Xander's P.O.V.

I'm on my way to Emilia's house. I wanted to check on her after what happened it just makes me worry that the douche will come back.

I reach her house and get out of my car. I walk up to the door and knock on it. I wait a moment and no response. I knock again and the door instantly opens a little. I see her peek through and she sighs.

"Sorry, Emilia, I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to-" I stop and feel sadness and anger rise in me. I look at her arms and they are covered in scars.

She starts taking steps back. I frown. What's wrong?

"Emilia?" I say in confusion and she instantly stops in her track. She looks wide-eyed at me and looks scared of me. What did I do?

"Please. Don't. Hurt. Me." She whimpers and it causes my chest to clench. I would ever hurt her.

"Emilia, I'm not gonna hurt you," I say stepping towards her and gently grabbing her wrist. I feel the bumps of the scars on her wrists and it makes look at it with sadness. The scars go up half way on her forearm. She instantly puts her other hand to cover her face. I just stare at her in disbelief and after a moment she looks up at me with confusion. She looks at her arm finally seeing what I'm upset about.

She stares at her arm for a moment.

"What happened to you?" I whisper my voice wavering slightly. She yanks her arm away, wrapping them around her stomach.

"I-Is there something you need?" She asks trying to change the topic of conversation.

"Don't change the subject, Emilia. Please tell me what's wrong?" I plead with every fiber of my being. I take a step forward and she takes one back.

"N-Nothing is w-wrong," she says trying to lie but I see right through her.

"Emilia, Please. I know you're lying," I say to her,

"I-I'm sorry Xander," was all she says looking down. I feel slight anger.

I just want to help her but if she doesn't want my help then fine by me.

"Fine," is all I say anger lacing my voice. I head out the door and go to my car. I look back at her to see if she would change her mind but she doesn't say anything, just looks at me. I sigh and just leave.

Why won't she let me help her! That's all I want to do!

'You have to give her time,' I say to myself. I just don't want the same thing to happen to her that happened to someone I cared about.

I drive around cooling myself off and thinking of some plan or something for her to trust me. I can't think of anything for her not to trust me. But I understand. I'll just have to be patient. I'm gonna apologize to her though, I shouldn't have been angry with her.

I head back towards her house and see a truck pull out of the driveway with only two people in it. It doesn't look like Emilia. I slow down and park down the road a little so they don't notice me. They leave and I hop out of the car and run to her house.

I knock on the door and hear nothing. I wait a moment.

I knock again and wait. Still nothing. I'm worried.

I knock a finally time and get impatient. I go over to the window to see inside. I look around the room for anything or anyone. I freeze. I look closer, squinting slightly and see...blood. I go back to the door and try to open it. It's locked. Dammit!

I go back to the window and push it up. Yes! It's open, I push it all the way up and jump inside. I run over to the bloody spot. I grimace at how much there is. I see it trail up the stairs in little drips. I run up them and get to the bathroom door.

I knock on it and silence.

"Emilia?" I yell. Still nothing. I try to open the door and it's locked. I push once. Doesn't budge. I try again with all my might and the door breaks.

I look and see blood pooled around her and she looks up at me before turning her head and closing her eyes.

"Emilia!" I yell again and her body goes completely limp. I see cuts on her stomach and one on each wrist. NO! Why would she do this?

"Stay focused!" I say to myself.

I look in the cabinet for first aid, I see some and grab the bandage. I quickly wrap her arms and stomach to try stopping the bleeding. I pick her up quickly but gently and run down the steps to my car.

I put her in and run to my side getting in and driving to the hospital. I look over and see the wrap filling with blood. I drive quicker.

I grab my phone and dial my mom's number.

RING RING R-

"Hello?"

"Mom, I'm on my way to the hospital meet me there, I will explain when you get there, but I'm fine it's just Emilia...." I say frantically trailing off.

"Okay," she says worried but doesn't question it. I hang up and drive to the hospital.

"Hang on Emilia, for me and the people who care about you," I say picking up speed.

----

I arrive at the Emergency room and quickly grab Emilia and head for the entrance.

"Help! I need some help here!" I yell out. I see 2 nurses come with a stretcher. I set her on it and follow them but a nurse stops me.

"I'm sorry, you can't come past this point, you will have to wait out here," She says politely.

"No! I have to go with her!" I say, trying to push past her.

"Sir, I'm gonna advise you stay or I will have call security," she says firmly.

"Honey, come here, it's best to let them do their job," I turn and see mom. I hear the nurse's retreating footstep and I walk over to her.

"What happened?" She asks grabbing my hand in comfort. I sigh before talking.

"I went to Emilia's house to check on her a-and-" I pause at the sight of her flashing in my mind. I tightly close my eyes.

"The door was locked so I went in through the window b-because I-I saw blood on the floor. I went up to the bathroom and saw h-her on the floor mom s-she-," I tried to say. My mom rubbed my back soothingly as I put my head in my hands.

"She tried to kill herself, mom," I say with sadness lacing my voice.

"It was horrible seeing it again mom, it just brings back memories that I don't want to remember," I say looking at her. I see she has tears in her eyes. I hug her as we wait, comforting each other.

"I should have been there for her more, I should have done more mom," I say as a tear slips from my eye.

"Honey, it's not your fault. You understand me," She says looking me in the eyes with sadness and seriousness in her voice.

"Okay," I say but I don't believe it, I shouldn't have left her. I should have done something.

----

It's been hours it feels like, I haven't been keeping track. My mom has tried to get me food, but I have no appetite. The scene just continues to pop into my head bring back my terrible memories...

-4 years ago- (Xander is 13)

I'm on my way home from school. I always sit next to my best friends on the bus Tony and Adam. The bus ride doesn't seem very long when I'm with them. My sister is lucky she gets to drive to school. I can't wait to be older an be able to drive. She said I could get her car when she gets a new one.

The bus stops at my house and I get off saying goodbye to my friends. I enter the house.

"Mom, I'm home," I say as I kick off my shoes. I don't hear her respond. She must be working later tonight, Oh well. I head to my room and drop my bookbag off. I grab some clothes for a shower. I head down the hall to the bathroom to find the door slightly ajar. I open it and my eyes widen as I drop my stuff to the floor.

"Elizabeth!" I yell. There is blood all over the floor and her skin is so pale. I grab her face trying to wake her up. Her face is cold.

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth wake up! Please! Please Wake Up!" I yell at her, shaking her to try waking her up.

I pull out of my thoughts when a nurse starts to approach us.

"Hi, Emilia is stable now but she still hasn't woken up yet but you guys can see her if you would like." She tells us.

"Okay, Thank you. Xander, go ahead, I'm gonna call Carol and tell her what happened," Mom says before pulling out her phone.

"Okay, follow me and I'll lead you to her room," The nurse says to me. I follow her down the hall making a couple turns and she stops.

"Here is her room, you may enter when ready," She says before turning and leaving.

I stare at the door for a moment before pushing it open. The sight in front of me makes my heart clench.

She lays there motionless. Wires and IVs coming out of her and her bandaged wrist. I'm so glad she is alive. I go over and pull up a chair next to her. I hear the steady beat of the monitor and gently grab her delicate hand in mine, squeezing slightly.

"I'm so sorry Emilia, I know you can't hear me but I will be here for you when you wake up, I'm not giving up on you, even if you have on yourself," I say before kissing her hand lightly and gently resting it on her bed.
