Once I step through the front door of my house my dad barrels over to me and pulls me into a bone crushing hug.

"Where the hell have you been? I was worried sick about you! You have been gone for four hours! What do you have to say for yourself?" My dad yells after releasing me.

"I'm sorry daddy. I guess the time just got away from me." In all honestly, after the encounter with Mason, I ran more to try and clear my head. Obviously though it didn't work.

"Yeah well, you're grounded." He says firmly.

"What? Grounded?" Why the hell am I grounded? It's not like I snuck off and met up with someone in the woods- actually never mind.

"Yes. You had me and Jamie worried as hell! You're grounded. End of discussion." And with that he walks back into his office and slams the door.

By now you're probably wondering who Jamie is. Jamie is my four year old little brother.

Ever since my mom passed away I have cared for my little brother like he was my own child. I love him to death and would do absolutely anything for him.

I feel terrible about worrying them so much. Sure I'm pissed that I'm grounded but I understand. My dad still isn't over my mom's death and Jamie would be crushed if something happened to me.

Being grounded means I can't go anywhere but school and home. I also won't be allowed to shift for a whole week which is just unhuman or unwolf or what-the-hell-ever.

I walk up to my room and slam my door shut.

I go into my bathroom and take a nice, hot shower. I stand there for a good twenty minutes just letting the warm water wash out all the tension in my body. I step out of the shower and dry myself off before putting on my pajamas and slipping into bed.

I usually fall asleep around midnight but tonight I fall asleep as soon as my face hits the pillow.

~Next Morning~

I wake up when I feel someone jump on top of me.

"PAISLEY GET UP!" Jamie yells.

"Ok, ok. I'm up. What's the matter?"

"Nothing. I just want you to take me to preschool today." He says with those darn puppy dog eyes he knows I can't say no to.

"Daddy always takes you to school." I groan.

"I know but I want you to. Pleaaaassseeee!!!" He holds out the please and starts to whimper.

Damn it.

"Ok damn. I'm up! Now run off and let me get dressed." I finally give in.

I notice Jamie's face scrunch up in disgust.

"What?" I ask.

"Bad word." He pouts.

Aw! He's so cute, even when he tries to boss me around.

"I'm sorry." I apologize and kiss his cheek. He gives me a happy grin and walks out of the room, leaving me alone to get ready.

I throw on some white jeans with a casual blue shirt and my grey vans.

I walk down stairs into the kitchen to find Jamie and my dad eating breakfast at the table.

"Good morning sweetheart." My dad says and gets up to kiss my cheek but I dodge it.

"Morning." I say with nonchalantly and fix myself a plate of toast and eggs.

"Are you still mad about being grounded?" He asks.

I want to look at him and say, "No shit Sherlock", but instead I just nod and sit down at the table.

"Okay and I can understand that, but you need to understand that you are my only daughter and I worry about you. Soon you will find your mate and leave me and Jamie." His voice wavers at the end and I can see the sadness in his tired eyes.

"Daddy no matter what happens I will always be your little girl and I won't just leave you and Jamie. I will always be here for you both. I love you." I reassure him with a kiss on the cheek.

"I love you too. Now get to school before you and Jamie are late." He hugs both me and Jamie goodbye.

A few minutes later Jamie and I are in my car headed to school.

"I DON'T CARE! I LOVE IT! I DON'T CARE! YOU'RE ON A DIFFERENT ROAD I'M IN THE MILKY WAY, YOU WANT ME DOWN ON EARTH BUT I AM UP IN SPACE. YOU'RE SO DANG HARD TO PLEASE WE GOTTA KILL THE SWITCH, YOU'RE FROM THE SEVENTIES BUT I'M A NINETIES BITCH! I LOVE IT!" Jamie screams out the lyrics and I gasp causing him to stop singing and look at me.

I turn down the radio and stare at him until I break out into wild laughter.

I'm laughing so hard I'm on the verge of tears.

"What's so funny sissy?" Jamie asks so innocently.

"Nothing." I will have to explain it to him later because we just pulled up to his school.

"Ok. Love you sissy." He kisses my cheek and opens the car door.

"I love you too. Be safe and have a great day bubba."

Ten minutes later I pull into my high school's parking lot and get out of my car.

I can feel someone's eyes on me so I turn around to find Mason across the courtyard staring at me with a strange look on his face.
