After my tormented scream, everything was pin drop silent, I couldn't even hear how badly my heart was beating. How loud my sobs were that were filled with such unruly, never ending hopelessness. Not even the howls from the wolves of the pack that were paying respect to their alpha. I slowly lifted my head to see everyone was watching me.

A loud high pitched sound resonated throughout the woods and wind blew, pushing the leaves to swirl in the air around me. I watched as some of the leaves on the ground were forced aside creating a type of path. Then a light surrounded the forest across from me and I winced. My eyes squinted at the now bright white light that shined through, lighting up the whole area. No one reacted to the loud sound but, me.

When I followed the trail with my eyes, a slim figure emerged from the light in the forest. I caught sight of long platinum hair that flowed down. As the person came closer and closer, the light dimmed out. Upon her head sat a golden crown, a sculpted carving of a wolf was on it, the eye being of a ruby. I felt an immense pull to her but, I didn't want to believe it.

"Who are you?" I questioned, gripping Landon's hand in mine, eyeing her long white dress that trailed behind her.

She smiled sympathetically, "You know who I am."

"The Moon goddess." I breathed, almost in shock she was actually real.

I looked around to see if anyone else seen her but, they seemed to all look right past her, "They can't see me, all they see is you...crying for your loss." she explained softly, her grey orbs filled with sorrow when she glanced to Landon.

"Can you help him?" I instantly questioned, my eyes welling up with fresh tears again.

She walked closer to us, "You know not of what you ask of me." her eyebrows drew together with worry.

"Please." I begged, looking back down at him and placing a hand against his cheek, "He's all I have."

When I looked back up she shook her head, "You see him?" she walked over to where Jacob was standing with Genevieve.

His face was morphed into such pain, his eyes filled with unshed tears, I nodded, "I've seen what happens Layla." she walked back over to me, "Your brother will be there for you, he'll help you and you won't be alone."

I shook my head desperately, feeling the tears race down my cheeks, "And you now carry what's left of your mate inside of you." she knelt down in front of me with a small smile, "You will be okay."

"No." I stated, "Please." I begged again with everything in me, I didn't want to let him go, I couldn't, "I love him."

Her stormy eyes were filled with conflict and remorse, "When wolves lose their mates, I feel it, I feel it every time." she spoke, continuing on, "The feeling, the energy that flows from that pain, it calls to me but, never quite reaches me yours however, did."

"Then help me." I looked down at Landon, bringing his hand to my lips to kiss once again, "Bring him back to me." I lifted my head to meet her eyes.

"Again, Layla you know nothing of what you ask of me, doing this has consequences." she explained, glancing back down to Landon, eyeing his mark then mine, "Nature demands balance if I do this."

"I don't care, I just want him back." I breathed, for the first time in these excruciating moments, feeling some hope in my heart, "I can't do this without him." I wrapped my arm around my stomach where I knew my pup was.

"You won't like it." she stated, standing up from her position, "I've also seen how this ends, each way is painful."

I considered her words but, somehow nothing could register except the fact that he was gone. He was dead in my arms and it hurt so bad. My heart was aching at the fact that my pup can possibly never know Landon. But, I couldn't except that, it just didn't feel real.

"We don't care, bring him back now!" Mia had pushed through with a strong voice, echoing out into the forest.

She didn't care about anything right now especially anything standing in the way of bringing back our other half.

"If this is what you really want, I'll do it." I seen how hesitant her eyes were but, determined nonetheless.

My soul basically jumped at the fact that Landon is coming back to me. It was enough to get my blood pumping again. I sniffled, wiping away my tears and reassuring myself everything will be okay. When I looked at Landon his eyes were shut and I couldn't wait until they opened again.

"Okay." I brushed away some of his hair, looking up to meet her eyes, "What do you have to do?" I questioned.

She didn't reply, only reaching up to brush her fingers against the ruby of the wolf eye. Before closing her own after a second they reopened quickly. Her once grey eyes now a vibrant red color that matched the ruby. A loud powerful thunder sounded around and the sky clouded with dark colors. The winds blew strong which caused leaves to fly about.

Though the pack couldn't see her, they still felt the intensity of the weather. I looked down at Landon in anticipation of seeing him alive.

"See." I wiped his lips of the blood that covered them, "I told you, you were okay." I smiled a bit, sniffling and glancing up to the moon goddess.

More terrible loud sounds grumbled about the sky, getting more prominent and dangerous by the second. The sky was now mixed with black and grey, darkening the area around us. Only making it harder to see, especially when the wind picked up blowing dust everywhere.

I quickly looked back to Landon, my eyebrows rose in astonishment at his appearance. His pale skin seemed to gain back complexion and his chest constricted, cracking into place. I gasped, holding onto his hand while my heart raced in my chest.

Mia almost cried while telling me in such a broken tone.

'You can feel him?' I asked, my whole tone filled with hope.

She confirmed this, Landon confirming it even more by his hand twitching ever so slightly in mine. That's when I broke, hot warm tears were streaming down my cheeks in pure happiness. My hands cupped his face to turn towards me, just waiting for his eyes to open. I caressed at his cheeks softly until those hazel eyes of his made an appearance. Just as the storm picked up and the sky grew darker as the rain settled in.

They snapped open, his whole body sitting up in a quickness. He gasped, filling his lungs with the fresh air mixed with the rain trickling down from the sky. My heart felt whole and my soul no longer ached with pain. It was at peace knowing it's other half was entwined with us once again. I felt complete and I felt so full of happiness and thankfulness.

Landon's eyes were wide with shock and they looked around urgently, his breathing picking up, "Hey, Landon." I turned his head to face me in his frantic state, "It's me, you're okay." I spoke softly, running my thumb against his cheek where rain drops fell.

He eyed me for a second, soon his eyes melting and relaxing into me. His hand went up to mine that I had placed on his cheek, he held it gently against his face. Closing his eyes almost in contentment, his breathing slowing down. I could feel how relieved he was and how painful what he went through was.

"Layla." he mumbled, his voice filled with relief and he turned his head to kiss my palm.

In that moment, I couldn't believe he was back with me. He was alive and he was okay, I couldn't be anymore happy. Which is why my tears were so endless as I stared at him. Once he opened his eyes and noticed my crying he pulled me into him. My arms went instinctively around his neck, his wrapping around my waist.

He hugged me tightly to his chest, my tears falling onto his shoulder. I felt him stroke the back of my hair as I cried. His other hand rubbing my back and I could feel how strong the sparks were between us, I never missed a feeling so much.

"I'm okay." he whispered into my ear before kissing my head softly, "I'm okay." he repeated.

"It hurt so bad Landon, n-never do that to me again." I cried, remembering the never ending feeling of pain in my heart.

"I know love, I'm so sorry." he stated, caressing me and holding me tightly to him.

Once I pulled away to look at him, he cupped my face to wipe away my tears, "I-i thought you were gone forever." I bit my lip to keep from crying more.

"I promised you forever, didn't I?" he asked, cracking a small smile which calmed me down in ways nothing else can.

I nodded my head, afraid that if I tried to speak I'd cry, "Besides, who else is going to read animal farm with you?" he questioned, I laughed despite the massive headache I felt coming on.

By now the rain was endless, hitting us with hard cold pelts. I was shivering but, with Landon's hands on me it was enough to warm me up by the second. We stared at one another before he brought me forwards, allowing our lips to clash together. It was urgently sweet and I felt a lot being put into this kiss on his side and mine. I dug my fingers into his hair as his hands moved to my waist to bring me into him more.

I felt at peace knowing he was alive and here with me and I could feel how relieved and happy he was as well. Never in my life had I felt such excruciating pain. It was the most terrible thing I've ever felt in my life. It scared me, it made me feel like nothing mattered. Nothing but, the endless pit of loneliness and hurt in your gut.

I never wanted to feel that way again.
