She pulls me in enough, to keep me guessing.

Maybe I should stop and start confessing.

"Oh I've been shaking, I love it when you go crazy, you take all my inhibitions, baby there's nothing holding me back!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

Shawn Mendes is pretty darn good.

"Would you quit singing?" Axton mumbles focused on the book in his hands, I don't even know what he's reading.

"What are you reading?" I ask him, opening the oven to check on the brownies we've been baking, well I've been baking. Axton hasn't done anything other than cleaning the bowl and spoon, with his mouth.

You wish that was you huh?

Okay subconscious, shut up.

I look out the large glass view, the dark, gloomy city below us. Busy streets, with people, walking, jogging, driving, making their way through the rain to run their errands. Despite the weather, New York is always busy, I love it. The simple idea of the entire city just busy like bees. Ironic because I'm having a lazy day. But in my defense, I haven't had a lazy day in years.

Axton and have been in my apartment since we left my mom's place. We've been watching movies, reading, singing, baking, and just talking, I forgot how good it was to do nothing. After feeling the comfort of doing nothing, I've realized sometimes you need to slow down, do nothing but what makes you happy, and by that, I don't mean work, unwind from the work mode. It's now a priority.

"A book from," he shifts his gaze from the pages of the book to my bookshelf,

"The BookTok pile." My eyes widen. Crap.

"I don't think you'll be into a book from there, put it down, you're wasting time," I tell him, hoping he listens to me for once.

I take the brownies out of the oven and as I place them on the marble countertops a gasp leaves his mouth.

I look up and he looks shocked?

"What?" I ask him and he gets up from the couch and runs to me.

"When I asked you if you've ever watched porn, you said no and I thought you were lying."

"Uh, and?" I ask him, utterly confused.

"You weren't!" Well obviously dumbass.

"You don't watch it! You fucking read it!" he yells and I fold my arms over my chest.

"You read porn!" he yells again, obviously shocked. I swear I'm going to throw him out the window soon.

"Are you done?" I ask him, annoyed with his dramatic reaction.

"No, I'm not fucking done. You're not as innocent as you seem." I roll my eyes.

"And you're not as smart as you look." I shift my gaze from him to the brownies, clearly done with this conversation.

"Oh, don't you try to change the subject princess."

"Axton, shut up," I tell him, placing the square cuts of brownies on a cake stand, they look more aesthetic okay?

"Those smell good" he grabs one and so do I. I bite into the square piece of heaven and I think I actually moan, earning a smirk from Axton. Pervert.

"I don't like chocolate but these are fucking amazing," he says and I smile proudly, add baking to my resume.

He chuckles.

"What?" I ask him and he flashes me that cute grin that he rarely ever shows people.

"What?" I ask him again but he walks closer to me, laughing.

He passes his thumb over my bottom lip.

Where did the air go?

Shit. How does his hand feel so good?

Don't move, don't move.

Frick, he moved.

His thumb lifts off my lip and I almost cry. He licks off the chocolate from his thumb while looking directly at me.

Shit.

"You had chocolate on your lips," he says, walking back to the couch, a proud smirk on his face.

"Wine?" he pushes the bottle to me and I shake my head, declining.

My phone rings and I rush to the coffee table, grabbing it.

I see my mom's name flash across the screen.

I don't want to talk to her.

"Pick it up." Axton tells me and I stare at him like he's a mad man chasing air.

"No," I mumble.

"Sophia, I'd take that phone and throw it down the toilet, but it's your mom and I know she wouldn't call unless it's important." Why is he always right?

"I know, I'm always right, now answer it."

"Hello."

"Sophia, I need to see you right now, immediately," she says and hangs up before I can even say anything.

"She-"

"No excuses Soph, Kimberly wouldn't call then hang up that abruptly. "

"True." I mumble.

"I'll drop you off then leave because I have some stuff to do, but if you need me, just call me okay?" he asks and I nod.

"Go get dressed, or not, you look good in everything," he says, strolling through his phone.

"Liar," I mumble and he looks up from his phone, giving me that 'Don't test me.' look, that honestly was hot.

"Go take all your clothes off and put a pillowcase over you, secure it with a belt. Hurry though, we're working on minimal time."

Is this man for real?

"Uh,"

"Go on."

"I'm not doing that." I laugh. He gets up from the couch and throws me over his shoulder.

"Axton!"

"Put me down!" I yell.

He walks into my room and puts me on my feet, in front of the mirror.

"Pillowcase," he says, walking out the room, closing the door.

"This is stupid." I mumble.

"Just do it!" he says and I can tell he's right outside the door.

I do exactly what he says and honestly, it's a good confidence booster. Why does a pillowcase actually look good?

"Now what?" I ask him.

"Can I come in?"

"Yeah."

He walks in and pushes me directly in front of the mirror.

"See, even a pillowcase looks good on you."

"Doesn't it?" he asks.

"Mhm." I shake my head.

"Yeah, words." God, he's going to kill me.

"Yes, it does."

"Wanna disagree with me again?" he asks.

"No." I say, too quickly.

"Great, get dressed." he walks out the room.

Why was I turned on by that?

---

"Sophia!" Shyla runs down the stairs and I shoot her a concerned look.

"I'm sorry," she says.

"For?" I ask her, looking at my mom, walking down the stairs, looking utterly upset.

"Why does Kimberly look so, Kimberly, when this morning she looked so, not Kimberly?" Axton mumbles and I hold in a laugh.

"Sophia Rivera!" Now, I don't live in this woman's house, I don't use her money, I'm an adult. But she says my name once and I get so scared.

"You and Trey are expecting a child and you didn't think of telling me?" Excuse me?
