"God, just pick up your damn phone!" I yell, hearing Axton's voicemail for the fifth time in a row.

Fuck it.

I grab my keys and walk out of our condo, locking the door. Where the hell would he be? My shaky feet take me to the elevator, I quickly get in and hit the first floor. Think Sophia, think! Where could he be? He's angry, possibly sad, where the hell would he go? As if the elevator can read my mind, it opens as soon as the answer comes into my mind.

The library.

Of course, he's there. I wipe the few tears that just dropped down my face and rush to the garage. I get into my car and drive out the garage and onto the dark streets of New York. Axton isn't sad about this baby, he's scared. I just have to reassure him that he'll be a great dad and nothing like Denzell.

---

I quickly insert my birthday into the security system and walk into the house. An entire house filled of books, he's crazy.

"Axton!" I call him but my echo is the only thing I get in response.

"I know you're in here!" I yell, well half yell, I'm exhausted. I search the first floor but I don't find him anywhere, I head up the staircase and when I turn to the left, there he is, reading The Great Gatsby. Of course, he is. It's always been his first pick when we did reading dates.

"Axton." I fold my arms over my chest, hoping he'll take his eyes off the damn book and look at me.

"Sophia." he says in a flat tone. This asshole.

"Axton we need to talk about this, you can't just walk away from the situation." I mumble and he closes the book and rests it on the chair, getting up.

"Watch me," he says as he walks past me and down the staircase.

"Axton you take one more step and we're done," I say, tears rolling down my cheeks, I'm bluffing but he doesn't need to know that. Although the next words are nothing but the truth.

"I get that this isn't the best timing, but I'm going to love this baby with everything I have, even if it's not you. I'm not giving this baby up!" I tell him and he turns around and looks at me.

"It starts with no date nights," he says, still glued in the same spot.

"Then, all the free time you have is gonna go towards it." It? This mother-

"It'll go everywhere with us! Grocery shopping, shopping at the mall! business trips! Everywhere."

"Once it's born, we'll stop having sex too!" he yells and I lean against the railing, is this man serious?

"Yes, I'm serious! Don't give me that look Sophia!" he says and I really wanna laugh.

"It'll drift us apart. It happened with your parents and even mines," he mumbles and I frown.

"No it- the baby wouldn't Axton, nothing can separate us, we have this connection, this thing that pulls us together even if we're at the other end of the room. You've slept with half of New York, I was in a pretty serious relationship, but despite all the times we've tried to deny our feelings, we've always been wrong! It's always gonna be us Axton, us against the world, it's us against being new parents, we're in this together."

"You don't fucking get it Soph!" he says turning around. Don't walk out on me. Don't.

"Axton you take one step towards that door and our relationship is over, because if you won't support me in this, then we're gonna have to end this." I tell him, my eyes on his feet.

But he takes a step.

Backwards.

He turns around and looks up at me, I look down at him from the staircase.

"I'm scared. I don't wanna be him." he says. My heart breaks. Denzell instilled this fear into Axton and I hated it. I hated when we were younger and Axton had meetings, he'd make sure the tie, suit, shoes, him. It was all different from his dad. He never wanted, nor does he want to be like him.

"You're nothing like him baby." I tell him.

"Are you with me in this or not?" I ask him.

"I am, but Soph I'm fucking terreifed." I frown.

"I know, now come hug me." I smile, opening my arms. He runs up the stairs and picks me up in his arms, spinning us around.

"Axton!" I chuckle.

"You're fucking pregnant! We're gonna be parents! Fuck!" he yells still spinning us and I knew it. I knew he was gonna be happy. He's just scared.

"I knew you were gonna be happy!" I smack his arm as he puts me down.

"Not gonna lie, when you told me, I was a bit happy, but I thought about my father and how he brought me up, and all I saw was me doing the same thing to my child." he says and I frown.

"You're so different from him, this baby is gonna love you because you're gonna be a great dad!" I tell him and he flashes me a small smile.

"Promise me one thing?" he asks, holding my hand.

"Anything."

"Promise you'll stop me if I start acting like him?" he mumbles.

"I won't have to because you're completely different from him, but sure, I promise." I kiss his cheek and he grins.

"When'd you find out?" he asks and I sigh. I'm tired.

"This morning, at my office with Myra." I tell him and his jaw drops.

"Myra knew before me!? I'll never hear the end of that!" he says and I chuckle.

"Well, how are you feeling?" he asks me.

"I'm hungry." I blurt out and he chuckles.

"Came with your car?" he asks and I nod.

"Race you to Inside out." he smirks.

"Prepare to loose Mr.McKay." I tell him, running down the stairs.

"Sophia stop running!"

"Make me!" I yell.

"We don't want four babies now do we?" he asks as I run out the front door laughing.

"Maybe!" I yell before closing my car door.

I wait for him to get into his car and when he does, he calls me. Deja vu hits me, remembering the days we'd race down the streets and he'd let me win.

"You get a head start my love," Just like old times.

"Just like old times," he says and I chuckle putting the phone on loudspeaker.

"Like old times." I mumble, pulling out the driveway.

The best thing about dating your best friend is you'll have these amazing memories while making even better ones.

I see him a few cars behind me.

"Get off the same lane as me!" I chuckle.

"Hey, I always drive on this lane!" he yells through the phone and I laugh.

"Remember the time Jace opened the door while you were driving and fell out?" I laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.

"Motherfucker fell right off the seat!" Axton chuckle's and I laugh even harder.

"Open your window," he says and I roll my eyes, but I open the window. I turn to look at him through the window frame of his car. His hair, blowing as we drive down the streets.

"You got a boyfriend?" he asks smirking and I start laughing.

"Yes, I do. No doubt you're single though." I tell him.

"He's a lucky guy."

"Not so lucky, he's sleeping on the couch tonight." his eyes widen and I chuckle. He drives up, without warning me and pulls into the drive-through.

"Asshole." I mumble knowing he can hear me through the phone.

"Meet me on the third row." he says and I hum in response as he hangs up. He orders and eventually it's my turn.

"Hi," the worker greets me.

"Hi." I flash her a smile.

"Two cheeseburgers and a large fries, please." I tell her and she nods. I drive up to the window and get my card ready to pay.

"Here you go, also the guy in front wants you to know, he thinks you're hot." I chuckle, handing her my card.

"He already paid for you too." she says and I smile.

"He's my fiance," I chuckle putting my card away.

"Called me single in ten different languages." she says and I chuckle.

"Have a nice night," I tell her, driving off to the car park.

He's crazy.
