"What are you doing here? You're supposed to be-" I cut him off. 

"Where? Home, with mom? With your wife of twenty years? With your other two kids!? So that you can be here, with whoever the hell she is?" I ask him, but as expected, he has nothing to say. 

"I'm so-" 

"Sorry? You're sorry?" I ask. 

"You have a wife at home that's sad because her husband is leaving as he always does! You have three kids, you sucked at being my dad, the least you could do is make Shyla and Sebastian's life easier!" He has always put work before us and would act nice for two weeks then leave. 

"Sophia be quiet, you're gonna make a scene," he mumbles. Is this man serious? 

"You mean a scene better than your eldest daughter catching you cheating?"

"Soph!" He raises his voice. 

"So this," I point between him and his mistress.

"This, is why you have your wife and kids home, sulking over you 'leaving for work'?" I ask and I'm pretty sure tears are running down my cheek. 

" You unloyal piece of shit!" I yell at him, he's smart, we're at the end of the hall, so not many people can hear me. 

"Shut up!" he raises his voice and his hand, attempting to slap me. Who even is this man? 

Another hand stops him, Axton's hand. 

"If you try that again, I'll cut your hand out and shove it down your fucking throat." He says, calmly. If this was a normal situation, I would probably be freaking out because Axton just cursed in front of my dad, but it doesn't count because I just caught him canoodling with someone that isn't his wife! 

"I-" My father tries to speak but Axton cuts him off. 

"Where were you all of last month? If it isn't clear by now, we want the truth so, don't lie." He asks him, and I think back to dad saying he's in Mexico. 

"I was in Europe," he says. Liar. 

"You're fucking lying." 

"You're lying." Axton and I say at the same time and I swear I see Amyra smiling. 

"You said you were in Mexico," I mumble and he sighs, dropping his head in shame. 

"He wasn't there either, he's been staying at one of my hotels, outside the city." Axton glares at him, as he pulls out his phone, playing a security footage video, of my dad kissing this woman in the hallway of one of Axton's hotels. 

Mom is going to be heartbroken, Shyla is going to break and Sebastian is going to kill dad. 

"How long has this been going on?" I mumble.

"A year." What? 

"A year? A whole year dad?" My voice breaks at the end. 

"Just to be clear, he has been seeing me for three months." the woman finally speaks up. 

"And did you know he was married with children?" Amyra asks her. 

"Yes. It was worth it, you people never understood him anyways," she says.

"Alright homewrecker, shut up now hm?" Amyra flashes her a fake smile. 

A year. He has been betraying mom and our family for a whole year.

"I can't even look at you," I mumble, walking away from the situation.

"Sophia wait!" he grabs my hand, but Axton quickly removes it. 

"Do you want to walk around without hands?" He asks him, I walk through the hall finally seeing those concrete steps. Thankfully paparazzi isn't here. 

I sit on the top step and all I see is our perfect family walking up the steps, mom and dad, hand in hand. Shyla, Sebastian, and I admiring how in love our parents were. On Valentines Day, Christmas, birthdays, my mom would always receive the most extravagant gifts from dad. They were always so, in love. 

The wind blows and I place my hands over my exposed shoulders. But I feel a warm fabric is placed over me, the Sauvage by Dior scent, giving away the owner of the jacket. I look up and I see Axton looking at the stars, before fixing his gaze onto me. His side profile is hot, off-topic but someone needed to mention it. He takes a seat next to me. 

"Remember the time you fell on that step." he points to the third step. I smile. 

"Yup, you were laughing so hard it made me cry even more." I chuckle. 

"I felt really bad after though, I didn't like the thought of seeing you cry," he says.

" I still don't like it. So don't even think about shedding another tear because your dad isn't a good husband to your mom." He gently takes my hand in his. 

"Not every marriage works out, some last for years, some last for years." He grins, confusing me. 

"And even seventy-two days, thank you for the insight of marriage Kim." He says and I laugh. 

"People sometimes fall out of love and that's okay. I know it's gonna be hard on you, Shyla and Bash." That's his nickname for my brother. 

"Maybe it's a good thing, for your mom and siblings. Now, you won't feel like your dad chooses work over you all the time." he says and I make a confused face. 

"Instead, he chose a woman, how is that better Axton?" 

"I'm not good at this advice shit okay." He says running his hands through his hair. 

"I know, thank you for trying though." I smile at him. 

He hums in response. 

"How did you know though?" I turn looking at him. 

"I saw them at my hotel," he explains. 

"Oh, where's your wife?" I ask him, not really wanting the answer. 

He smirks. 

"In my room." 

"Yuck." I scowl at him. 

He starts laughing and I glare at him. 

"How am I supposed to tell mom?" 

"Call her and tell her to meet you at a restaurant tomorrow with Shyla and Bash. I'll tell your dad to meet you there." He says. I take my phone out. 

"Hey mom, can you meet me at our Favourite restaurant for lunch, with Shyla and Sebastian. It's important. Bye." I leave her a voice mail since she didn't answer. 

"I'm proud of you," he tells me.

"Thank you." I rest my head on his shoulder. 

"Don't worry about it, Soph." 

I hear a camera click, I turn to see Amyra taking a picture. 

"Amyra!" 

"Shut up! Now let's go get ice cream! Bye Axton!" She walks down, more like runs down the steps. 

"Ice cream sounds good." I turn to Axton. 

"Go, remember no crying!" I smile handing him his jacket. 

"Thanks, Axton."

I run up to Amyra. 

As we walk to the limo she looks at me. 

"You guys are so cute!" I roll my eyes. 

"Shut up." 

"So, I have some news!" she squeals. 

"Spill." I tell her as she opens the limo. 

We get in and she turns to me smiling before telling the driver where to stop. 

"I got a call and, I got the job!" she squeals. 

"No way?" I gasp. 

"Yup!" she has been wanting to be a traveling photographer for a while and being a lawyer is her dream, but she has wanted to travel for a while. 

"You're leaving me." I frown. 

"As much as I love traveling and taking amazing pictures, I love being a lawyer more, it's only for the summer." I was still so happy for her. 

"I'm so happy for you Myra!" I hug her and she laughs. 

"Thanks, Soph!" she hugs me back. 

The limo stops and we get out, walking into the ice cream shop. 

"One chocolate chip fantasy and one cookie and cream blast," I tell the lady. 

We get our ice cream and walk back to the limo. 

"Soph, let's walk, you're building isn't far," she says. 

"Girls night?" I smirk

"Let's do it." she laughs. 

"You can go home, drive safe!" I tell the driver and he looked so relieved. 

I take my phone out to play music as we walk down the streets. Demons by Imagine Dragons start playing. 

We walk down the street to my building. Laughing and talking. I almost forget everything, I guess you can always count on your best friend to cheer you up. 

As we walk into my apartment, my phone buzzes, I see a message from Axton. 

Axton: Don't eat too much ice cream, get home safe. 

Me: No promises about the ice cream! I'm home, get home safe to your wife :) 

Axton: :( 

I chuckle taking my phone off as Amyra puts clueless on.
