《Falling For His Nanny [Book #1]》Chapter 36

"What seems to be the issue, Mrs. Isaacs?"
"I'm losing my mind, doctor Riley. I can't do a single thing without Levi having a damn near heart attack!"
It probably wasn't the right words to use considering he's actually experienced a heart attack, but how else could I explain his constant worrying? I keep telling him that everything will be all right. I mean after all, this will be our fifth child after Declan, Mason, and the twins. But he just won't hear it.
"He's acted this way with all of our children. The worrying has got to stop, doc. I can't take it anymore."
Nodding his head, doctor Riley records everything in his notebook, before turning his attention to Levi, who's sitting with his right leg crossed over the other and his arms resting on the rim of the couch's backrest.
"What are you worried about, Levi?"
"The doctor told her to stay off her feet and rest, but she refuses to listen."
"Is that true, Laurel?" Doctor Riley asks, his eyes shifting back over to me.
I chew at the inside of my cheek, nodding my head slowly. "I'm on maternity leave, which hasn't been great. Not only am I away from my students, but Levi decided to become a stay-at-home dad after Mason was born. So there is nothing for me to do, but lie around the house."
"So you're feeling useless?" He asks, writing in his notebook.
"Yeah," I admit lowly. "Levi does everything. He cooks, cleans, and gets the kids ready for bed. He even makes time for me. He does it all, which I'm grateful for. But I just want to feel needed again like when I'm with my students."
"I see." He turns back to Levi. "She's allowed to be on her feet for less than four hours a day. Let her be a mother, Levi. And when she's done, praise her for it. She deserves it after giving birth to all of your children, naturally I might add."
"I praise her all the time, doc. Why do you think we're on baby number five?"

He's been spending way too much time with Everett.
Both me and doctor Riley's cheeks turn pink in color. He clears his throat, his reading glasses fogging up. "That's not exactly what I mean, Levi. What I mean is to praise her by giving her a foot rub, or take her out to her favorite restaurant. Do something nice to show your appreciation."
"I understand." Levi nodded, turning to me. Grabbing my hands, he kissed each one before gently caressing them with his thumb. "I understand," he reiterates, looking me in my eyes.
"No more worrying, okay. Our baby girl will be okay and so will we."

"Look at all these cute baby clothes!" Ivy squealed, returning with a pile of baby boy clothes on her protruding round belly.
She had to crane her neck as she could hardly see over the pile of clothes. She handed some of the clothes she picked out to Haley, who was also having a boy.
She was really hoping for a girl since she already had Paxton and Silas. But nonetheless, she was happy to be bringing another child into the world.
"Have you guys thought of any names?" I asked them, still having yet to figure out a name at nine months. I figured since our due dates are close that maybe they had already come up with a few names.
"Everett and I decided to name our son Isaac, after Levi. But don't tell him I told you. It's a surprise."
"That's so sweet. He's going to love that."
"Great minds think alike," Ivy said, dropping the baby clothes into her shopping cart. "Beau and I are naming our son Flynn, after you."
"Really?"
"Yes. You are his godmother after all."
Eyes were on us as we started hugging and crying in the middle of the baby store. Blame it on our hormones, but we couldn't stop the waterworks from coming even if we tried.

"Thank you, Victor," I said with a smile as he set my shopping bags down on the kitchen counter and left.
"What's all this?" Levi asked, rocking Hayden in one arm and Harper in the other.

"Baby clothes, I told him, walking up to him so I could greet him and our twins with a kiss. "Where's Declan and Mason?"
"Watching a movie in our room." He chuckled lightly, giving his head a shake. "And you will never guess what movie."
"Finding Nemo?" I guessed easily, making note of his obvious sarcasm.
"Yup."
Ever since Mason was born, he's always enjoyed spending time with his older brother. They do everything together, especially watching Finding Nemo, which has become Mason's favorite movie as well.
Bringing the bags upstairs, Levi left to put the twins down for their nap, while I unloaded all of the baby clothes I bought and put them away in the nursery.
When I was finished, I went into the room where the boys were. "Come on guys. Declan, your uncle will be here any minute to take you to the aquarium."
Declan got up, his face lighting up. "Can I bring my shark?"
"Sure bud."
Giving me a hug, before running out of the room to finish getting ready, I placed my hands on my hips. "Nap time Mason."
"No!" The three year old toddler shouted, throwing a temper tantrum. He started whining and rolling all over the bed.
I sighed. From the stories I've heard about Levi's older brother, Mason's really living up to his name. "If I put Finding Nemo on in your room, then will you take your nap?"
He stopped throwing a temper tantrum immediately, his dark hair looking more auburn like mine in the light as his green eyes focused on me. "Okay mommy," he said simply, hopping off the bed and skipping out of the room as if nothing happened.
I followed him to his room, which he shared with Declan. He got into bed, an innocent little smile on his face. "Do you have to potty?"
He shook his head. Kissing his forehead, I turned on his movie and went back downstairs to wait with Declan until Everett arrived. After he came and picked up Declan ten minutes later, I plopped down on the couch with a heavy sigh.
"They're finally asleep," Levi said, joining me on the couch. Grabbing my propped up feet, he took off my socks and gently massaged them. "You're such an amazing father," I told him, tilting my head back and moaning softly. "And husband," I added, enjoying the foot rub he was giving me.
"Thank you, baby." He kissed the bottom of my foot and I giggled. "I finally figured out what we should name our little princess."
"Actually, I think I did too." I don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place. It's perfect. I just hope Levi and I are thinking the same thing. If not, we can always just put it as her middle name. "Let's say it at the same time." He nodded. "Okay, on the count of three. One... two... three!"
"Adeleine!" We both whisper-yelled in unison, not wanting to wake the kids.
I started to sob, because after my grandma passed shortly after our honeymoon, I'd just found out I was pregnant. I went into a slump, because I knew that this child and all our future children would never know their grandmother.
"Aww, baby don't cry." Levi switched positions, so that he was behind me. He straddled me close, kissing my neck and shoulder in a comforting manner. While wiping my tears with one hand, he rubbed my belly with the other.
"Levi?" I sniffled, my hand resting over his as he continued to gently rub my very pregnant belly.
"Yes, baby?"
"Can you get me some ice cream?"
"Of course." He kissed my cheek, tying my hair up with the scrunchie he still kept on him after all these years. "Is that all?"
"No. Can you get me some pickles and chocolate too?"
"Mhm."
He started to get up, but I shook my head, wanting him to stay. "No, don't go."
"How am I supposed to get what you need, if you won't let me go, sweetheart?"
"Victor can get it. I want you right now," I told him, my hormones all over the place.
He smiled and nodded, understanding what I wanted from him. "Okay, baby. Whatever you need."

"Perhaps you need a reminder?" he suggested as he rose to his feet. Andie sat back on her heels, her neck craning as her eyes remained on her stepbrother's. Then, she returned to all fours, but only for a moment, before lowering her front to the floor.Eric watched, his face blank, but his heart pounding as Andie stretched her arms above her head as if she were worshipping something.
