《Falling For His Nanny [Book #1]》Chapter 6

Realizing Declan had fallen asleep halfway through the bedtime story I was reading him, I closed the book and put it back on his bookshelf.

Smiling at the sleeping child, I turned off his lamp light and started towards the door. I left the door cracked ajar so light could get in.

Levi never mentioned Declan being afraid of the dark, but I wanted to make sure he had some light just in case that was a possibility.

Walking back downstairs, I got to work on cleaning the kitchen from when Declan and I made cupcakes earlier.

An hour had passed, the sound of the front door opening and closing filling the silence.

Levi entered the kitchen just as I finished drying and putting away the last of the dishes. Greeting him with a smile, he returned the gesture and sat down on the stool.

"Hey. How was work?"

"Irritating," he answered, sighing with exhaustion. "I'm just glad to be home."

"Hungry?" I asked, grabbing his dinner out of the oven and placing the homemade meal in front of him.

He stared down at the plate of food, the faint growling sound of his stomach giving him away. "Thank you."

I handed him a fork and knife as he peeled back the suran wrap. The delicious smell of pork chops, steamed broccoli, and mashed potatoes permeating the air.

"I'm sure it won't be nearly as good as some of the five star restaurants you own, but I figured you'd be hungry after such a long day at work."

"You know," he said, cutting into the pork chop and popping a piece of the meat into his mouth. "You didn't have to do this for me."

"I know. But I wanted to."

"Mmm," he hummed, nodding in approval as he slowly chewed and swallowed his food. "This is really good. My ex-wife was a terrible cook. And despite having my own chef, this is rather refreshing."

I smiled at that.

He cleaned his plate within minutes. I reached out to grab the dish, but he shook his head. "I've got it. I'm sure you're tired."

I yawned at that moment, Levi chuckling in response. "Thank you for taking care of Declan. It really means a lot to me."

"It's no problem at all. He's such a beautiful boy. I absolutely adore him."

My face lit up talking about how amazing Declan was. I didn't think it was possible to feel so much love for a child I just met. But somehow I've managed to do just that.

Levi smiled, flashing a set of pearly whites. I blushed as a result, my heart fluttering at how drop dead gorgeous he was.

Damn, could this man get any sexier?

"I uh better get some sleep." I chuckled nervously, having to avert my gaze and focus on anything but him. Which I learned wasn't a very easy task to do.

I turned on my heel, about to head to my room, but stopped when I remembered the cupcake Declan left for his father.

"Oh and there's a cupcake in the fridge for you. Declan made it special just for you."

Levi opened the wide stainless steel fridge and pulled out the chocolate cupcake with white icing and the word "daddy" decorated in red icing on top.

"We only made a few, but Declan wanted to make sure we saved one for his daddy."

Levi stared at me, his eyes seeming to have darkened in color. They had gone from their usual bright emerald green to a forest green color.

"For daddy, huh?" He murmured, his voice low and filled with a sexy husk.

My cheeks burned, the color a deep shade of pink. I shouldn't have been so turned on by a simple innocent word. But hearing him refer to himself as "daddy" had sounded very erotic coming from his lips.

I watched him closely as he took his index finger, swiped at the icing, and slowly licked the sweet treat off his finger.

He had his eyes trained on me when he did it. Which heated my cheeks in response. I had to refrain from my biting my lip, although I really wanted to do so.

I mean the way he sexily consumed that icing couldn't have been normal. Either I'm horny, or he knew exactly what he was doing.

****

I spent the entire night in my new room thinking about Levi and the way his tongue made love to the icing on his finger.

I tried very hard not to grow jealous at the fact that his tongue had been on that icing and not on me.

I shook my head, ashamed at my dirty way of thinking. It is highly inappropriate of me to not only think and view my boss that way, but about a man who is damn near twice my age.

Well he wasn't that much older. But still. We are twelve years apart, which isn't considered normal in the eyes of many.

I of course didn't mind the age difference. It was the fact that he was my boss that made everything a little more complicated.

My phone buzzed on the nightstand. I picked it up and opened up my phone to a text from Ivy.

How is everything going with Declan and his fine ass dilf of a daddy?

Declan is amazing. I really love that kid.

I was trying to avoid talking about Levi, because I knew that if I didn't stop now that it would be that much harder to get him out of my head.

I'm glad things are going well, but let's not forget about daddy Levi.

Would you stop calling him that?

Why? He's a daddy, isn't he?

Yes. And he knows it.

What is that supposed to mean? Wait, did something happen?

She sent me a bunch of emojis winking, determined to pry every last detail out of me.

I ended up telling her, because I knew that she wouldn't stop hounding me until I gave in.

I was probably out of mind for thinking and reacting the way I did. I'm sure I was just misinterpreting the whole thing anyway.

Right?
