epilogue – walking and weddings

"And now, here's a few words from the future Mr. & Mrs. Walton themselves" A friend of Tony and Summer said into the microphone and they walked onto the stage hand-in-hand.

"Thank you all for coming out tonight" Summer smiled towards the us. "We're so grateful that all of you took the time out of your lives to come watch us get married on Saturday"

"Its about time" Eric called out from the back of the room and we all laughed.

"Thank you, Eric" Summer laughed. "I'm just so glad to finally be able to marry this guy"

"Speech, speech, speech" Kevin, Devin and Marc chanted.

Tony made a joke and Summer started with her speech but it all drowned away as I stared at Marc.

He was doing so much better than he was a year ago. We were doing so much better than we were a year ago.

When he apologized, we started getting back to normal. As normal as things could be. It was weird. Marc was sitting with me and my friends, which now included his brothers. It was tough and we had to become friends again before getting back together.

Honestly I don't think we thought we were getting back together. Until last November when Marc tried to go out on a date with another girl but showed up at my house confessing that he still loved me.

We've been back together ever since. It's been harder because now he's in physical therapy to relearn how to walk and speech therapy to help his stutter. But it's worth it to be with that butthead.

"W-what are you s-staring at?" Marc smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.

"Your ugly face." I grinned.

"Shut up. You l-love my face." Marc winked at me before returning his attention to the story Summer and Tony were telling.

I glanced over to where Kevin and Millie were sitting. They aren't together... yet. But Millie confessed to Laurel and I that she had feelings for Kevin and then Laurel and I went to threaten Kevin. Turns out he's in love with the girl. And I believe him. I've never seen Kevin treat a girl the way he's treating Millie. I'm happy for them.

Wyatt and Devin. How, nobody has realized they're a couple by now is beyond me. Right now everyone thinks that Devin brought Wyatt as a friend. But I was them kissing in the car before we got here. They seem happy.

Charlie and Laurel seem like they're doing great as well. They're not here tonight but they're flying in with Sage and Mick on Friday. They had some bumps in the road. Like when Laurel thought Charlie was cheating on her because of some messages in his phone. But that turned out to be one of Charlie's crazy exes and they've been strong ever since.

Dad and his girlfriend, Diana are here too. They're sitting with Dr. Preston and Mrs. Preston. They seem... perfect for each other. Dad seems a lot happier too.

Everything is just really good right now.

I smiled as I watched Summer and Tony have their first dance. The song Perfect by Ed Sheeran was playing. They seemed so happy.

"H-Hey." I looked up at Marc and smiled.

Wait. Looked up?

"Oh my god! Marc!" I grinned as I realized that he was standing. "What are you doing?!"

"Asking m-my girl to d-dance?" Marc furrowed his eyebrows and used a crutch to gesture to the dance floor.

"You're standing!" I rolled my eyes but I couldn't get the smile off my lips.

"I can w-walk too." Marc demonstrated for me and I shook my head.

"The physical therapies working?" I pecked his lips.

"Yeah. I just s-stayed in t-the chair to s-surprise you."

"Oh my god, Marc." I blinked back my tears as he took my hand and lead me to the dance floor.

I forgot how this felt. Being in his arms like this. With him towering above me like the tree he is.

That's when all of the emotions I had felt back when the accident happened came hitting me.

"Hey-Hey." Marc made me look at him. "Don't c-cry. I'm okay. W-we're okay."

"I love you." I wiped my tears away. "So much."

"I love you too, Tee." Marc kissed me and it felt the way it always has. Magical.

"So do you think it's time?" Marc whispered against my lips.

"For what?" I pulled away, confused.

"To tell them we're married?"

"Marc!" I smacked his chest. "We are not married."

"C'mon! I feel left out." Marc whined and I couldn't stop the laughter from slipping through my mouth.

"You have a few more years bud." I grinned.

"W-W-Wait! I am n-not waiting t-ten years like Tony did!" Marc declared.

Same old, Marc.

The End.
