《Those Darn Sexy Kidnappers》My 'State'

I walked downstairs the next morning to see everyone gaping at me.

"You didn't," Kenzie gasped.

"What?"

"You got marked!" She accused. Aw man, was it that noticeable?

"What? That's a...Pimple," I lied.

She scoffed, "A pimple?"

"I can't believe it took that long," Katie smiled, eating her cereal.

"Not too long," Luke teased and I threw an apple at him. On reflex he caught it and took a bite.

"You marked Kenzie before me. Anyway, shouldn't I be acting drunk?" I asked.

Emilie shook her head, "It'll take a bit longer for the effects to set in, you being the Luna, but it'll be very strong."

"Oh great," I sighed. "I apologize in advance for anything that happens."

"I'll have my phone with me," Jake smiled evilly and I groaned and put my head on the cool marble.

"HAHAHAIMFUNNY!" I busted out laughing.

"Here it comes," Katie sighed.

I turned to where the boys were sitting on the couch, "Who bashed Jake's head? He looks like a pancake."

"Maybe you should sit down," Kenzie tried to coax me towards the couch but I ripped my arm out of her grip and ran behind the kitchen counter.

"DANG ALIENS! GIVE ME BACK JEFF'S BODY AT ONCE!" I shouted.

"Where's my phone when I need it?" Katie said.

"Who would like to talk about their families?" I asked, pointing at the carton of orange juice resting on the kitchen counter. Katie and Emilie exchanged a look and burst out laughing.

"I AM NOT AN ANIMAL!" I insisted.

"Are you sure?" Kenzie snickered. Emilie smacked her arm and told her not to mess with me when I'm like this.

"WWWWWHHHHAAAAAAATTTTT?!?!?!?!?!" I screeched and dove towards where she was perched on the barstool. She shrieked and sprang off the seat. I grabbed the carton of orange juice off the counter and chased after her, yelling. I caught up to her quickly and tackled her to the ground. Then I climbed on top of her and poured orange juice on her head.

"Get off me!" She cried, surging upward and knocking me off. I stood and brushed my hands together.

"If only you had insurance," I clucked my tongue disapprovingly.

Cassie, are you alright?" Jake asked without taking his eyes off the TV.

"I'm not Cassie, I'm Jeb. My life is going great," I informed him. He muttered something under his breath. I skipped over to the door and threw it open.

"Field trip! Everyone get in an organizeshmized line!" I announced.

"Organized?" Katie asked, walking over to me.

I glared, "You are getting on my last nerve."

She started to say something back, but then I spotted the shiny metal door handle! And guess what? I could see a person!

"Hey buddy," I poked the handle and pointed to my face. "My eyes are up here."

"Ok! That's enough door time!" Katie said and steered me back to the couch.

I sat down and looked up at her, "I think that handle was hitting on me."

"When is this going to end?" Kenzie asked from where she was patting herself dry with a dish towel.

"I'm not sure," Emilie answered. She was sitting on a barstool, unwrapping a chocolate bar and I bursted out crying.

"That just makes me so sad!" I sobbed, flopping down on the couch and buying my face with a pillow. Em raised an eyebrow and Kenzie spoke up.

"She has a cousin, Connor. They first met at a coffee shop, he was unwrapping a chocolate bar and Cassie walked over and took a bite out of it."

"It's not my fault!" I interjected. "I was hungry!"

Kenzie nodded, "Anyway, they became best friends, but then he started getting weird. He would randomly lash out, and it was annoying and weird. But then his family packed up and moved, so it was fine with us."

"That's not cool," Emilie commented and I nodded.

"He wasn't cool," I said.

"Hey, you sound normal!" Katie exclaimed.

"Yeah," I said. "I think I'm calming down. That was crazy."

Kenzie turned to glare at me from where she was still patting herself dry with kitchen towels.

"For you?!"

"Sorry about that," I said sheepishly.

"It's ok," She responded. "I think I'll go change." And she trudged upstairs, still dripping orange juice.

"Hey, where's Jason?" I asked. I ask that a lot, I never know where he is! Maybe I'll put a bell around his neck.

"Grocery shopping. He was probably too scared to stay," Katie said.

"You know," I started, "while I was in that state, unsure of what was happening and if it was ever going to end, it makes a person think about what's really important in life. I've realized that-"

"Hey guys," Jason burst through the doorway, "I've got pizza!"

Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing and ran over to him. I sighed and slid off my stool, following their lead.
