《Always Him.》𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟 13

We get into Axton's car and he pulls out the police station, reading to his house so I can speak to his mom. Shyla left with Sebastian and Amanda, everything was sorted out at the station, the only negative thing to face was the media. I sigh looking at the streets, as people finish their mid-day tasks rushing through the crowded streets.
"You okay Soph?" Axton's voice brings me back to reality.
"Yeah, I'm just, tired," I reply.
"What are you doing tonight?" he asks me and for the first time, I'm not sure.
"Not sure," I say looking at him.
"Wow, today must have really taken a toll on you since you're 'not sure," he says causing me to laugh.
"Well, maybe you should spend time at home, your childhood home," he says and it makes sense. I have been so, distant since I moved out, I didn't even know my brother had a girlfriend.
"I will, thank you for the idea." I smile at him.
"You know, being at the police station and given the cause, I couldn't help but recall when I got arrested for beating the shit out of Nigel," he smirks.
"I was thinking about that!" I chuckle.
"You walked up to me with your feisty attitude, and asked me if I was insane."
"And you said 'Only for you! I wanted to smack you so hard!" I roll my eyes laughing.
"I could maybe smack you some time," he smirks and I hit his shoulder.
"Shut up!" I laugh.
We park in his garage and make our way into the house, Eleanor was seated on the couch, glasses on, reading a magazine.
"Oh, Sophia! You're here!" she gets up hugging me.
"I'm here too you know," Axton mumbles, falling onto the couch.
"You sounded stress, is everything okay?" I ask her and she sighs.

"Honey I know you're busy and probably more stressed than ever with everything with your dad and brother. But, we need you, I, need you to help plan Axton's wedding, the summer is coming up and nearly every top-notched planner is completely booked." I stare at her as if she's a ghost.
"What? No, we can find someone." Axton says from the other couch.
"No, we're out of options Axton!" she says frustrated, this lady has celebrated so many birthdays for me because my parents were off together, she made my childhood worth remembering. I would probably feel guilty for the rest of my life if I don't help her.
"Alright." I sigh.
"Thank you so much darling!" she hugs me and I look at Axton who's confused and angry.
"When do we start?" She asks and I take my phone out, ready to make calls.
---
"Sophia can you go grab the family albums please?" Axton's mom asks me. She wants inspiration from past weddings for Axton's wedding.
I nod walking up the stairs and through the halls, the walls holding pictures of Axton, Corbin, and Jace playing football when they were younger. I remember watching him play and laughing at how much fun he would have. I was madly in love with him, for so long. Since we were seven, I would pray we would get teamed up in games or teachers would place us together when seating the class. Call me crazy but I can remember how he use to smell when we were nine, of course, he smells much better now, but back then that specific scent meant him. When our classmates say we would make a cute couple, I would fake a cringe and deny it. But in reality, I was in love with him, his obsession with football, cars, watches, his cocky attitude, his stupid jokes, and all these years later, I still am. Not one thing has changed.

"Soph." I turn to see Eleanor standing behind me,
"Sorry, took a trip down memory lane." I chuckle and she joins me.
"It's pretty clear you two have something between you." she smiles and I chuckle shaking my head, denying it.
"No, we don't," I tell her and she rolls her eyes.
"Darling, he stood on that very staircase announcing his engagement with another woman yet his eyes never left you. Neither did yours leave him," she says and it makes me laugh.
"Eleanor, we're just two childhood friends," I tell her but she doesn't take no for an answer.
"No you two have remarkable chemistry dear, work it out before it's too late." she says, walking away.
"It's already too late," I mumble walking to the library to grab the albums. We have been doing wedding planning for three hours, I miss my office and most importantly I haven't had coffee in four hours.
I love the rush though, it keeps my mind clear from everything with my parents. I push open the library door and I grab the albums, the door closes and I freeze. Is this how I die?
The lights go off and I scream, well, a half scream, a hand covers my mouth. This is it I'm gonna die. I'm asking Princess Diana what really happened, see you in about five seconds your highness.
I hear a laugh and instantly calm down, Axton's laugh.
"You immature ass!" I slap his shoulder as he continues laughing.
"You're should have seen your face when the door closed!" he laughs non-stop. I grab a hardcover book, and hit him with it.
"Ouch!" he laughs even harder.
"Come here!" he says before grabbing me by my waist and begins tickling me.
"Axton stop!" I scream in between laughs.
"Should have thought twice before hitting me," he says as he continues tickling me.
"I'm sorry!" I giggle before he lets me go.
I catch my breath as he stares at me.
"Stop staring at me, immature ass." I mumble turning the lock, but it doesn't open.
"Axton. It's stuck." I whisper yell as if someone can hear us.
"Great, let's read." he says falling onto the couch.
"We need to get out of here Axton!" I walk up to him. He looks at me, then the door, and pulls his phone out.
He stares at me as he raises it to his ear.
"Jace, Sophia, and I got locked in the library. Can you come get us, in an hour."
"What are you doing!?" I smack his arm as he hangs up the phone.
"No, call him back!" I basically yell at him.
"No," he mumbles picking up Wuthering Heights.
"Axton!" I whine like a kid.
"Soph. Sit your ass down and let's read like we use to," he tells me and I think about the days we spent reading together. It was so peaceful.
"Fine," I tell him walking around looking for Pride and Prejudice, I couldn't find it anywhere though.
I sit on the couch next to Axton after getting tired of looking for the book. He pulls it out and throws it at me.
"I hate you," I tell him opening it.
"You know you love me," he mumbles focused on his book.
A few minutes go by and I get tired. I take my phone out, and starting playing I was made for loving you by KISS.
I turn to him and he smirks. He gets up grabbing my hand and we begin dancing a familiar dance routine, from Freshman year's summer gala.
His hand falls to my waist as we move together to the beat. He twirls me and holds me in his arms.
The door opens and Jace walks in.
"I don't even wanna know, but Soph can you teach me to dance?" He asks.
"Sure Jacey!" I reply, catching my breath as I grab the albums walking out the very tense room.
