Jake growled, I rolled my eyes.

'We can't kill Jacob.' he growled again and went to the back of my mind, upset.

Ever since dinner when Jacob wouldn't stop staring at Layla we've both been on edge. But, it's physically and emotionally impossible to like another if you've found your mate. Yeah, it could be possible but, it's highly unlikely. That's why I know it just has to be something else. Which is why I was okay with leaving her for a second at the house to see the guys.

"Alpha Landon."

The guards greeted I nodded, they opened the big medal chipped doors. And I walked inside following the path to where the door between me and the guys was.

"If you guys would have just left her alone like I first said all those years ago we wouldn't be here." I heard Chester.

"Yeah whatever Chester that sure didn't stop your wolf." Brad spit and I growled.

"Guys stop fight-"

The door creaking cut Donna's sentence off, their voices stopping at the sound. I walked down the stone path and came into their view. Chester and Jameson were in their cells, chained to the wall. While Donna stood in the same one as Brad. My feet quickly carried me to their cell, the guard unlocking it for me.

When I stepped inside Donna looked a bit scared so did Brad, "Stand up." I stated, watching as he slowly stood up from the ground.

I wondered why he wasn't chained but, Brad was getting beat daily so I doubt he even had any energy to run. After he successfully stood I gripped his jaw slamming him against the wall, Donna let out a gasp of surprise. She tried to get my hand from him but, I growled loudly. A guard coming in to hold her back, good she can watch.

"It's okay Donna." Brad looked at her with reassurance.

I slammed him against the wall again so he could look at me, a groan escaping his lips, "Layla did you a favor by making you a rogue, I could have killed you just like I did Steven." he eyed me with fear very much evident in his eyes.

"That doesn't mean when you leave this land to think about coming back, I don't ever want to see you back here again." I stated with authority in my voice, gripping his jaw painfully tight.

I let him go roughly, turning around to eye Chester and Jameson who were looking at me warily, "That goes for you two as well."

"Because, if any of you think of showing a glimpse of your faces here again." I looked to Brad with an evil smile, "I'll kill you."

"Don't worry, we won't." Brad weakly stated.

The guard let Donna go and she went to Brad to touch his jaw. I rolled my eyes at that, I could have done a lot worse.

"Good." I walked out of the cell, the guard behind me.

He shut it locking it with a key before nodding respectfully to me. As I made my way out I couldn't help but, think of how pleased I am. Soon these guys won't be my problem and hardly anyone lasts as a rogue. If they crossed any pack border at least once they'd be killed. If any member of a pack came across them they'd be killed.

Which makes me happy.

On the other hand Jake and I feared they'd try to come back to disrupt Layla and my happiness. But, if they did I would kill them without hesitation. And I'm sure Brad's time away from Donna showed him how terrible it is. So maybe he wouldn't put himself in a situation to lose her again. As for Chester, he genuinely seems guilt stricken.

Same for Jameson he definitely looks as if he got hit with a train. And I'm glad their both wallowing in guilt and shame. They deserve it plus a lot, a lot more. But, I'm respecting Layla's decision with this. I'd never want to disappoint her.

Like earlier I was so sure she'd be scared of me but, she's not. The feeling I got when she told me she wasn't it was one of the most best feelings in the world.

Now all I want to do is see her.

"Alpha!" I looked behind me, seeing Zach's smiling face running over to me.

I slowed down for him to walk alongside me, "How many times do I have to tell you to call me Landon." I rolled my eyes at his loyalty but, fought back a smile.

"My bad, not used to it yet, so you finally killed one of them eh?" I glanced to see him trying to contain his smile.

I had told Zach why the guys were in the cells. For disrespecting her but, when I did I was so pissed that I told him how they abused her as well. Never have I ever told him the full story, that's Layla's and hers only to tell. I'd never tell it without her consent, I'd never do that to her. Needless to say he's hated them with me ever since.

"Yeah, I have." I shook my head at the memory it all happened so fast and before I got the chance to blink, he was dead.

"Good for you, Steven was a dick and he obviously wasn't grateful to be alive." he scoffed and I nodded in agreement, "Speaking of which what did you want me to do with the body, I've stored it in one of the empty cells for now."

"Do whatever you want he doesn't deserve a funeral." I growled, while the stone path that led to my house came into view.

"The river it is." I smirked letting a laugh out at how satisfied he sounded, it was fine by me as well, "How's Layla feeling?" he asked.

"She's good, just a bit shocked but, good." I stated, thinking of her smile right about now.

"That's good, maybe later I can go say hi but, for now river duties." he stated with a dark chuckle backing away.

Jake growled possessively, he grumbled, I shook my head.

No one can ever have her, she's ours.

When I walked through the house, I found everyone in the living room. Layla was sitting on the couch and I felt how in shock she was. Jacob was sitting next to her and Genevieve was standing off to Jacobs side, holding a sleeping Dawn.

"Love, what's wrong?" I rushed over to her and she looked to me, surprise in her eyes.

Jake growled out.

"Um-"

"What'd you do?" I growled at Jacob, as I was about to stand Layla touched my arm.

"No Landon he didn't do anything." she spoke softly before she turned her head to look at Jacob.

"I need some time, um when I'm ready to talk I'll go to you." she smiled a bit, and I grew confused.

"Yeah of course." he returned a smile and got up.

Genevieve and Layla said goodbye and they were off leaving me even more confused. She turned to me and I cupped her cheek with my palm. Brushing away some hair, her green eyes filled with conflict.

"What is it?" I asked gently.

"H-he's my brother." she uttered with disbelief in her tone.

My eyes widen, my mind filling with tons of questions, "A-and my dads dead." her gaze casted down.

The silence was eerily quite, I could feel how much she was hurt by that. Especially how shocked she was about Jacob. I mean I have no clue how I'd feel finding out I have a brother I never knew about. But, it also surprised me as well I mean, now that I've thought about it. They do resemble one another and that's probably why he kept looking at her.

When I looked at her, there were tears brimming her eyes, "Oh no baby." I cupped her face, turning her head to face me.

I pecked her lips softly pulling away to wipe at her tears, "I know I shouldn't be crying over him when he left me but, I just, I guess that just makes me stupid huh?"

"What, no love, never, come here." she looked up at me with her bloodshot eyes.

She shuffled over to me and I grabbed her by her hips to place her on my lap. Her head resting on my chest. While her legs cuddled up to her chin, she was so tiny she could put herself into a ball on my lap. I stroked at her long black hair, kissing her head for comfort.

"He was your dad of course it hurts, I'm sorry." I whispered, stroking the side of her arm with my free hand.

I felt her hand tighten around my shirt, that always made my heart speed up. Especially since it's something she always does.

She sighed, "Jacob said before my parents joined this pack they had him but, a rogue had crossed the borders and taken him when he was about five, my parents couldn't handle being in the pack anymore so they moved to this one, that's when they had me." she explained softly and I listened giving her kisses to her head every now and then.

My hand slid down her arm to hold her hand, "And why did they leave you?" I questioned, hating the fact that they did that.

"He said they searched for him and once they found out where he was, they wanted him back and left me, in the process my dad was killed." I kissed her hand, caressing it a bit, "And I guess my mom just didn't want to come back for me, she always told me I looked like my dad." I frowned hearing her voice sound so sad.

I pressed my lips to her head, "I'm so sorry love."

I still had tons of questions but, I didn't want to bombard her with them. She just found out her dad has been dead all this time. And that she has a brother. But, I wanted to know why Jacob didn't tell her sooner he's been in this pack for a little over a year now.

She snuggled more into me, "Jacob told me he didn't find out about me until his sixteenth birthday and when he did he left my mom to search for me for two years eventually landing him here."

"Why didn't he ask if you were here in this pack then?" I asked aloud before I had a chance to stop myself.

"He did, at the time everyone was scared of being an outcast like me so they lied and said they didn't know me." she sighed again and I tilted her head upwards so I could kiss her lips.

When I did she melted into me, I smiled into the kiss loving how I could calm her racing thoughts. Kissing her always felt so heavenly. I slowly pulled away with a smile on my face, one gracing her features as well.

"What about Genevieve didn't she know you?" I asked.

"He never told her about me and of his past, so she didn't even know until today." her tone was more calmed and not shaky anymore which made me glad she wasn't so worked up, "So when he met me he started asking Genevieve lots of questions until he realized it was actually me."

I ran my fingers through her hair, while our eyes stayed locked on one another's, "Well how does it feel to have a brother then."

I glanced to our hands that caressed one another's. It made me a bit nervous. But, I love how perfectly her tiny hand fit against my bigger one.

She laughed a bit, "I don't know, kind of all feels surreal." I laughed a bit, leaning forward to kiss her forehead.

"I'd believe so." I chuckled.

"But, hey guess what." she stated, with a spark in her eyes that I love watching light up.

"What?" I stroked the side of her face while my other hand stayed locked with her hand.

"Jacob told me Genevieve and him are married, Dawns my niece and Genevieve is my sister in law and you're my mate I have a real family that years ago I could only dream of having." she smiled and my heart felt so full of happiness knowing she's happy.

"I love you Layla and one day will have a family of our own." I whispered, her cheeks flushing a bit.

Our lips touched and in this moment I knew our lives together were only beginning.
