After breakfast was finished, Rory helped the others clean up the table and put away the dishes.

"Rory, I have to run an errand but afterwords do you still want to hangout?" Kole asked as she put away the last plate.

"Yeah." She nodded turning to face him. She was happy that he asked her to hang out but at the same time she was nervous.

"I'll be back soon." Kole spoke with a sparkle in his eye. She could tell that he was excited and that was what gave her hope.

"He really likes you." A deep voice spoke causing her to jump in surprise. She turned slightly and was surprised to see Peter coming to stand next to her.

"I really like him too."

"Do you?"

"Of course, he's my mate." Aurora nodded surprised by the questioning.

"Is that the only reason?"

"I don't really know him that well but he seems great." Aurora hesitated.

"You're scared of him, I've noticed."

"I'm not scared of him, I'm scared he won't like me."

"Why wouldn't he like you?" Peter asked with narrowed eyes.

"Well I'm a Runt. And I am a Fox, who's supposed to the be Luna of a wolf pack."

"I want to take you somewhere, are you up for a trip?"

"Well Kole said-"

"I'll tell Kole where to find you at." Peter assured her. Rory couldn't help but fidget, Peter seemed to be a nice guy, but could she trust him?

"Ok." She nodded after a moment of debating. Peter smiled at her answer and escorted her outside. To her surprise they were walking instead of taking a car. It must have been somewhere close by.

"So you've met Edna?" Peter spoke trying to break the silence.

"Yes I have," she said with a smile.

"I'm sure she loved having you over," Peter spoke.

"She was very welcoming, I liked her very much."

"I'm happy to hear that. Many in our pack ignore her or belittle her because of her unique personality but she's wise." Peter said leading her into what she remembered to be Edna's house. "I think you would like to hear some of her stories." Peter gestured to the pathway to her house.

"Ok." Rory hesitated looking at Peter, before beginning to Edna's house. She wasn't sure why Peter was leading her to Edna, but Rory did want to hear some of her stories.

"Oh, hello dears," Edna beamed, looking up from where she was tending to her bushes.

"Edna, I brought Rory to hear some of your stories." Peter explained, both watching as the smile on her face grow double the size.

"I would love to share, but my flowers-" Edna spoke her face turning to a frown as she glanced at the half planted plants.

"I will finish planting them for you." Peter offered.

"Oh you're such a good boy," Edna cooed pinching his checks, like the grandma she came off to be.

"Thank you." Peter said a blush rising on his cheeks, glancing to Rory who stood with a smile on her face.

"Come deary, lets have some tea." Edna said gently grabbing Rory's hand and leading her into the house.

Rory turned to look at Peter, but saw that he was already tending to Edna's flowers, leaving her to be ushered inside.

"What type of things did you want to hear about?" Edna questioned as she bustled around her kitchen, looking for the tea kettle in the organized clutter.

"Whatever you want to tell me." Rory said shuffling by the door, unsure if she should seat down or not.

"Sit down doll," Edna spoke, placing a plate of cookies on the table.

As instructed Rory sat down taking in Edna's outfit. Again she saw her with the jeans and multicolored patches, but this time she wore a pale pink shirt, hair in and updo braid little Daisies sticking out of her hair. This women sure loved her flowers, Rory thought with a smile.

"How are you adjusting?" Edna spoke sitting in the chair next to her.

"Um, ok. I suppose."

"That was not confident at all." Edna chuckled. "What's clouding your mind?"

"I just don't know if I am the right one to be Luna, I'm mean I'm a fox."

"Oh Doll, you have no idea how special you are. I know exactly how you feel."

"You do?" Rory asked wondering how the wise women knew how it felt to be the joke of the pack.

"Let me pour our tea." Edna jumped up removing the pot from the heat before returning whistle could drag on. "Did you know that I was a Luna?"

"What?"

"My love was Alpha before Kole's family took over. Kole's father, Ron, was the Beta and then Lewis died, and I stepped down. I didn't want to lead by myself."

"How-," Rory snapped her jaw shut knowing that she had no right to ask about her mate. Especially not bringing up his death.

"Did he die?" Edna guessed a sad smile on her face. "He was attacked by Rouges, murdered."

"I-I'm so sorry." Rory shuttered.

"It was very unexpected. He went out for a patrol, came across an injured wolfpup and was attacked. The pup made it but Lewis didn't. But I know Lewis wouldn't want it any other way. It was just the type of man he was. He gave everything to his pack, dedicated. He didn't care that his mate was odd, and mocked. I know what people say about me, but I've found that the ones who matter, love and accept me for all I am." Edna smiled. "I'm glad you came to visit, I wanted to give you some homework."

"Homework?" Rory winced.

"Nothing too bad. I have a couple books I want you to read and when you are done we're going to talk about them." Edna dropped two large books, each nearly 400 pages, on the table in front of her.

"Luna's duties? Old Kingdom?" Rory questioned looking at the titles.

"Yes, And I want you to read the old kingdom one first and then the Luna duties. The old Kingdom will explain why you should be proud of being a fox. But enough about that, I don't want to spoil it for you." Edna smirked with playful eyes. "Now eat up, I didn't make cookies for nothing."

Rory laughed and took her second cookie off the plate.

"Hey Edna, the pup your mate saved, what happened to him?" Rory asked her mind curious about the pup her mate gave her life for.

"He got adopted by a loving women who raised him as her own son." A deep voice spoke from the doorway, causing Rory to jump. Standing in the doorway was none other than Peter, a loving smile on his face, as he looked at Edna.

"Have you been eavesdropping?"

"Is it eavesdropping when your the topic of the conversation?"

"Listen to that sass." Edna chuckled, "My flowers done?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Good, good. Want a cookie?" Edna offered.

Just like that, the trio fell into easy conversation, Rory learning a lot about the pair in front of her and the pack.

A loud knock on the door broke them out of their conversation, Edna jumping up to answer the door, but they all could sense who it was. Kole walked into the house, irritation rolling off of him.

"There you are." Kole spoke, "I didn't realize you were going to take my mate." He glared at Peter, noticing the relaxed air between the two. He was happy that his mate was getting along with his pack, but he wasn't liking how close they seemed to be sitting. His wolf was seeing it as a threat.

"Relax man, she's just been talking to Edna. Georgia was supposed to tell you where we were headed." Peter spoke shrugging his Alpha's agitation off. He glanced at Rory, who seemed to have shrunk into herself, worry and fear rolling off of her. The sight made Peter want to take a bite out of his Alpha, but he knew that would only make things worse.

"I'm sorry." Rory spoke.

"You have nothing to be sorry about, I just didn't realize you were going to head off with Peter. Georgia didn't relay the message" Kole said gently noticing Rory's mood.

"Oh boys, settle down, you're both pretty." Edna said with a chuckle breaking the tension.

"Did you want to go or did you want to stay here for a little longer?" Kole questioned, hoping that she was done with the pair and they would get a chance to spend time together.

Rory looked to Edna, "I think I'm ready for today. Can I come back and see you tomorrow?"

"Of course, you don't even have to ask dear. I'll be here." Edna nodded. "Don't forget about those books."

Kole and Rory left together in silence. She knew that Kole seemed to be upset before but she hoped that he would forgive her. She had been looking forward to spending time with just him, and she didn't want anything to ruin it.

"Would you like to go to the park?" Kole asked.

"That sounds nice."

Kole smiled, taking the books from her hands and tucking them under his arm, before holding out his other in invitation. Rory took his arm and allowed him to lead her in the right direction.

"How are you liking our pack?"

"It's nice, larger than I've ever been apart of." Rory responded.

"Has anyone been giving you any trouble?"

"Uh, no." Rory fibbed, her mind going to Rachel and the nasty things she was saying about her.

"You're lying." Kole stated gently. He stopped them and turned to her, looking into her eyes for the truth. "Who?"

"No one."

"Rory." His was loosing his patience. He wanted to know who he had to punish for messing with his mate.

"Uh, well they haven't said anything to me. I just over heard them talking about me."

"Who?"

"I think her name was Rachel." The moment the name escaped her mouth, she knew that something was wrong. The way that his frown deepen, confirmed that there was some type of history between the two, and she wasn't sure she could handle what it was.

"Ignore her." Kole spoke annoyed.

"Who is she?" Rory asked, "Is she an ex?"

"No!" Kole growled causing Rory to flinch, "Sorry, no. She's not. She's a pain in my ass."

"Ok?"

"I'll tell you about her later, do you think we can just enjoy our time?" Kole questioned.

"I'd like that." Rory smiled with a nod.

They walked in silence, the weather was beautiful outside.

"How are you today?" Kole asked, unsure how to start a conversation with his mate.

"I'm good. I really liked spending time with Edna, she's so nice." Rory smiled, "How are you?"

"I could be better." Kole replied honestly.

"Oh?"

"Nothing serious, not yet at least. The rouges are playing games with us but we just need a little more time to catch them."

Kole looked over at his mate, watching as she shifted nervously. "You have nothing to worry about." Kole reassured her, pulling her close and kissing the top of her head.

"Enough about business, lets go for a run." Kole smiled trying to bring her mood back up to what it was before he started the rouge topic.

"Sure." She nodded looking down at her clothes. She was just wearing jeans and a tee-shirt, she probably could run in this. Her thoughts were cut off when she heard Kole chuckle.

"I was thinking in our forms." He smirked, at her sudden understanding.

"Sure." Rory looked around for a quick place to strip and hide her clothes, but came up short. The park was not a children's playground like she originally thought it to be, but was a natural park filled with trees and flowers. The only part of it that looked to be touched by man, was the obvious path that was made.

"I'll change over here and then we can stash our things. No one should mess with it, since were on pack land. But just to be safe." Kole said pointing to the rocks.

Rory nodded waiting until he turned his back to quickly slip off her clothing, all while making sure that he wasn't peaking.
