Bucky didn't let go of your arm. You were glad. His grip was holding you up, holding you against him, your knees buckling while his gorgeous lips explored yours.
His other arm wrapped around your waist, dragging you closer as he kissed you again, hot, urgent, needy.
"Stop!" You said, pulling back and trying to push him away at the same time. He growled, moving his hand from your elbow to the back of your head, trying to pull you back in, but you pushed harder. "STOP!" You yelled, making the lights crackle, and flicker.
He let you push him away that time. He looked up at the lights, then back at you. He took a step forward.
"STOP!" You yelled again, making him freeze when one of the bulbs blew overhead.
"I've stopped." He said calmly, his hands up as if surrendering to you. You breathed heavily, staring back at him.
"I don't know what you want from me."
"Luka I -"
"Stop saying my name!" You ran your hands through your hair, spinning on your heel and stomping across the room again. "I don't need you to watch me 24/7, to be around me all the time. I was fine, FINE before I met you, no threats, no attacks, then YOU turned up and all of a sudden they found me!" You ranted. He stayed silent. "I don't need someone to look after me, I can fucking take down anyone that I want to so just FUCK OFF!"
The lights sizzled again. Bucky eyed them suspiciously, hearing the loud current whizzing through the cables, before taking a deep breath. He was in dangerous territory.
You were riled. Riled beyond the petty jabs and insults you usually hurled at him, you were . He understood. You'd been attacked, you were fresh out of an ambush - you felt vulnerable. Hydra had found you again, and the only thing that had changed was Bucky. And Bucky was the face of Hydra. You didn't trust anything right now.
You were also right in saying that you didn't need anyone to fight your battles. From what he's seen so far, just from you getting pissed off, your powers were more than he could offer. He almost wanted to agree that you didn't need him.
Then he remembered what Tony said, all those weeks ago, when this arrangement first started.

'With everything that's happened between us, I don't think you would double cross me, even if she asks you to.'
Tony had asked him to keep you safe. So far, he hadn't done a very good job. Tony was telling him to keep you safe now.
He owed the guy. You were in danger. That took precedence over your arrogance right now.
Straightening up, Bucky looked at you, his decision made. You were panting from your anger, staring at a spot just above the floor in front of him, not directly at him.
"I'm doing what Tony says." He said. Your eyes shot up to him, and narrowed.
"What?"
"I'm doing what Tony says." He repeated, slowly walking towards you. "He says I'm your bodyguard, that's what I'm gonna be."
He reached you, standing in front of you, towering over you. You wanted to be angry, to be pissed off. But him standing so close, the look on his face, it made it all disappear. You couldn't think of anything to say.
"Now, where are we going?" He asked. You glared at him.
"Ask Tony. Apparently I have no say in my life anymore." You walked to the sofa, falling onto it, and watching him get his phone out, texting the billionaire.
You picked at your fingernails, both of you in silence, waiting for Tony's response. When it came through, you didn't even look up at the soldier when he said you were going back to the lab. You just got up, headed to the door, only looking directly at him when he held his arm out before opening the remotely unlocked door, telling you to stay behind him. You rolled your eyes, wanting to say something, wanting to remind him that this was a level, that you had infinite levels of power, but you held your tongue.
He led you to the elevator, guiding you to the corner so that he could stand in front of you, shielding you from nothing. Probably just showing off that he could scout an environment. The doors closed with no sound other than a light ding. You were breathing silently. So was he. There was nothing else that either of you wanted to say. Not right now at least.
You wanted to tell him to leave you alone. You wanted to tell him that everytime you looked at him now, he reminded you that he used to work for Hydra, and that they were after you again.

He wanted to tell you that he was angry. Angry at letting Stark take you, angry that he didn't stop them getting in the compound, angry that all he wanted was to touch you, and he could tell that you despised him again.
But you both stayed in silence.
Bucky walked out of the elevator two steps ahead of you, but he kept looking back, checking you were still there. You followed obediently. You didn't have any more fight in you today. You'd only just recovered from your...outburst, and then this whole situation had drained you once again.
You followed him to the lab, him opening the door first, then going to put a hand on your back to guide you in, but you walked forward quickly. You couldn't take him touching you right now.
You froze in your tracks when you saw everyone else standing in there.
Clint, Sam, Nat, Bruce, Steve, Tony, Rhodey, Wanda, Vision - almost the whole gang.
"What..." You said, faintly hearing the door shut behind you, and Bucky moved round to join the others.
"Ahh, you're back. Welcome." Tony said, stepping forward, his eyes widening, like he was trying to tell you something. He clapped a hand on your shoulder and turned back to the others. "I was just getting everyone up to speed."
"Sorry that you got caught in the middle of the Hydra attack." Steve said, his low, charming voice confusing you. "We should have seen it coming. Tony said you took a hit?"
You blinked. Then glanced at Tony, who was nodding slightly.
"I...yeah. I'm fine though." You replied, slowly taking your eyes away from Stark.
"Well they obviously knew we were going to the Peru base, and waited until we were gone so they could attack the compound. Still not sure what they were looking for," Nat said, pausing briefly to catch your eye. "But we found a lot of bodies. Hydra agents." She clarified when she caught you looking panicked.
"They just dropped dead." Bruce added. "Must have been the electrical fault, whatever that was, it seems to have gotten to their earpieces and fried their brains."
You flicked your eyes back to Tony. He didn't tell them. He made it seem like a random attack, and you just happened to be in the middle. You nodded, breathing slowly, cooling your heart down.
"What I was updating the team on," Tony said. "Is that I'm going to be upping security. Our floors will have a new circuit of cameras. I'm gonna put hand scanners on every floor and every door, give you all tracking bracelets and...we all need to stay in the building. Obviously Thor is staying with Nebula and the build-a-bear, Parker is sticking to his own little neighbourhood and Miss Danvers is...well on one of the millions of other planets. So it's just us. Someone leaked information that we were going to Peru, we need to close ranks until we find out who."
The team nodded. You nodded a few seconds later.
"Amy." You took half a beat to realise that he meant you, and you looked up at Steve. "Nat is gonna put you through some training."
"Training?" You replied, your face giving away your disdain at the thought.
"You're the only one that isn't..." He waved his hand.
"An Avenger?" You raised an eyebrow at him. He glanced at the floor briefly, clearly not wanting to answer you.
"She's gonna help you get some basic fighting skills. I know you're not on the team, but it's just in case it happens again."
You wanted to laugh. You were sure that Tony and Bucky were the same. You could fight. Not in the way that they could, but you didn't need to know how to punch when you could do what you do.
"Fine." You decided to say. "I guess we have some security to build." You said to Tony. He nodded, then said goodbye to the team, who began to file out of the lab. Then, all that was left was you, Tony and Bucky.
"I know you're not happy with this-" Tony started, but you whipped round to him.
"You really think I need training on how to fight? That I need some ex-Hydra scum sticking to me 24/7?!" You hissed at him. He stayed silent. "I'll do it. But I'm not talking to either of you unless I have to."
With that, you stormed off to your room, machines powering up as you walked past them. Tony sighed when he heard your door slam.
