"I'm sorry Sir, but she's very busy!" Sophia's assistant tells me. It's fucking six in the evening.

"But-" the line goes dead. It goes fucking dead.

Why is she even at the office at this time? I've been trying to call her for the last five fucking hours. I'm losing it now. I close my laptop, grab my keys and walk out my office.

"Good evening Sir."

"Evening Boss."

"Sir." they all greet me as I walk to the elevator.

I don't even respond, the only thing on my mind is Sophia.

Maybe Jace or Myra heard from her.

I quickly find Jace's number, he picks up on the second ring.

"Have you heard from Soph?" I ask him, hitting the first floor.

"Good evening to you too, yeah I'm okay, I'm alive. Sophia? No, I haven't." I roll my eyes at his attitude. If I said something he'd probably throw a pack of antibacterial wipes, in coconut scent at me.

"Alright." I sigh.

"Why though? Is she okay? Did you two kiss and she's avoiding you?" he asks as I walk out the elevator and into the underground garage.

"No that was last week," I mumble without thinking. Jace literally fucking screams through the phone.

"You kissed Soph!?" he yells. Great going you asshat.

"Can we not talk about this now?" I ask him, entering my car.

"Bro you kissed Sophia after so many fucking years, I never thought you'd do it at this point. Fuck, I owe Myra twenty dollars!" Of course they bet on it.

"Don't you have patients to take care of?"

"Don't you have some explaining to do?"

"You're stressing me out, bye," I mumble hanging up, as I pull onto the streets of New York.

"Okay, maybe change the color," I mumble, raising the pencil in my hand to my lips.

"Or not, God I don't know!" I huff as frustration takes me over. Vouge requested one of my dresses in their magazines, but they wanted a different dress, something more vintage than the modern-day designs. I love vintage clothing but when you're working with a tight deadline and a very strict request, you tend to overthink, change, and move around everything!

"Sophia, maybe you should take a break," Hayley mumbles standing next to me, holding a handful of sketches, of all sorts because I couldn't grasp one image in my mind.

"No, I'm okay." I tell her, looking at the dress in front of me.

"Uh, I think the color is quite nice." one of my employees say, I look up at her and she smiles.

"Thank you..."

"Eva."

"..Eva! Thank you, you look tired, you can leave for the day." I tell her and her eyes light up.

"Thank you." she says, walking out.

"Okay Hayley, we'll keep the colour, maybe a different sleeve style and a higher bodice." I tell her looking at the dress, nimbling on a freaking pencil.

"Okay." she says walking out the room.

Great she forgot to close the door.

I stare at the sketch of the dress, thinking if to change the style of the entire dress or not.

The door slams shut but I don't look up.

Maybe if I change the pattern of the dress to something a bit more old-school, It'll throw that vintage vibe.

My stomach rumbles, oh yeah I haven't eaten since like ten.

I hear someone clear their throat. I look up to see Axton standing.

"This isn't the mental asylum you know." I tell him, chewing on the pencil, I don't know why okay!

"With the way, you're chewing on that pencil I'd say you have some issues." he says and I roll my eyes.

"I know something else you can su-"

"Shut up." I tell him and he laughs.

"Why are you still here?" he says walking up to my desk.

"I'm working on a dress for Vogue, it's stressing me out," I say and he stops right in front of me. I smell his cologne and it somehow clams me down.

"Let me see what you have so far." He walks over beside me, taking the sketch into his hands.

"Change the color." he says.

"To?" I ask him as he sits in my chair.

"Emeral green, like that dress you wore to my birthday party last year." he says and I smile.

"You remember what I wore?" I chuckle.

"I always remember what you wear, yesterday you had grey plaid pants, a white sweatshirt, a black body bag, and a white lace bra." My eyes widen.

"How-"

"Slipped off your shoulder, a few times." he smirks.

"You're crazy."

"Only for you my love."

I cross my arms over my chest.

"Don't."

"Don't what?"

"Don't-"

"Sophia! You need to readjust the measurement." Hayley runs in with a ruler and the other sketch.

"Oh." I grab it, placing it over my desk and trying to adjust it.

"You should sit, it'll be more accurate." Hayley says but I shake my head.

"Sophia.."

"Ugh Fine." I groan.

"Get off my chair." I mumble to Axton but he smirks.

"Get off!"

"No."

God I'm going to kill him.

"I'm serious Axton, get off my chair."

"You think I'm joking love?" he smirks.

"There's no other seat!" I say frustrated.

"There is one seat." he nods to his lap.

"I fucking hate you." I mumble walking over to him and sitting on his lap. I adjust the measurement, but he's too far from the table, so I have to move around to reach the table.

Does he have his keys in his pocket?

I shift because I can't freaking reach and he lets out a low groan.

Fuck. That's not his keys.

I shift again.

Turning the paper, I shift again.

And again.

"You're not helping the situation." he whispers as I hand Hayley the paper.

She walks out the room.

"I didn't suggest using you as a seat," I mumble, grabbing my laptop.

Great, it needs to charge and the charger is at the end of the table. I slowly lean over to get it.

"Fuck Soph." he groans.

Oops.

"Sophia, any more changes?" Hayley walks in.

"Uh, yeah." I get off his lap.

"What color did you say?" I turn to Axton, trying not to laugh, I don't know what's so funny.

"Emerald green." he says.

"Emerald green." I turn to Hayley.

She nods walking out of my office.

"Did you eat dinner?" he asks and I shake my head, inserting my charger.

"Alright, what do you want?" he asks me.

"I'm okay, you should probably eat though." I tell him, typing in my password.

"Sophia you need to eat."

"Yeah you too." I say, not really paying attention.

"Alright, I'm heading home." Oh.

"Okay, bye, message me when you get home." I tell him, he walks out leaving me to read my emails.

"That emerald green looks amazing!" Hayley yells and I look at her.

"Oh yeah?" I chuckle.

"Go look at it!" I laugh getting up.

Walking into our designing room, I see a few of my employees at work.

I gasp as my eyes fall onto the dress. All the previous ones stood next to it, making it obvious that this one was the best.

"It looks amazing, finish up the body and I'll be here to stitch the ends of the sleeve. Great job girls." I smile at them proudly, mainly proud of Axton, I mean he did choose this color. Wouldn't be the first time Axton McKay made a sensible fashion decision. In my first-ever line, the colors were chosen by him.

My stomach rumbles, again. I really am hungry.

I push open my office door to see Axton sitting on my chair, Indian food spread across the desk.

"Thought I was gonna leave you hungry and alone huh?" he says scrolling through his phone.

"Yes." I mumble walking in.

"Ouch." he says and I chuckle.

"Thank you." I smile at him.

"Mhm."

"You can go you know, you don't have to stay with me." I tell him knowing it's going to be a long night.

"Not a chance, I'm leaving when you race me back to your apartment," he says and I laugh.
