Chapter Fourteen: Heartbeats

The sun has gone to rest, the moon takes his place as the darkness begins to surround the place as Jin looked from the window.

" Baby? are you okay?" Jiwon came and hugged him from the back.

The man stared at the road before turning to face her, concern all over his face " The road to the city from here is dangerous, We shouldn't let Y/N go alone."

Jiwon glanced uncomfortably at her boyfriend,the beat of her heart echoed inside her, he knew she did something wrong. " Jin.....s-should we stop her ?" The girl said, more like a whisper.

" Her boss called her, We can't tell her not to go." He sighed. Being in a relationship with her for about three years, Jin grow to read her expression and the one she was making now wasn't quite a good one." Jiwon? Is there something I don't know?"

Before Jiwon start talking again when you walked downstairs.

" Jiwon sshi..." You walked toward her holding a bag " I am sorry I didn't get you a birthday gift but I hope you accept this..." You opened the bag and took the small Jazmine shrubs " When I heard it's a mountain house I knew you'll have a place where you can put those, I thought it will be fun and memorable if you plant them together with someone you love..." You shyly looked down a little embarrassed and scared of looking at her reaction " W-watching grow can be so beautiful..."

You looked at the girl, she gave you a smile that just seems so genuinely sweet with just the right touch of shyness that unexpected warmth rushes through you. She liked it.

" T-that's so sweet.." She took the shrubs even though they were a bit dirty. " It's.....P-probably the best gift I received." Her eyes looked at the shrubs like a mother looks at her babies, the girl bite her lips and looked up to your happy eyes.

" I am glad you like it." You smiled more " Thanks for having me here, I should get going now."

Jiwon's smile died faster than wisps of smoke dissipated after a candle flame has been snuffed out when you mentioned leaving, The girl felt bad but when she looked at Yuju she just looked down feeling guilty yet powerless.

with that you said goodbye to everyone, and left.

About an hour later.

The door clicked open and a man wearing a black hoodie over his head and a half cover face mask as if he didn't want to face anyone entered.

Jungkook looked up when he felt the eyes on him, taking his hoodie off his head and the mask away, His dark hair furled down the nape of his neck while his fringe covered the right side of his face, going a little past his jaw-line, the man he looked around at the awkward faces looking at him. " what's going on here?"

" Y-you're back...." Yuju walked toward him but his eyes found his hyung's, a worried eye he saw . He ignored the girl next to him.

" Where are you going? " Jungkook began, his tone serious and empty.

" Y/N....." Jimin began " Y/N left...."

" Left? " Jungkook raised his eye brow " Left where? "

" H-her boss called her.."Yuju answered with an awkward chuckle.

" I didn't ask you." Jungkook was cold with his words which made everyone surprised, he totally sound like another person, " Is this true?" He looked at Jin

He nodded " Y-yeah, They asked for her in the hospital." He paused "The head of department told her that some VIP asked for her, ."

" VIP? " Jungkook's eye brow raised and looked at Yuju suspiciously, the girl noticed his stares and looked away biting her lips. " And she left alone?" He looked at Jin the the boys one by one again his jaw seems to clenched "Like in this dark she left alone?"

"Tae offered to take her but she said it was fine--" Hoseok started " She took Yuju's car."

"Are you y'all serious?.." He asked then looked at Yuju trying to keep his frustration in check, following his gaze everyone knew what he was thinking." With your car?"

" Jungkook ah ...Nothing happened, She's the one who decided to leave." The youngest man received a threatening glare from Jin, but Jungkook took a deep breath before starting to talk again.

Jungkook ignored the man and walked upstairs to the room.

The first thing he did was throw his jacket in the bed and went to his bag to look for a change, his phone in his ear as he supported with his shoulder.

After three rings, you answered.

"H-hello!."

" Where are you? " Jungkook asked feeling the uncertainty in your voice.

" I.....I am g-going home." The man heard from the other side of the phone which made him take his hand and held the phone with it now.

" I thought you're going to the hospital? " Jungkook said, confused.

" Y-yeah That's where I w-was going but........" You paused and his fist clenched tightly as he waited for you to continue " They just called and said it was a mistake, So......"

" So you won't come back? And you're going home? " The man asked

" Y-yeah, I think It's better." You said " Thanks for everything, I really had fun and.........sorry I didn't tell you before leaving."

" Y/N ah......"

" Please tell Yuju sshi thanks for lending me her car and can you send me where I can take it back?" You asked

" I will take care of this." Jungkook sighed " Good night." those where his last words before ended the call. He throw the phone away as he pursed his lips thinly and clenched his teeth messing his hair after this.

" Fucking shit.." He cursed then wore his clothes and grabbed his things before starting to walk away only to be stopped by Yuju next to the door.

" W-where are you going? " The girl asked placing her hands on her hips.

Jungkook stopped and glared at the gilr " It's you, isn't?"

"Huh?"

Jungkook just laughed and then smirked " The hospital told Y/N the call was a mistake, And I just remembered your cousin's husband is the director of that hospital" Jungkook watched Yuju's widening as she kept listening to him " You asked her to call Y/N, didn't you?"

Yuju rolled her eyes " Oh!....No you might think I did, I j----"

" I don't misunderstand." He cut her words, a small laugh escaped her lips looking down " I am sure."

" Jeon Jungkook.." She looked up at him.

Jungkook licked his lips and looked around sighing " You become so strange lately, I know that you care about our relationship but did you have to do this?" The man was trying as hard as he can to remain calm and talk like an adult, He tried to respect the fact that the girl next to him was his girlfriend for so long, he tried to respect the memories and the days they spent together but for some reason he can't help but to think she changed totally.

" I said I didn't." Yuju argued back, anger welled up in her chest even though she was lying she didn't like the fact that Jungkook didn't believe her. " Just because I knew a person in her hospital doesn't mean I did it."

Jungkook was boiling with anger at this point, Yuju has gone crazy. " Yeah right, coincidence like this happen all the time." Jungkook kept his eyes on hers. " You even gave her your car, Who would believe that?"

" I said I didn't do it, Why aren't you listening to me?" Yuju glared at him.

"Is there anything that I should listen?" He added and the breathe was cut in her chest " Jiwon noona is acting weird too....."

Yuju swallowed the lump that formed in her throat and looked away "Oh....She..."

" She knows, doesn't she? " Jungkook cut her again "Y/N was feeling unwelcome from you from the beginning but she didn't mind as long as Jiwon was nice to her, Tell me you didn't ask Jiwon to help you out.."

Jungkook watch as Yuju's head was down while her eyes wondering around, she was nervous and here he knew he got her. " You asked me to hear you out, so tell me..."

Yuju gritted her teeth in nervous frustration before looking up at his eyes, " Okay... I honestly don't like her, since when were you so close? She sticks to you like a glue." She let out, her anger coiled in her stomach "Don't you think it's too much? You met like....two weeks ago."

Jungkook didn't answer and just kept listening but he could notice the flames of anger that licked through her.

"Whenever you see her, you behave like I am invisible " She added " You laugh about things that I don't know and everything we talk about since I came is her, Why? .... Why are you doing this? She can't fit into our group, she's different."

" You look so pathetic." The man said " If it's because of your ego, You can stop now." his words packed a powerful punch. Carefully spoken, without drama, his words had an air of finality to them and no matter how hard she railed against them, nothing would change his mind. " You can't fall further."

And she knows that.

" I ....."

" I think I didn't know you all along." He nodded his head in disappointment. Words flew from his mouth that he never thought he'd even think, let alone say out loud. he knew instantly from the look in her eyes that they'd hit their mark. In that instant their relationship shattered into glassy shards. Nothing would ever be the same again.

He sighed and took his car key and put it down the bed next to him." You can take my car, I will send yours as soon as possible."

With this he walked passed her and left the room, running down stairs.

" Jungkook...." Yoongi stopped next to the door and watched his friend wearing his shoes.

" Yaaaaaa..." An angry looking Yuju walked down stairs as well. " I don't need this." she throw the car key near Jungkook's feet as anger heated her blood " Take it. Take it.....Take it and give it to your precious wife..." She cried out but Jungkook ignored her.

" Hyung, I will take your car." He said to Yoongi

" I SAID TAKE IT." Yuju yelled and run to where she throw the key before throwing it at the man again but this time it hit his cheek causing him to groan in pain for a second.

" WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? " Yoongi yelled at her when he saw the blood on his younger friend's face.

The loud voices made everyone run toward them from the kitchen.

" What........" They all stood there in silence as Yoongi start to speak.

"I don't give a fuck if you're angry or hurt." The man glared at her but Jungkook didn't wait another second before taking Yoongi's key and walk away the house.

" Jungk------" Jimin was about to walk behind him but he was stopped by Jin.

All the eyes turned to Yoongi who kept glaring at the woman who has her tears falling down her cheeks now.

"If you two argued because of Y/N, Let me tell you this Kim Yuju sshi.." Yoongi added" Y/N is the girl who helped him avoid the embarrassment that was about to create the biggest scandal which could cause his career to end, Do you understand? You almost ruined his life, You have no right to come and question his behavior, If it was my I wouldn't even talk to you...." his eyes flashed with indigence and anger, much like lightning on a pitch black night." I haven't told Jungkook shit but no one is gonna stop me if you kept acting like bitch."

Yoongi, the man of few words ended this words and walked away passing by the others who were there confused.

He cursed ?

What did he mean 'haven't told Jungkook shit?'

" Yuju ya...." Jiwon walked toward her friend and hugged her "I told you it's a bad idea...."

" Noona..." Hoseok started " Mind explaining what's going on?" He asked his sister.

Probably everyone had an idea of what happen but Jungkook's reaction was making them curious.

" N-nothing they just had a-------"

" WHAT? ARE Y'ALL GONNA LECTURE ME AS WELL??" Yuju pushed Jiwon away and yelled " What if i wanted to be with my boyfriend with her being stick to him all the time? "

" What do you mean? " Jin calmly said.

Jungkook drove the red car down the road with many thoughts in his head, but all he wanted to think now was how he's gonna face you while feeling so bad.

Because of him you had to leave in the dark while being tired, If something happened to you how was he gonna feel?

Jungkook ignored the burning feeling in his left cheek as he could feel blood slowly dropping to stain his jacket, he just grabbed a shirt or whatever it was in the backseat of Yoongi's car and wiped his cheek with it.

After about an hour and half, Jungkook finally parked the car next to the building. He wanted to call you first but he decided that he should just go and talk to you.

He sighed and walked inside the building then the door, it was around 11 in the evening there so he didn't made so much noise.

He rang the bell and waited.

" I am coming..." he heard a female voice then the door went open. "Hello? "

Jungkook stared at the unfamiliar girl next to him thinking it was your roommate,he smiled and bowed a bit before talking "Sorry to come at this hour but can I please talk to Y/N ? "

"Y/N ? " the girl sounded confused " S-she isn't here, but who are you?"

Jungkook raised his eyes in confusion. "She didn't arrive yet? "

The girl nodded. " I am her f-friend..... Lee Dami, Do you want me to give you her number or something? Y/N doesn't actually live here, I think you mistook her house"

Lee Dami?
