《The Runt & The Alpha》Chapter 53- Chester.

"Chester." I breathed, watching as he fell to the ground, his stomach bleeding profusely.
I ran over to him, dropping myself beside him, his eyes looking up to me, "A-are you okay?" he mumbled.
I grabbed ahold of the bottom of my shirt tearing a piece off, "Am I okay?" I repeated incredulously, "You're bleeding!" I exclaimed, my heart racing as I placed the cloth over his wound.
I applied pressure, watching his face pale by the second, "I-I'm fine." he panted, his eyes drooping a bit.
"I need some help over here!" I shouted to nurses and doctors that came to help injured warriors.
I looked down at Chester who was staring up at me, his wound not letting up on the bleeding, "D-did you read m-my letter?" he stammered breathlessly, I shook my head.
Blood was gushing from his stomach and he was asking me about his letter?
"No, no Chester, I haven't yet." I tried to apply pressure but, it just wouldn't stop, "Somebody help!" I shouted again.
He groaned, his eyes closing, "Chester." I stated, he opened his eyes, "You have to stay talking to me."
"I'm s-sorry Layla f-for everything." he coughed, my eyes widening when I seen blood coming out.
"No, I already forgave you, it's okay." I brushed hair away from his eyes, he tried to smile before he coughed again.
"I-it's not o-okay." he breathed deeply and I glanced to the wound, the cloth was soaked with blood not being of any use, "I-I'm s-sorry." he rasped, his breathing becoming shallow.
My hands were covered in his blood, my mind finally registering that he might die. Right here in my arms and I didn't want that to happen. Chester did something bad to me he did but, he had so much potential to be good. And just as he was about to be good he was going to die, at my expense. It wasn't fair, he was just trying to protect me.
"Chester, why did you have to do that, you wouldn't have gotten hurt, I would have been fine!" I lectured him, he laughed a bit causing him to cough more blood up as well.
"I-I had to w-when you told me I c-could stay." he choked, "I promised t-to do my best b-by you." his skin was glistening with sweat.
My eyes weld up with unshed tears, "I t-thought I did p-pretty good." his eyes started to close, while blood spouted from his mouth from the corner of his lips and down his pale face.
"No!" I looked around spotting a doctor finally jogging over our way.
It was Paul, "Luna, are you alri-"
"Help him!" I cut him off, removing my blood covered hands.
I watched him place his bag down, digging through it for supplies. I stood up, my hands shaking at the adrenaline coursing through my veins. While Chester laid unconscious, his chest was still moving slowly up and down. Which was a good sign but, I needed him to open his eyes, to be alright.

"Chester!" I looked to the right to see his mother running over to him, "No, no." she sat beside him, holding his hand.
His dad covered his mouth in shock, shrugging off his coat to cover his bottom half. While Paul finally took out what seemed to be a needle and thread. I looked away, trying to calm my nerves but, I couldn't.
I needed-
"Layla." I turned around, the tears I had in my eyes falling down at the sight of him.
We both jogged over to each other, meeting in the middle, he gripped my face kissing my lips several times. Before he looked me over with worry in his eyes. His face and clothes had a bit of blood spattered on it but, either than that he seemed okay.
He grabbed my hands, his eyes widening more, "Oh my god." he whispered, at the sight of so much blood.
"It's not mine." I rushed to say, relief washing over his face.
"Who's is it?" he asked, looking at me with concern.
"It's Chester's." I stated, turning around to look at his lying body on the floor, Landon looking in the direction as well, "There was a rogue about to get Eve but, I got her to her mom before it went for me but, Chester stopped it and now he's hurt because, of me, it's all my fault." I rushed out in complete panic, before he pulled me into his chest, his arms going around me.
"No love, it isn't your fault he wanted to help you." his hand rubbed my back soothingly, making me calm down effortlessly.
His fingers dug into my arm to hold me but, I hissed in pain, backing out of his hold. Only now remembering the gash in my arm. The adrenaline that kicked in must have worn off, since my arm felt on fire with pain.
"Layla, I thought you said this wasn't your blood." he said, grabbing my arm to extend it, inspecting the gash.
"I did, I guess I forgot about it after Chester got hurt." I explained, pointing to the gash surrounded by dried blood, "After I got Eve to her mom the wolf scratched me."
He growled, grabbing my hand and tugging me along, "Come on, let's go get you cleaned up."
"Wait, I need to see if Chester's okay." I stopped walking and he turned around.
"Love no, he'll be fine, now please let me clean you up." his eyes drifted down to my ripped shirt, his eyes darkening, "What happened to your shirt?"
"I used it for Chester's wound." I mumbled, he growled, trying to tug it down so it doesn't show my stomach.
But, it only ended up showing my cleavage, he frowned, "Now we're really going to get you cleaned up, please come with me after will come check on Chester okay?"

I gave in, nodding my head and letting him lead me to our house. When we got there Genevieve, Dawn and Audrey were waiting inside. We gave each other hugs and told them it was safe to go outside. Jacob was fighting alongside the warriors but, Genevieve mind linked him and he was okay. After they left Landon tugged me upstairs.
When we got to the restroom, he grabbed the hem of my shirt pulling it off. Then he unclipped my bra, tossing the clothing aside before pulling down my panties and jeans. It wasn't in a lustful way but, a caring way, then he started the shower. As he was going to take his clothes off himself, I did it for him the same way he did it for me. Then we both got in the shower, letting the dried blood run down the drain.
"You scared me." he whispered, while I scrubbed at my hands to get the blood off.
"How?" I questioned, looking up at him.
"When you didn't answer me, I thought maybe..." he sighed, "I thought something happened to you and I almost lost my mind for a second."
I half smiled, bringing my hand up to his cheek, "I'm right here."
He closed his eyes, leaning into my hands and touching my hips, "I don't think I ever in my life felt so scared." he murmured, my eyes welling up again at his words.
I leaned up on my tippy toes, pressing a kiss to his lips. He responded quickly, kissing me slow and passionate as if wanting to remember how my lips felt. I did the same, his were soft and warm against mine. When we pulled away, we gazed into one another's eyes. Before he grabbed some soap and started to wash my body.
I watched him, his brown wet hair seeming darker from the water. As it trickled down his face and chest. His eyes set on my body, a bit of lust shining in them but, mostly pure affection. I got the soap from him and started to wash his body while he stared at me. Soon after us washing our hair, we got out and got dressed.
He wanted to bandage my arm so I was sat on the bathroom counter for him. When he pulled the first aid kit from the cabinet he set it beside me. Before grabbing an alcohol pad out of it to clean them up, afterwards he covered it with a big bandage. Then he placed a soft kiss on it.
"There it should heal within the day." he pecked my lips sweetly, putting away the kit.
"Thank you." I smiled, my cheeks heating up at how caring he's being.
"You're welcome baby, I'm just glad you're not seriously hurt anywhere." he cradled my face in his hands, kissing my lips slowly again.
We pulled away after a minute, "Can we go see how Chester's doing now?" I asked, holding his hand as I hopped off the counter.
"Anything for you." he replied, leading us out of the bathroom and to the front door.
We walked hand in hand to the spot Chester was left at. My nerves kicking in, I need for him to be alright, he can't die. Not when I was just getting to see who he really was. The person that was hiding behind a persona. A persona built off of lies, manipulation and fear.
When we got there, no one was there anymore. I panicked a bit, looking around, his parents weren't even around. There was a ton of blood where he just was making me panic more. But, Landon rubbed my hand in his giving me a sense of comfort. Before he lead us to the pack house where lots of people were looking to us.
"We're looking for Chester, where is he-"
"Layla." I looked over to see Jacob standing with Zach, Landon and I both made our way over.
Jacob instantly pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back, a smile gracing my lips, "Thank god you're okay."
I pulled away, "I'm glad you are too."
Landon and Jacob started talking while I looked to Zach. My eyes widen when I seen his right eye slightly red and swollen. A long bloody gash ran underneath it. It was like an instinct in me to make sure he was okay. I grabbed his chin tilting his head to the side to eye it better.
I hissed at how bad it looked, "Are you okay?"
His brown eyes locked with mine, enthrall passing over his features, he nodded, "Y-yeah I'm fine." I smiled, "I won, you should see the other guy." he shrugged his shoulders, a playful smirk on his lips.
I laughed a bit, "Are you okay?" he asked, eyeing the bandage on my arm.
"Yeah I'm-"
A growl sounded behind me and I was brought backwards by my hips. My back hit Landon's chest and that's when I felt how jealous he was, it was growing by the second. And I also realized Zach had his shirt off this whole time but, my focus was just on his gash. But, Landon didn't see it that way at all.
Zach cleared his throat, clearly sensing the change in mood, "I heard you guys were looking for Chester, I heard he's in the main office with Paul." Zach stated, looking away from me.
"Thanks." Landon stated harshly, before grabbing my hand and leading us to Chester, I waved at the boys.
All the way there I was hoping to the moon goddess that Chester was okay.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
