"Sophia wake up!" I hear Amyra's voice. I turn around from the bed to see her standing in her work clothes, holding two cups, of probably chai.

"No thank you," I tell her, throwing the blanket over my head blocking out the light provided by the sun.

"Soph, you have lunch with your mom. After you can come right back." she pulls the blanket off me.

I sigh getting up from bed, walking into the bathroom I shower, wash my hair, and jumped into black jeans, a silk crop top that I tucked into the jeans and I threw a long blazer over it. I never thought I would be telling mom dad cheated on her, for a year.

Walking out my room, I'm met with a very busy Myra.

"I have to go, be strong you got this!" she hugs me.

"Thanks, Myra." she walks out of my apartment getting into the elevator.

I grab my purse and phone about to leave when there's a knock on the door. Confused as to who is at my door this early, I walk over opening it to find a man in a delivery uniform, holding a bouquet of off-pink roses. My favorite.

"For Mrs. Rivera," he speaks.

"Uh, that's me," I reply

"Please sign here, " he hands me a clipboard and I sign.

I mumble a quick Thank you and close the door. I set the huge bouquet on my marble island, pulling the card out and opening it.

Good luck, you're doing the right thing, don't doubt yourself.

-Axton.

I smile at his words. He's so thoughtful. I gather my things and walk out of the apartment. I enter the elevator and take my phone out, calling him.

"Hey." he answers, sounding stress.

"Hey, thank you for the flowers. You okay?" I ask him.

"I said white candles on every other table!" I hear Piper's voice. Yikes.

"Wedding planning huh?" I ask chuckling.

"Because there's nothing more I'd want to be doing right now," he says with sarcasm.

I laugh.

"Good luck."

"Thanks, we'll catch up later Soph."

"Bye," I tell him as I hang up walking out the elevator.

I walk out the building and a little less paparazzi is outside. Asking nothing but normal questions.

Wow, thank you universe?

"How's it going, Sophia?"

"How's your morning going Sophia?"

"Have a nice day Sophia."

"Thank you, same to everyone else." I smile at them, easily walking away to my car. If only they acted like this every day.

I open the backdoor, getting in.

"Good morning Marty." I smile at him.

"Morning Sophia," he replies with a similar smile.

It's such a nice day, too bad I have to ruin it for mom. Maybe it was all a dream. Who am I kidding, it's very much real.

My phone rings and I see mom's name.

"Hi, mom."

"Sophia why is your dad still in New York, are you keeping him back for lunch? Darling he has to work, let him go." She really supported him through everything, long weekends, bankruptcy, so many other things and this is how he repaid her.

"Yeah, we need to have some family time mom, a lot," I mumble.

"Sophia where is this attention-seeking behavior coming from?" Ouch.

"Mom, please just have lunch with us." I plead.

"I'm with Shyla at our favorite restaurant, join us for breakfast, I'll call your brother and father."

"But-"

"Sophia it's this or send your father back to work." She says flatly.

"I'll be there." I hang up letting out a breath.

"Marty change of plans," I tell him as I dial Hayley's number.

---

I walk out the car into the restaurant. I see mom, Shyla, and Sebastian in the outdoor seating area. No sign of dad. What if he bails?

He answered my thoughts walking side by side with me.

"Sophia, you don't have to do this," he says and I don't think I've ever heard him this stressed. Well, it's all his doing.

I remain quiet as I walk to the table for five. We've celebrated nearly all of Shyla's birthday's here.

"Hi honey." Mom stands up to kiss dad. But I push her away.

"Sophia what is going on with you?" she asks.

"Why don't you ask dad?"

"Sophia you don't have to do this." he shakes his head.

"What's going on?"

"This is how most families break up, so someone explain what's going on," Shyla speaks up.

"Dad."

"I cheated on you." he turns to mom and her eyebrows raise in confusion.

"What?" she asks, laughing as if it's a joke.

"Oh for frick's sake," I grab my phone and play the security footage for her.

Her eyes that are glued to the screen, glisten with tears.

"When's the divorce?" Shyla asks as if she knew it was coming.

Sebastian hasn't said anything.

"There won't be a divorce." mom says, wiping tears away from her eyes.

What?

"What do you mean there won't be a divorce?" I ask.

"That will only bring shame to our social status," she says.

"Your husband of what? Twenty years cheated on you, and you're worried about your social status?" I ask in disbelief.

"Sophia you're making a scene," she mumbles, calmly.

"Since we're exposing dad today, I'll give him a chance, anything you want to explain to us dad?" Shyla asks.

"No, I swear that's all honey," he speaks to mom.

"Don't honey me." she scowls at him.

"Really dad?" Shyla asks. Does this kid know something?

"I was onto you, I watched you, wanna tell us what you spent Sebastion and I's savings on?" she asks him.

"Shyla-"

"Maybe I can ask Daphine Valentino since the yacht you bought is in her name." she says, clearly proud.

"You spent the kid's savings?" mom asks him.

"You spent our money on a yacht for one of your whores?" Sebastian speaks up for the first time.

"Watch your mouth little boy," Dad tells him.

"You're so blind, you don't have any little children anymore, you never did since you were never around." my clearly matured brother speaks.

"Oh yeah? Well you were always a shit son anyways."

Before any of us can hold Sebastian back, he throws a punch at dad.

"You just cheated on your wife, spent your children's money on your whore and you wanna call me a shit son? Man grandma must be so glad she died and didn't see you become this asshole." He strikes at him with every word. I just watch.

"Sophia stop your brother!" mom cries.

"No, he deserves it," I mumble meaning every word.

They get into a full physical fight.

Police sirens echo through the streets.

"Sophia.." Shyla holds onto my hand.

"I'll break it up," I mutter, walking to them but mom grabs my hand.

"He'll get arrested for hitting Sebastian. Let them fight," she mumbles.

I look at her and she smiles at me.
