《The Author Who Became A Villainess》Arc 3: Chapter 41

Elenor was standing with her brother as people greeted them. Although they try to make a conversation with her, she would blatantly ignore them, never once glancing at them. This of course caused them great annoyance but they never voiced it out and kept an awkward smile on their face.
Her status was higher than all of them.
Elenor was holding her drink in her hand lazily as her eyes roamed around the room. As she took a sip of her drink she finally found who she had been searching for since she stepped foot into this room.
Long wavy baby pink hair. Dark violet eyes that shined brightly. A faint mole under the right eye. Fair soft skin.
It was her main protagonist.
Seeing her for the first time ever made Elenor feel overwhelmed. She felt all kinds of happy emotions. Her protagonist she created and loved was standing there all fleshed out and not just written.
All she wanted to do was walk over to her and engulf her in a hug but held herself back. Doing that would gain attention from everyone and she wasn't trying to do that. Trying to keep herself calm, she continued drinking her drink until someone stopped her.
"You shouldn't drink so much." Alec commented, taking the drink away from her.
"I'm the age to be able to drink." she countered but didn't make any effort to take the drink back.
"Elenor, I'm going to talk to someone for a bit." Richard spoke up.
She nodded and watched as her brother headed off to speak to someone, probably about work in the palace. Elenor knew people were eyeing on her, wanting to speak to her but with her cold gaze that showed no signs of welcoming, they backed off.
She heaved a soft sigh and turned to Alec who quietly stood beside her.
"Are you hungry?" he suddenly asked, turning his gaze towards her.
Elenor shook her head. "No. It's almost time for the dance as well."
"Yo Elenor," a voice abruptly spoke, gaining her attention.

"Hello your highness." Elenor smiled and slightly bowed.
They were in front of many people so she had to be proper and polite. Lloyd knew this so he said nothing and continued speaking.
"Is your brother still going to dance with you?"
Elenor slightly rolled her eyes, "I am not dancing with you."
"Why not?!" he whined.
"Because I want to dance with my brother."
Lloyd clicked his tongue, "Fine then, hmph!"
"So childish," she snickered to herself.
Elenor was going to say something else but stopped herself once she noticed Lloyd had gone quiet. His eyes pointed in a certain direction. Following his gaze, she turns to see he was looking at the same person she had been trying to search for. A lady standing further away from the crowds, looking bored out of her mind as she watched people chit chat.
Instantly, she turned back to Lloyd. His face seemed slightly dazed and he still didn't say a word. Elenor's adrenaline soon kicked in. It was happening and right in front of her! She had a vip seat to watch everything unfold in front of her!
"Are you going to ask her for a dance?" Elenor asked Lloyd, deciding she might as well give him a small push.
He whipped his head back at her and seemed a bit flustered. "What..what are you talking about?"
Elenor sighed, shaking her head. "You were looking at Earl Stout's daughter."
"..."
"Her name is Rosina Millie Stout if I recall."
"...Elenor.." Lloyd weakly called out to her.
Elenor turned to him and brightly smiled, "Go and invite her for the dance. Perhaps she doesn't have a partner?"
Lloyd pondered over her suggestion, thinking of the pros and cons before ultimately giving in. He nodded and made his way towards her. Elenor silently watched the two interact. At first she was worried it wouldn't work out but it seems like she was wrong as everything turned out for the better.

The two were having a small chat together and they seem to be enjoying it. Elenor proudly nodded to herself before turning to Alec.
"I feel like a wingman for Lloyd!" she joked, chuckling to herself.
"Wingman?"
Elenor casually took back the drink from Alec as she answered his question, "It's when someone helps out a person with the person they are interested in."
"I see."
After that, the dance began. Richard came back in time and danced with Elenor. While she danced with her brother, her eyes would roam back to Lloyd and Rosina. They truly looked like the main characters and she hoped they would reach their happy ending.
When the dance was over, Elenor returned back to the same spot she had been standing at, Alec still with her the whole time. She finished her first glass so she took another and continued drinking.
Lloyd and Rosina were nowhere to be seen so Elenor assumed they had left the ballroom and into the royale garden. She remembered writing that scene and although she would very much want to watch it all happen, she knew she would easily expose herself and get caught.
'Safer to be here and let their love bloom by itself.'
Although she thought that, it soon turned to be a bore as nothing interesting happened. Other than the fact, she did see the anger in Isabella's eyes when she saw Lloyd dancing with another girl.
"Milady don't drink so much."
"I won't get drunk easily." Elenor waved his warning off and continued drinking another glass after another.
Alec just watched as she continued drinking the night away. He looked on with a concerned look on his face and everytime he tried to stop her, she would hold her drink tightly and continue on.
"Whoa! These are really good!" Elenor praised eagerly, downing another glass again.
"Milady you're drunk," Alec pointed out quietly.
Elenor shook her head and giggled, "No way~ I'm perfectly fine, see?"
She fumbled with her feet, walking shakily. She stopped moving and looked back up at Alec. Burst of giggles slipped through her lips as she found something like this, silly.
Then she frowned and lightly jabbed her finger on Alec's chest, emphasizing every word, "I. Am. Not. Drunk."
Alec took in a deep breath and nodded, holding onto her so she wouldn't accidentally fall. "Milady, could you count how many fingers I'm holding up right now?"
She intensely counted before her eyes lit up, "Five!"
"...Milady I only put two fingers up."
"No you put five don't lie to me."
"Milady..."
"Oh drinks!" Elenor reached out towards the waiter who was walking by them with the drinks but Alec grasped her hand, not letting her take another glass.
"Let me go!" she whined, trying to get out of Alec's strong grip.
"I think it's time for us to go back home milady."
Elenor shook her head, "Noo not yet, I still need to know what happens with my babies.."
"Milady you're drunk."
"Alec.."
Elenor turned to Alec. Her eyes were wide and watery, creating a puppy eye effect. With her bottom lip sticking it, it gave a softer look. Alec's lips formed a thin line before looking away.
"My lord," Alec called out towards Richard.
"Milady has drank too much for her own good so is it alright if I bring her back home first?" Alec asked, still trying to stop Elenor from getting another drink.
Richard stared at his baby sister. He let out a small chuckle but nodded. "Alright, let's all go back then."
Richard first bid everyone he was chatting with a farewell before they all left the royale palace. Elenor was now pouting since she wasn't able to get another drink but once they got into the carriage, she easily passed out, leaning against Alec's shoulder for support.
