"Are you mad!?" I yell at him. 

"Come on Soph, you know the answer to that." he smiles and I almost forget that I have to be mad at him. 

"Not like you fell though." I glare at him and he starts laughing again. 

"And if I did?" 

"I wouldn't let you fall Soph." 

"But if you did?" 

"Then I'd wave you goodbye on your way down." he grins and I smack his shoulder. 

I turn, looking at the view that was in front of us. Something about looking at the city at night makes me feel safe. The tall buildings, lit with lights, the chill air glazing my skin. It was, relaxing. I've always been drawn to the city lights. 

"Isn't the view beatiful?" I ask Axton, still focused on the streets below us. 

"I've never seen anything more beatiful." he mutters and I turn to see him watching me. 

"You're not even looking." I chuckle. 

"Oh, I'm looking." he says, looking at me. With a small smile on his lips. He's so cute. 

"I'm talking about the city, idiot. Look at how breathtaking the view is." I mumble, lost in the lights. 

He chuckles. 

"What's so funny?" I ask him. 

"Well, I own all of those buildings, other than that one." he points to my building. 

"That one is owned by a very intelligent and hardworking woman." I couldn't help but smile. 

"I'm proud of you Soph, you did this entire designer thing, on your own. No family to support you. Started from nothing, look at where you are now." he tells me and I smile. 

"Thank you, I couldn't have done it without your help." 

"Bullshit. Yes you could have." He says sternly and I just smile. 

My mind drifts off to how far I've come, from working hours behind my computer screen, to walking red carpets. It wasn't easy, but as I got older, I realized, everything I was doing was for me. 

"Isn't crazy how it feels like yesterday we were starting college?" I ask Axton and he nods, focused on the view, the city this time. 

"Jace has a girlfriend who he's making all these changes for, Amyra is going to do her second dream job in the summer, you're freaking getting married. We've been focusing on who and not the fact that you're actually getting married!" I tell him and he chuckles at how realization hits me. 

"And I'm just stuck." I mutter and his gaze shifts to me. 

"No you're not." He tells me, only because he has to. 

"It's true, I feel like I'm not doing anything exciting, don't get me wrong, I love both my jobs, even event planning, just not this event," I scrunch my nose in disgust. 

"But other than that, it's pretty much the same, I'm stuck you know?" I ask him, not expecting him to understand cause it feels confusing. 

"Yeah, I do. But you're not stuck Soph, you have so much new lines, collabs, so many great stuff coming your way." I sigh. 

"I know, but it's all here, I think I should move, away from New York." I scoff and his eyes widen. 

"I think the fuck not." He says and I chuckle. 

"I'll need a week in advance to pack." he says and I raise an eyebrow. 

"I meant me, alone." He shakes his head,

"Where you go, I go. End of discussion." I laugh at how serious he said it. I wait for him to join me, but he doesn't.

"Oh, you're serious?" I sober from my laughing. 

He nods. 

"Oh," is all I can say. Is he really willingly to move with me? 

"Honestly Soph, you're addivted New York, you'll spend five days away, maximum, you'll get homesick." Why is he always right? He doesn't need to know that though. 

"We'll see." I mumble and he laughs. 

"What?" I ask him and he shakes his head. 

"Nothing, that dress just looks really good on you, I didn't get to say that because you know.." You almost got killed? Yeah, I know. 

"You always seem to be on time." I tell him and he chuckles. 

"Well, the first gunshot went off and I noticed they were pointed to the entrance of the hotel, few footsteps again and you'd be exactly where they planned. So, I pushed you down." he shrugs his shoulders. So there were three gunshots. 

"Thank you." I rest my head on his shoulder. 

"Yeah, no worries, didn't feel like attending a funeral anytime soon." 

"You're not funny Axton." 

"Soph. You have to tell me when you get threats like that." he tells me and I sigh. 

"I thought it was just some hater, bored." I try shrugging it off. 

"Well, it's not Soph." His phone rings and I raise my head from his shoulder so he can answer the call. 

He walks a few steps back. And I look at the city, wrapping my hands around my bare shoulders, it was getting cold. 

"Alright, we'll be there." he says, then I feel a warm fabric placed onto my shoulders. 

"One of the shooters, handed themselves in." he says and I take in a breath. 

"They want us down at the police station.Now, come on let's go." He tells me as he places his phone into the suit, draped around my shoulders. 

"Axton.." I was honestly not sure if I wanted to leave this hotel,ever. 

"I won't let anyone touch you.Come on," he extends his hand and I place mines onto his open palm. 

When the elevator stops onto the floor, where our suit was, I quickly look for my mom, but she's running towards me. 

"Sophia, we need to go to the police station, one of the shooters handed themselves in." 

"I know mom." She grabs my hand but my other hand is grabbed by Axton. 

Okay, this feels like I'm a disobdeiant daughter that's being pulled from her strict mom, by her punk of a boyfriend. That would be a pretty good book. 

"Kimberly, I'd rather Sophia drive with me." 

"That's okay! Go ahead." my mom smirks. 

"Yeah, because Axton was more affected by the shooting than me." I roll my eyes. 

"I'm afraid that's true." he mumbles and my mom chuckles. 

"See you two at the police station!" she walks away, with my siblings. 

"Ready?" he asks me and I nod.

"He isn't saying who he worked for." The police tells us. 

"Can we see him?" Is Axton mad? He's Axton McKay, of course he is. 

"I don't.." 

"You don't have to Soph." he reassures me. 

"I'll be here." I tell him and he walks away with the police officer. 

"Soph, you okay darling?" My mom asks me and I nod. 

"Come here." she pulls me into a hug and I just stand there, wrapped in her embrace.
