《Bruised (Not Edited)|✔️》Chapter 28

'Get up' a gruff voice whispered in my ear. The owner of the voice later planted a wet kiss on my face, and then trailed their tongue along my cheek.

"Five more minutes" I mumbled rolling over on my side and burying my face in the pillow.

"Ava we're not doing this again!" the annoying voice complained.

"Fine! Have it your way" the person said in a defeated voice.

Shortly after I could hear retreating footsteps, so I assumed that the person had finally left me to get back to my sleep. I sighed deeply, burying my face even more into the pillow inhaling Jayden's alluring scent.

Just as I felt myself drift back to sleep, my eyes shot open. I jumped out of the bed and put my hands up in a defensive stance ready to blast the culprit who was responsible for waking me up.

With the sleep long gone from my eyes, I was able to make out the figure before me. There stood Jayden with a bucket in one hand and a mischievous smirk on his face.

When I finally relaxed seeing as though it was only my mate, I realized that I was freezing. I looked down at my now soaked clothes and immediately put a hand over my chest. I was wearing one of Jayden's white shirt with no bra, so you could already guess that he was enjoying the view from his wet shirt sticking to my body.

"Couldn't you have woken me up like a normal person?" I complained. My teeth chattering as I shivered from the cold.

"I did try... Several times" he said with an eye roll.

"Well..." I honestly didn't have anything to say to that.

"Cat got your tongue, sweetheart?" he teased.

"Shut up!" I lamely retorted and stormed out the room.

As soon as I was in the bathroom, I closed the door with the lock. Jayden had a tendency to walk in whenever he pleased. Normally, when that happened, we'd end up spending at least an hour in here, but not today.

"Hey" I heard him call from the other side of the bathroom door.

"Not today buddy" I said with a goofy grin.

"Not fair" I could picture him sulking on the other side of the door.

"Life's not fair"

"Fine, meet me at the training field in fifteen minutes"

Upon hearing this, I instantly groaned already dreading leaving the bathroom. Training was no fun, and serious Jayden was even less fun.

I did my usual business in the bathroom and then changed into a sports bra, yoga pants and a pair of trainers. I put my hair up in a high ponytail and walked out of the house. I no longer stayed at the pack house, because according to Jayden 'we needed our privacy and it was time for us to live together'.

I wasn't complaining though, because living with Jayden was the best. He was almost never home and when he was he made sure that we spent every second together.

There were times when I was doubtful of our relationship, because I was just eighteen, and he was twenty-five. I was turning nineteen in a week, but I just felt like we were moving too fast or, I would mess up.

Being in a relationship was scary as hell. It was even more terrifying for me, because this was my first relationship ever. I'm sure he has been in many relationships before, but I had no experience whatsoever when it came to this.

He would often tell me not to overthink it, and just go with the flow. But I couldn't help but overthink everything I did. Even when I doubted myself, he never did. He always understood and was patient with me which was one of the many reasons why I fell in love with him.

I honestly couldn't ask for a better mate.

...

"You're late" Jayden said with a pissed off look on his face.

"Sorry" I replied sheepishly.

"As of now whenever you are late you will run one hundred laps around this field" he said with a straight face.

"Are you serious?" I asked incredulously.

"Did I stutter Miss. Carter?" He asked with no hint of amusement in his voice.

He wasn't joking.

I turn around and stomped off muttering a bunch of colorful words under my breath which I was sure that he heard, but I didn't care.

With a loud huff, I started my long journey around the field. The field was huge, it took me at least two minutes to run a full lap, using wolf speed. I couldn't help but glare daggers at Jayden's back every time I ran pass his relaxed figure standing tall.

The field was occupied with other members of the pack training, so I would have to dodge people every now and then as I went around.

By the time that I was done, my body was exhausted. I collapsed on the ground, breathing hard trying to catch my breath. I threw an arm over my eyes as I stayed like that for a few seconds.

"Get up!" that annoying authoritative voice came from above me.

I didn't move. My body ached from having to run for so long, and I wasn't planning on moving anytime soon.

Without any warning, someone grabbed my leg and pulled me off the ground. I was upside down, with my eyesight in line with the person's crotch.

"I don't have time for this" Jayden said walking with me still upside down.

He put me down gently and this time when he ordered me to get up, I did. We spent the rest of the morning with him training me. He didn't hold back and neither did I.

By the end of our training session, I was beyond exhausted.

"Hey, you ok?" Elsa asked when she had manage to catch up with me, which wasn't hard since I could hardly walk.

"Just peachy" I replied sarcastically.

"I see that he didn't go easy on you, which must have been hard for him"

"No. He seems to have enjoyed my suffering" I grunted.

"No, he didn't. He looked like he was in pain seeing you in pain" she said with a sad smile.

I laughed at her response.

"You have to understand that he takes training very serious. I know he just want what's best for you, which is to be able to protect yourself if anything were to happen. Plus he went easy on you" she finished with a grin.

"Easy?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. He'd normally be a lot tougher and rougher, but he was patient with you. From where I was standing, I could see that he was holding back"

"I know that I have to train, but serious Jayden is really scary. It's just that I'm use to him always being gentle and kind, that I forgot that he could also be ruthless." I said with a sigh.

"You'll get used to it" she said trying to cheer me up.

I followed her to the pack house, because for some reason I felt an overwhelming need to go there. It was like my body had a mind of its own.

"Luna, thank god you're here" an elderly woman approached me as soon as we step inside.

"What's wrong?" I asked alarmed.

"It's Andy." Andy was the boy that I healed on my first day here. I have been keeping tabs on him since I came back, because I heard that he lost both his parents during the period when I was gone.

"Is he ok?" I rushed out.

"He had a panic attack, but he refuses to talk to anyone except you" she clarified.

"Lead me to him"

She led the way to the kitchen where a frightened Andy sat squishing himself in the corner. He had tear stains on his face, evidence that he had been crying.

"Hey Andy" I said carefully and he ran into my arms.

I took him up off the floor and held him in my arms. Andy reminded me of myself when I was his age. The only difference was that I had no one to comfort my six year old self after the loss of my mother and I wanted to make sure that Andy always had someone there for him.

We had gotten close since I came back. I'd always visit him at the orphanage to check up on him and take him out for ice-cream and other treats.

It was in that moment, with little Andy clinging to me for dear life that I made a life changing decision.
