Waking up was more than thrilling, everyday I get a lot more happier than I ever thought was possible. Layla is so amazing and she's so incredible to me, I don't deserve it. I'm so deeply irrevocably in love with her and I love that she can make me feel better in less than two seconds. Especially about something I've never really talked about with her. She's always so understanding no matter what the circumstance is.

But, even if she reassured me it wasn't my fault, there will always be that part of me that blames myself. I was naive and stupid to not realize what was going on. I had no clue and I'm the alpha of this pack, I should have known. No matter what, this will always eat at me. Constantly telling me that I need to make it up to her everyday, and I will.

Layla stirred next to me before she sat up and got out of bed quickly. She went to the restroom and out of instinct I followed after her. Just in time to see her hunch over the toilet, throwing up. I instantly went to her side to help hold her hair back.

After a couple of seconds she flushed the toilet and stood up, "Are you okay, do you need me to mind link Paul?" I questioned, as she walked to the sink.

"No, I'm okay." she reached for her tooth brush and I placed the back of my hand to her forehead.

"Are you sure, I'll just mind link him real quick." I stated, she shook her head again.

"Seriously I'm fine, I promise." she smiled a bit and turned away to grab the toothpaste.

She seemed like she was okay, I just didn't want her to feel sick like that. But, I also didn't want to call Paul over here when she didn't want me too. After a couple seconds I shrugged it off, she said she was okay, I believe her. We both brushed our teeth, glancing to one another. When we finished we washed our faces, I threw a bit of water at her which made her laugh.

Once she was done she smiled and went to walk past me, but, I quickly dried my face and went to grab her wrist. Her body turned towards me, my hand cupping the side of her neck to pull her into a fast kiss. Her response made me smile into the kiss, she did as well.

"I love you." I whispered, against her soft lips.

"I love you." she mumbled, before connecting our lips again in another kiss more slow this time.

When I pulled away she laughed and ran over to the bed, jumping onto it. Her black hair surrounded her angelic features. She was so effortlessly beautiful it was insane. I smiled, walking over to her and crawling over her. My arms caged her in between me, my fingers barely brushing over her mark.

"You're so beautiful, Layla." she smiled, shivering a bit at the touch.

Then she shook her head, her hands coming up to cover my mouth, "Stop." she laughed out.

I rested myself between her legs, a smile slipping onto my face once I took in her flushed cheeks. One of my hands moved to take hers away from my mouth.

"I can't help it, I want you to know how absolutely ravishing you are." I pecked her hand that was in my palm softly, before leaning down to press my lips against hers.

Jake inputted and I couldn't agree more.

That sweet angelic laugh of hers met my ears as we kissed. Just kissing her gave me such an adrenaline rush, it was fueled with love and passion. I love that her kisses gave me such relief, always pulling me from my stressful mind. Taking me to a place that was only her and I. When she pulled away, I brushed some of her hair away from her face.

My eyes getting lost in her emerald ones that held such a softness to them, "I have to get some work done at the pack house today."

"I'm coming." she said.

I shook my head, "Oh no, you're too sick." she frowned.

"I'm not sick." she caressed my face softly, her fingertips tracing every structure.

It made goosebumps rise on me, "I'm joking, of course you can come." I stated, leaning down to kiss her once again.

I can't believe how in love I am with her.

It was starting to become a real good thing Layla came with me to the pack house. I already hate it here because, of the obvious. But, on top of that I have the rogue situation weighing in on me. I need to find out how the hell they got in unseen. Every time it felt like my head might explode from the headache I have from this.

My eyes would drift to Layla and her deep green orbs would meet mine. Then everything was suddenly okay in that second.

She was standing by the shelf filled with books, looking them over. My eyes snapped to the wooden frame when a loud knock sounded from it. The door then swiftly opened on it's own, the person who walked in managing to make my whole body lock up in tension. And the person that might just be behind the rogue attack.

I hadn't seen him in years, not since I was little and he had gotten sentenced to being a rogue, for what he did.

My hands twitched to grab Layla and Jake was already growling inside of me, "What are you doing here Kade?" I questioned, his eyes meeting mine with pure mischief.

Layla turned her head just as Kade looked at her, "I've come to see how my little cousins doing." he looked around the office before his eyes landed on me, "And of course meet your mate." I growled lowly, glancing to Layla, silently telling her to come here.

"Now tell me why you're really here." I spoke, with venom laced in my every word.

'Get to my office now!' I mind linked Zach using my alpha tone.

Kade smiled, his next move provoking me into releasing a deathly growl. His hand wrapped around Layla's upper arm, yanking her towards him. A small gasp escaped her lips, her eyes meeting mine in alarm. My heart beat against my ribcage in complete and utter anger.

"I said, I'm here to meet your mate." he restated, I stepped forward a bit testily.

He was an impulsive person and I didn't want to make a move that would cause him to hurt her. Jake was already aching to shift to tear his head off. Kade stepped back with Layla, his arm resting around her waist. I glared at him feeling myself become hot with fury. My eyes settling on Layla who was looking to me with such an uncomfortable expression.

'Landon.' she mind linked me, almost breaking the last of restraint I had left in me.

'I know love, I know.' I replied softly, looking back to Kade who had a menacing look on his face.

"I guess I should tell you why I'm here." he mumbled with a smirk, my lips twitching in irritation, "What do you think?" I stepped forward again anxiously, when he grabbed her jaw.

She whimpered, trying to move her face out of his grip, "Stop fucking touching her." I seethed, narrowing my eyes on him and he smiled.

He stepped back again making my frustration grow, "What do you want Kade, what the fuck are you doing?" I asked, glancing at his hands that held her, my fists clenching tighter.

"I want to talk."

I scoffed, "Give me Layla and then we can." I stated.

He chuckled, purposefully stroking her hair, she flinched away from his touch, "She is really beautiful I'll give you that, but, I think I'll hold onto her until the end of our talk."

My breathing was coming out harsh and my whole body was aching from me trying to suppress Jake. He was absolutely livid, he wanted to tear Kade limb from limb and so did I. My canines were already slipping from my gums.

"So, I guess you want to know why I'm here, blah blah blah." he rolled his eyes, "I am very very angry with you which is why I'm here, I want you dead and possibly your mate." he turned Layla's face to him by her jaw, "What a waste though."

"Let her go Kade or I swear to god you will wish you got death as a punishment fourteen years ago." I growled out, my mind going in a frenzy at how he has her.

He ignored my statement, "Do you know how easy it was to get in here?" he questioned, "I would have came a lot sooner but, I had to wait for the right moment."

"I don't fucking care, just let her go!" I shouted, stepping forward again.

"Hmm, I guess it is about that time, you know your father should have really closed off those old trails back in the day." he smiled, "They make great for some good ole trespassing."

I felt my hands contracting into my claws, Jake at the surface already, "Give her to me." Jake growled out.

He looked to me with a small playful smile before roughly pushing her forward and making a quick exit. My whole body leapt over to catch her in my arms. It only fueled my blood lust for Kade once she turned on her back. There was blood trickling down and I pushed some hair from her face to examine it. She hissed in pain when my fingers brushed against the fresh scar that ran across the side of her forehead.

"I'm going to fucking kill him." My hands shook as I cupped her cheeks, looking down at her wound.

My hands touched her back to help her sit up, "I'm okay."

Once I knew she was alright, I got up and quickly made my way to the door.

"Landon." she caught my wrist in her hand and I turned to meet her eyes, "Where are you going?"

"I have to go after him, just stay here-" As I pulled my wrist away, Zach made it to the room, "Take her to Paul and watch her, alert the warriors of rogues."

My alpha tone seeped into my words and Jake had already taken control. He turned away from them to head out of the door swiftly, eager to get to Kade. Layla called after us but, we were far to gone to want to go back. He was going to die and I was going to do it.

Once I made it outside I caught scent of him heading into the woods. My bones were already aching and cracking as I ran, my anger numbing the pain of the shift. Jake was on high alert while he followed Kade's scent deep into the woods. It was eerily quiet, no sounds could be heard but, my paws hitting the ground. I caught sound of a twig snapping and turned my head to look into the scattered trees.

Just in time as a brown wolf jumped from the forest, my jaw immediately clamped onto his throat, snapping his neck. My veins were flooding with adrenaline and pure anger. After that another jumped out of the forest, along with four more. They were rogues from the smell of it. Another one came out and as soon as we locked eyes, I knew it was Kade.

They surrounded me, circling me with growls and snapping at me. I knew that I could take them but, after that, I wasn't expecting even more to come. In the moment all I thought about was Layla.

All I could think about was how I didn't want to leave her but, right now it looked like a possibility.
