"Cassie! Come down!" Someone called from downstairs.
"Asdfghjkl," I mumbled and turned over.
"What?" They called.
"ASDFGHJKL!" I sat up and shouted. My alarm clock started going off on the bedside table. Who set my alarm?
I tried to ignore it, but that darn thing was driving me crazy.
"OK FINE!" I yelled and slammed my hand down on top on it. The clock got a little dented.
I flopped back down and closed my eyes when suddenly, the door opened and someone barged in.
"Good morning Cassie!" Ryan sang.
"WHAT IS YOUR DARN PROBLEM, CAN YOUR OLD AGING EYES NOT SEE THAT IM DARN SLEEPING?!?! FIDDLESTICKS!!!"
Then I grabbed the dented clock, ripped its cord away from the wall, and hurled it at his head.
"Ounch!" He cried indignantly. I sprang out of bed, marched over to him, shoved him roughly out the door, and slammed it in his face. Ugh, the nerve of that guy.
I groaned and went over to my drawers, which were stuffed with more of Katie's clothes and I begrudgingly got dressed.
After I pulled my straight blonde hair into a high ponytail, I walked downstairs to see what all of this ruckus was about.
Katie and Emilie were chatting up a storm while Kenzie sat next to Luke, eating a muffin. Man, I want a muffin.
"Morning, sunshine!" Emilie grinned at me. I ignored her and headed for the pantry to find me a muffin.
"Sleep well?" Kenzie snickered and I paused in my act of poking through the food to glare at her.
"Guess what we are doing today!" Emilie stood and clasped her hands together in delight.
"Hhmmmm," I pondered. "Robbing a candy store?"
"Nope! SHOPPING!!!"
I was taken back, "Wait, really?"

"Yep! And Ryan is paying! He doesn't know it yet, but he is! Yay!! Let's go, friends!" Em skipped over to the door and threw it open.
"Yay! I like buying things with other people's money!" I followed her lead and skipped out the door. Kenzie and Katie sighed and reluctantly followed us into the car.
"How about this?" I called to Kenzie who was poking around the sock selection.
She wrinkled up her nose and shook her head. "It's too yellow."
I looked at the blue shirt I was holding up, "It's not a bit-"
"Let's go downstairs," Em suggested. I rolled my eyes and put the shirt back on the rack following them to the elevator. As we got closer, I noticed the worst thing. There was a sign on it.
"WHAT?!" I raged.
We had to hobble down the stairs, taking forever until we finally reached the bottom.
"I think I perspired back there," Em noted. "That can't be healthy."
"We need to file some kind of complaint," I decided. I was planning in my head when I tripped.
But thankfully, since I trip do much, I've become good at tripping. So, knowing what to do, I latched onto the person closest to me and they came tumbling down on top of me. When I looked up to see who I'd pulled down, I saw that it was a guy my age, with cute tousled brown hair.
"You're cute," my mouth decided to say. My cheeks flared up in embarrassment, but thankfully, he threw his head back and laughed.
"So are you," He grinned, climbing to his feet. "I'm Jeff."
"Hey!" I exclaimed, "So am I!"
His eyes widened, "Really??"
"Well, sort of. But usually I'm Cassie," I responded. He smiled and held his hand out to me. I high fived it, and he gave me an odd look.

"Well, see you around, Jeff," He smiled, walking away. I beamed back at him. What a nice guy.
"Cassie!" Emilie glared.
I turned to her defensively, "What?"
"If Jason finds out about this he'll be do mad."
I frowned, "Because I talked to him?"
"And high fived him and fell into him," She added. My frown deepened.
"But I only fell into him because I'm good at tripping. It's a talent."
Kenzie snorted, "My talents better. It's not tripping."

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. But those sinful and demonic forces that had hidden themselves in the shadows just couldn't help themselves could they? They wanted a piece of that prosperity too. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.

The Mentor
This one is for my daughter. She talked me into it (again) and it is her favorite genre of books. So, Bet, this one is for you. The true-bloods, the masters, they came first. That was hammered into Heath's head since he could walk with both words and fists by Karen. As a guardian and half-blood bastard of his vampire father, he would never know peace. His duty as a dhampir, his duty was clear, his fate sealed. But was it necessarily his fate? Could a sterile half breed such as himself, someone who did not exist in the human world, live anywhere in the world on the light? After a particularly nasty encounter with his Mentor, Heath is on the run. Set on not becoming the new guardian and knowing that decision has now marked him for death. The hunt is on and somewhere behind him is Joshua, the heir of his Master, and the thing that plagues his nightmare, his Mentor Karen.
