Exterminate. Exterminate." Eva says in a robotic voice through giggles.

Enoch gulped. "Really?"

"No." I grunted.

"But I am a vampire and you already know Lysander's a werewolf." Rami adds on. "But you can't tell anyone because I'm going to eat you."

"Oh."

The poor boy looks like he's going to faint. Well, I wouldn't blame him. "Sorry." Doctor Maxine sighs. "I wanted to see you all for Lysander." She eyed the werewolf. "I wanted to run some tests on him, to see what they did to him."

Lysander flinched, not liking the sound of it. He backed away from the doctor and looked away anxiously. I walked over to him and ran a hand down his arm for comfort.

"And Rami, if you want, I could also check you, so you know what changed with your body?"

"That would be great, actually." Rami spared us a glance before nodding at the scientist "I'll go right now, if that's cool."

"Of course."

While Rami and Doctor Maxine stayed in the lab, Lysander and I waited inside her office. Eva said she's going to buy food in the vending machine outside while Enoch returned to the front desk downstairs. Lysander and I sat on a small red couch, which barely have room for the two of us.

"Lysander." I grabbed his hand. "It's okay. Don't be scared." I ran a hand up and down his back while he rests his head on my chest. "Doctor Maxine is nice and she's not going to hurt you. She's nothing like Tarver and any of those people. She just wants to know what they did to you, to see if you're in any kind of danger or anything. Just a normal check up, that's all. You seem to be fine though, so I'm sure she won't find anything."

Lysander let out a hot breath that hit my neck. "Will you be there?"

"Of course."

He held my hand tighter before planting a kiss on it.

Doctor Maxine did the same tests as Doctor Rai. The typical physical tests with the heartbeat, weight, height and everything. She also took samples of his blood and DNA to do some further analyzing, just to be safe. As for Rami, she said the things Rami and I already knew. Slow heartbeat, slow blood circulation, different pigmentation, and strange formation of muscles. Doctor Maxine didn't understand how Rami's body changed dramatically, as if he was just reborn with new insides. She also took some DNA and blood sample from Rami, and we will get the results in a few hours. We invited her for the party tonight, so she will be coming along to deliver the results. Enoch is also invited, for the fun sake of it.

"A lot scientists resigned after the werewolf incident." Doctor Maxine shared with us as we headed down to the lobby. "They said this lab is a mess and they wanted no part of it."

"Their loss." Rami mumbled.

"The other reason why I called you here, I was wondering if you'd like to work here? You know, get your positions back? Not just interns, but actually work here? I know how intelligent you two are and you are exactly what we need here."

"Really?" My heart swelled up. "I would love to!"

"I'll think about it." Rami smiles hesitantly. "I might actually have plans for the summer."

"You can start anytime." Doctor Maxine added.

"Then, yes. It would be an honor to work here!"

"Great!" Doctor Maxine stopped as we reached the front desk. Enoch gave us a nod, still looking awkward around the supernatural boys. "By the way, there's a woman who's been asking for you." She said to Rami.

"She scares all of us." Enoch squeaks at the side.

The scientist nodded in agreement. "She has been coming every day for about a week now. Actually, she should be coming in about.... Now."

Rami, Lysander, Eva and I waited for a couple of seconds, looking around to see who the said woman is. Then, the doors automatically opened and in walked a short woman with olive skin, short brown curly hair wearing an 80's looking dress with two little children at her sides. When I saw the two tiny boys, I couldn't help but awe loudly.

Twins. Similar, but not identical. Both have dark brown curly hair and bright green eyes. They look like little Ramis! The short woman marched towards us and gasped as she saw Rami. She pulled him down for a hug and cried happily.

"Rami!" She then pulled away and hit his arm repeatedly with her purse. "I have been calling and messaging you nonstop, young man! And I received nothing in return! I called your school and found out you dropped out!" She hit him harder as she mentioned that part. "And then I go to your intern place and they told me you've been absent?!" She hit his other arm. "I was about to report you missing to the police!"

"That's you in the future." I whispered to Eva, who took it as a compliment as she watches the mother and son. Meanwhile, I skipped towards the adorable babies who came up to Lysander.

They are staring at him with curiosity while Lysander stares at them back.

"How's your arms so big?" One of them asked, using an index finger to poke Lysander's left arm, while the other one did the same to his right arm.

"Where do you get them?"

I giggled at their voices. I'd say they are around 3 years old.

Lysander wasn't sure what to answer, so I did. "He gets them from a special plant. It's called Spinach."

"That's what mommy says!" The one wearing a red flannel replies.

"And she's right." I nodded, pointing at Lysander, who is now watching me with amusement, along with Eva. "This guy eats a lot of vegetables. Sometimes, a little chocolate is okay too."

The other boy with a blue flannel jumped to my side. "I love chocolate!"

"Me too!" I gave him a high five.

Rami instantly went to my side and put a hand on my arm rather tightly. "Mom, these are my friends who I went on that adventure with." From the sound of his voice, I could tell he was controlling his breathing. "Lysander, Drew, and Eva. Guys, this is my mom, Freya."

"Where did you go?" The mother asked after we shook hands.

"California."

She clicked her tongue. "That's weird. You're quite pale. Also, why are your eyes red?" She gasped again, her eyes firing with accusation. "Have you been doing drugs?"

"What? No!" Rami cringed. "I just lost a lot of sleep. Road tripping to the other side of the country with different time zones makes sleeping a little harder."

"I sent them to California to deliver some products personally." Doctor Maxine chimes in. "Sorry, I must have forgotten to notify the staff about their mission. As for the dropping out, I believe Rami has been struggling with his classes and thought it would be best to take a break from them."

Freya seem to have bought the story and hugged Rami again, which caused him to hold his breath. "Oh, my poor baby! You could have just told me! Your well being is more important than your grades!"

"Thanks mom!" He choked out. "By the way, I met Batman."

She ruffled his hair and smiled. "Good for you, son. Now, let's go out and eat for lunch! You guys can come!"

Rami shook his head but his mother already tugged on his arm. I put a hand on Lysander's back and urged him to come along. "Lysander can go with you. I'm actually still full from breakfast." We just ate not too long ago. "Also, I have to clean my apartment. I'll be there. Go there when you're done." The boys sent me a glare as I stayed with Eva. "Have fun!"

***

The apartment is indeed a mess. Someone definitely broke in and searched for clues to our whereabouts. Good thing Eva stayed with Nina.

Although it's not the best state, I immediately felt the comforting warmth of the apartment. I jumped at the couch and hugged the TV remote that was on the floor. Eva sat on the seat next to me and smiled.

"It's good to have you back, Drew."

"Good to be back." I sigh happily, sitting up. "So, you never answered my questions earlier." I pointed at the silver ring with a sapphire gem on her finger. "She put a ring on it."

"She absolutely did." She said proudly, waving her hand the way Beyonce taught us to flaunt. "I cried first. Then she cried seconds later." I knew it. "We went to a concert, then a late dinner, early breakfast kind of thing at a restaurant. Eleanor was there, since she was guarding us or something. Nina went on their karaoke stage and sang Paramore like a drunk person and then she just...asked me in front of everybody and I was going crazy. I couldn't move! Eleanor had to carry me to the stage, then I said yes and cried and everyone clapped and we got a free dessert."

I narrowed my eyes at her playfully. "You sure you guys didn't do it for the free dessert?" I'm so telling Lysander to fake a proposal so we can get a free dessert. "I'm happy for you! It's about time! I'm sad you didn't do it when I'm around, but you made me Maid of Honor so you're forgiven."

"I'm glad." She chuckled. "It'll be a Fall wedding. We were thinking sometime around October."

"Spooky Halloween Wedding." I snapped my fingers. "Whatever you do, Spooky Scary Skeletons must be played at the party. Maybe it should be a Halloween-themed wedding!"

"I'd rather not have Michael Myers crash the wedding and make it a red wedding." I mean, that wouldn't be so bad for our vampire friends. "I'm going to check something in the room, I'll be back."

"Wait. Do you mind if I use your phone for five minutes? Mine is kind of squished and non-functioning." The government owes me a new phone.

"We need to get you a new phone." She sighs. "But yeah, go for it."

Eva went into her room, leaving her phone at the table. I picked it up, punched in hers and Nina's birth year combined for the password, unlocking it. I looked through her contacts and found the second name on the list: Alana Rojas.

***

"Eva?" My sister's tired voice rang. "What's up? Is there something wrong?" Eva never really talks to Alana. She only makes calls when necessary and it has something to do with me.

"It's me." I said softly, standing up on the couch. "I kind of broke my phone."

"Drew." She sounded utterly surprised yet happy. "I was wondering why you didn't call me on the 1st. I thought something happened, you never miss a call. And then Eva called me, and you know she only does that in case of emergencies, so - "

"I'm fine." I interrupted, pacing back and forth the living room. "I've just been busy working on stuff. How are you? How does it feel to be almost in your 30? How's New York?"

Alana groaned. "Oh, shut up. I'm actually so stressed right now. Being a lawyer is so much hard work. People's issues are becoming mine and I just want to tell everyone to go fuck themselves."

"Alana!"

She laughed slightly. "Anyways. It's not all bad. It's just what's been happening lately. Lots of law breaking happening and government ruining shit. What about you? Been busy with college? How's that transfer to Princeton going?"

Oh, I dropped all my classes this semester so I can go on a road trip with a werewolf and kick some hunters and soldiers asses. "Good. Still have a few classes to take."

"And the internship?"

"Pretty good. I worked on some pretty cool stuff. I made some cool potions like Harry Potter."

"Ah, there's the nerd I've been waiting to hear." She sighs, pausing for a few seconds. "Drew. Listen. It's good to hear from you. Really. But I have to work now, nap time is over. Angry lady is outside my office. But we'll talk soon again, okay? Stay in school. I've been wanting to go on a vacation for a while now, maybe I'll go there and see you."

"That sounds great."

"Good. I'll let you know when that's possible. But for now, take care."

"You too. Bye."

I put the phone back on the table and threw myself back on the couch, putting a pillow over my face. After everything that happened, I think I'll stay in this couch and spend my entire summer sleeping. Yup, that sounds about perfect. I think I deserve a break from going outside and talking to people.

"Drew!"

"An!"

Two voices ruined my moment of peace. I kept my eyes shut, still hiding underneath the pillow.

"What's she doing?"

"Meditating?"

I threw the pillow at whoever said that, which happened to be Lysander. The pillow hit his stomach, which only got a laugh out of him. Sitting up, I crossed my arms and yawned at the boys.

"How was lunch?"

Rami sat on the table, almost sitting on Eva's phone. "It was a little hard controlling myself especially with my twin brothers. For some reason, children blood have a much more appetizing scent than adults, but the best ones are young adults. But it was okay because they sat with Lysander. The werewolf scent was so strong that their scents were covered with his stench."

Lysander sat next to me, glaring at Rami. "His brothers poked my arms the entire time."

Eva returned to the living room with a box full of random things in her room. It included a few old photos, her Lord of the Rings collections, and posters. "Hello, children." She set the box on the table and sat on her previous seat. She tossed Lysander a key and smiled. The werewolf held it up to observe it. A gold key that is exactly like mine.

I looked at her suspiciously. "Are you going somewhere?"
