"Wait, what?" Drake muttered, keeping his voice at a low level as he glanced around the plane.

I nodded.

"He's a demon? Demon's are real?"

Once again, I nodded.

"Holy shit." He breathed. "So, like, he put you under a curse so he could control you and make you think that you were in love with him..., right?"

Another nod.

I gripped Corey's hand tightly, my eyes scanning the passenger's around us, making sure no one was hearing this.

"For what purpose exactly? Besides he's evil."

Corey spoke then, leaning over a bit to look at Drake from my right side. "My guess is because she's Queen. He was going to use her to control the country."

"Shit," Drake cursed. "Guess you're pretty damn lucky you figured it now, huh?"

Corey nodded. "Yeah," He agreed scathingly.

"Bells, how come you didn't tell mom and dad? Just leave 'em in New York, oblivious. Like fuck 'em."

I shook my head just a bit. "It's not like that. I just didn't want to involve them, they complicate things. Besides, Corey and I have it under control. Or," I paused. "More like Corey has it under control."

"Dude," Drake looked at Corey, leaning up from his seat. "You need to be King. You could fuckin' rock at that job. You're perfect."

Corey looked at him with surprise at first but then disbelief. "How so?"

"You're smart, you're good at planning, you're amazing under stress...the list goes on. You have the qualities to make a good leader. Really, you do."

"Except for the fact he hates people." I added.

"Well, if you ever were to get over that...you'd really be perfect."

Corey glanced out the window, looking thoughtful.

When we got off the plane we met Corey's family at the airport.

I was going back to their house with them and Corey was going with Drake back to the castle.

"So, I'll see you in a little bit." Corey said, his eyes on mine as we said goodbye before parting.

I nodded.

"I love you."

"I love you too." I smiled lightly.

We kissed and when we pulled away I noticed he looked anxious.

"You okay?" I inquired.

"Yeah, just..." He exhaled heavily. "I just don't like leaving you."

Giving an encouraging smile I said; "Well, I'll see you soon."

He nodded. "I know."

He gave me another kiss and I smiled at him. "This was your idea."

"I know and it was good a one. This is necessary."

"Right,"

Drake came up to us, a cigarette smoking between his fingers. "Come on, man. The sooner you leave her the sooner you get to see her again."

Corey nodded, still looking at me. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Drake pulled him away. "fuckin' love birds..." He muttered, slinging his arm around Corey's shoulder and dragging him away with Corey looking back at me.

I let out a breath and turned to run into Mikey, my eyes going up to his as I took a step back. "Uh, sorry." I mumbled.

He grinned. "No problem." He wrapped an arm around me. "So, you're under our watch, huh?"

"I guess so." I said as we walked over to the rest of them, it was just Jake, Ivy and Mikey.

"Cool, we got the Queen." Mikey said. "What should we do with her?"

Jake spoke; "We're suppose to take her back to the house and keep her safe." He pushed MIkey's arm away from me. "Corey would be pissed if we did anything else. And I'm trying to get off his bad side so if you wouldn't mind, please don't do anything stupid."

Mikey rolled his eyes. "You are such a suck-up. Who cares if he gets pissed? Let's have fun!"

"Uh," Ivy spoke up. "I don't really want to have Corey pissed at me so...I'm with Jake on this one."

Jake gave Mikey a tight smile. "Let's get to the car. We shouldn't hang around here, the paparazzi might show up and that's the last thing we need. No one's supposed to know she's with us."

Jake led the way to a black Cadillac and opened the passenger-side door for me.

I gave him a small smile. "Thanks."

With Jake driving, we headed away from the airport to their house outside of town.

"So, what's it like being Queen?" Mikey asked, leaning up from the backseat.

"Uh..." I trailed off, looking for the right response.

"Mikey, please," Jake said. "Use a seatbelt."

"I'm a vampire you dumbass, I don't need a seat belt. Speaking of which, Arabelle, I hear you're a vampire now?"

"Uh-yeah. Half, but yeah." I answered.

"That's freaking awesome. The Queen's a vampire." He chuckled. "Priceless!"

Corey's P.O.V

I rubbed my eyes as I exited the library, carrying a few books in hand that I was reading and wanted to finish.

Apparently there was a lot more to know about demons than I originally thought, and also it was harder than I first assumed to find out how to kill them.

Most books just talked about their curses on people and mentioned the fact you had to kill them to really lift the curse, something I already knew.

But did they tell you how to kill them?

No.

My eyes were tired and strained from the constant reading, as was my mind as it drifted to thoughts of Arabelle.

I idly wondered what she was doing right now and hoped to god my brothers were behaving themselves.

Maybe I shouldn't have left her there...

Running a hand through my messy hair, I strolled to the kitchen where Drake was sitting at the island, drinking coffee and messing with his phone.

What in the hell did he do with that thing so much?

Shaking my head a bit, I took a seat across from him, thumping my books down on the counter.

It was after three in morning and I'd been researching for over four hours straight.

I wanted a shower, a smoke, and to see my girlfriend.

All of which I was planning on doing soon.

"Coffee?" Drake offered, sliding the mug towards me.

Nodding in acknowledgment, I picked it up, taking a long drink.

I sighed lightly, glancing down at the black liquid in the cup before taking another swig.

"How's the research going?" He questioned, looking away from his phone and over to me.

"Eh, okay?" I shrugged a bit. "Tiring. I still haven't read anything about how to kill them except that it can't be done by humans. Which isn't a problem considering I'm not one..."

He bobbed his head. "You sure about this? I mean, isn't there another way?"

"No. It's the only way to be sure the curse is completely lifted. I've read that a hundred times now."

"Mm," He glanced down. "So, when you do find out how to kill him...that's it? Dead?"

"Well, yeah, you got any other suggestions?"

"No. No, I guess not." He admitted.

I sighed, lifting the cover of one of the hardback books and leafing through it.

"You gonna head over to your family's house sometime soon? I can't imagine you leaving Bells there for too long without checking in."

I glanced up at him, my elbow propped on the counter and my hand resting against my chin. "Yeah, I'm gonna grab some clothes and head over."

Closing the book, I stood up, piling them back up into a stack.

"You're gonna need a car to drive, right?" He questioned.

"Well, I didn't plan on walking...." I muttered, a bit cocky.

"What I figured." He smiled, getting up from the island. He grabbed a pair of keys from the rack hanging on the wall and handed them to me. "You don't mind taking the Lamborghini, right?"

My lips curved up in a small, smug smile. "Not at all." I took the keys from him, grabbing my books as well.

"Don't work yourself too hard." He said as I headed out the kitchen.

"I won't." I responded smoothly, veering towards the staircase.

I saw Reaver heading down the hall as I reached the top and I moved my gaze away, avoiding him.

"Hello," He smiled pleasantly at me. "Back so soon from your trip? Where's Arabelle?"

Making sure the covers of the books weren't visible so he wouldn't get the idea I was researching demons, I answered; "Yeah, she's at a friend's house."

"Ah, I see. I'm guessing you're going over as well?"

Keeping my neurotic mind contained, I replied simply; "That's right."

I edged past him, quickly striding away.

I can't wait to kill that fucker.

Dragging a bit, I packed some clothes for both myself and Arabelle, using one of the small suitcases we brought to New York.

I stuffed the books inside on top of the clothes then zipped it up, swinging it over my shoulder.

I hesitated a moment, glancing around the bedroom. It felt odd when no one was in except myself.

I continued on, going back downstairs and out the front door.

I twirled the keys, my black sneakers crunching over the gravel in the dark driveway.

I glanced up at the moon as I walked before reaching the garage and going to black Lamborghini in the back.

I started the car, smiling a bit as I revved the engine.

"Sweet," I muttered to myself, putting the car in drive and pulling out of the garage.

Suitcase on the seat beside me, I lit a cigarette, rolling down the window as I drove down the highway.

I turned on the radio, scanning through the stations before giving up and looking through the CD's up front.

Of course there's never any good music on.

Picking up a CD, I glanced at the cover, reading; 'American Idiot'.

Cringing, I tossed it.

I shuffled through the rest, reading the covers and being disappointed when I did until I found a treasure; The Sex Pistols.

"Aw, fuck yeah." I smiled, putting it in the player and turning it up to a high volume.

Unwinding a bit during the car ride, I reached my family's house in a little under a half-hour, parking close to the house.

I got out of the car and slammed the door shut, a cigarette between my lips and the suitcase in my right hand.

The ends of my dark hair fell into my eyes as I walked to the front door, seeing lights glowing from inside.

When I opened the door and stepped inside I was greeted by Ivy, closing the door for me as I glanced down the hall, absentmindedly waiting to see Arabelle.

Before I could speak she did; "She's in the kitchen."

Answering my unspoken question, she smiled a bit.

"Mind if you put that out? Mom hates when you guys smoke in here."

Taking the cigarette between two fingers, I then noticed something was different about her.

"It's my hair." She stated, seeing my expression and knowing.

I realized her hair was dark red instead of the normal black.

"Ah," I nodded. "So, um, did-"

"I kept her away from Mikey and Jake for the most part." She interjected, again answering my question before I got it out. "That's what's with the hair." She smiled. "I wanted to find something to do and we started talking about hair...long story short we ended up buying hair dye from Wal-Mart."

"Uh, I see you two have been getting along well..."

"Yeah," She nodded. "She's great. We got along famously. And I kept Mikey from taking her out drinking so...you're welcome."

"I didn't say thank you." I pointed out.

She shrugged lightly. "Like I said, she's in the kitchen."

Looking away from her, I started down the hall to the kitchen.

"Uh," She spoke and I turned back around. "Cigarette?" She held out her hand.

Pursing my lips, I handed it to her.

"Thank you." She took it and threw it out the door.

I continued to the kitchen, stopping in the doorway and setting the suitcase down, my eyes going to Arabelle as she sat at the dining table, her hands clasped on the table in front of her and her eyes diverted down.

Her hair was black now and the curls were tamed to soft, messy waves, her chin-length bangs tucked behind her ears.

I let out a breath, feeling like a weight was lifted from my chest.

She looked over at me, smiling when her eyes met mine.

"Hey," I greeted, not being able to stop my own smile.

I walked over, pulling a chair close to hers and sitting down.

"Hi," She replied, her expression bright.

"I missed you." I leaned over, kissing her softly. "God, I missed you so much."

I pulled back slightly when I heard Mikey's voice; "Jeez, it was five hours, Corey. Get a grip." He rolled his eyes, strolling into the kitchen.

My expression darkened, eyes going to him. "Fuck off."

I felt Arabelle lace her fingers with mine and I glanced at her, softening my expression and putting a cap on my short-temper.

Irritation easing but still present, I made a move to get up, bringing Arabelle with me as I left the kitchen, grabbing the suitcase with my free hand, and headed back the hall to my room.

I set the small piece of luggage down by the door after I closed it.

"So," She started, looking up at me with an anxious expression. "Did you find anything?"

I looked at her for a long moment before answering; "Not really. I learned they can't be killed by humans. That's about it."

I reached down to the suitcase, letting go of her hand even though I didn't want to, and brought my books out, tossing them on the bed for me to read.

"Hopefully I'll find something useful in these..." I muttered, looking down at them.

I turned a bit, gazing back at her as she walked over, pushing the loose sleeves of her over-sized red and blue plaid shirt up then crossing her arms. "Can't they just be killed like anything else?"

"Define anything else." I stated.

She pursed her lips and I spoke again; "Like, a human? No. A vampire? Probably not. I know it's not something as simple as stabbing them in the heart. It's something else...I just don't know what." I sat down on the bed, exhaling slowly.

"They're not like humans or vampires. They're different. More...magical? If that's the word.

"Magical?" The corners of her mouth lifted.

"Well," I mumbled. "Yeah, they use magic."

"Magic?" She smiled. "Okay..."

"What? You don't know magic exists either? God, humans are so-"

"I'm not a human anymore, remember?" She pointed out.

"Ignorant." I finished. "And you were just 48 hours ago."

"Are you calling me ignorant?" She looked amused.

"When it comes to these things, yes you are." I stated simply, not meaning it to offend, just a fact.

She gave a slight shrug. "You're right. I guess I am. But I also guess I won't be anymore..."

"True." I stood up, ruffling my hair. "I'm gonna get in the shower."

She nodded and I leaned close, giving her a light kiss.

"I love you." I said to her, meaning it more than words could begin to express and more than I could even fathom.

"I love you too." She smiled.

"Ah, you wanna get in the shower with me?" I suggested, smirking.

"No thanks. I already had one earlier." She slid past me and sat down on the bed, picking up one of the books.

Disappointed, I looked towards the bathroom door.

One of these days...She's gonna take up my offer.

How in the hell does she resist it to begin with?

I mean come on, I'm fucking gorgeous.

Why would she not want to take a shower with me?

I sighed lightly, rambling in my head as I headed towards the bathroom.

I stopped at the door, looking back at her. "You sure?"

She glanced up from the book. "Uh huh,"

Damn it.

"Come on, Arabelle. You have a chance to see me, naked and wet. Why would you want to pass that up?"

The only thing that was funny was that I wasn't joking.

She laughed softly. "Just go take your shower."

I crossed my arms, looking away.

"Stop pouting, Corey and go take your damn shower." She laughed.

"Fine, whatever." I closed the bathroom door.

She has no idea what she's missing.
