"Honey, what's got you so spooked?" Carol says walking over to us with Xander in tow. She looks at the picture.
"Oh, that's my daughter," She says. My eyes widen.
"Th-That's my mother..."
Everyone goes silent. I can't wrap my head around this. Why didn't they tell me? Does she know why my mother left? Did she even know about me?
"I have a granddaughter?" She says in disbelief and a huge smile forms on her face. She brings me into a hug. This is too much for me. I feel hot tears roll down my face. I can't believe this.
I let go and wipe my eyes and laugh slightly.
"My mom told me her parents died before I was born. Why would she lie to me?" I say more to myself.
"I don't know sweetie, I'm so sorry," Carol says.
"It's okay, it's not your fault. I'm just happy to have met you," I say with a smile on my face.
"So, who are you living with, since your mother left?" She asks me.
"M-My father and brother," I say. A slight shiver runs down my spine, nobody noticed though. She looks at me with wide eyes.
"I have a grandson too?" She says with joy. If she only knew who he really was.
"Did she ever tell you why she left?" I desperately ask. I need answers.
"She never told me the reason she left," I was suddenly hit with more questions than answers. Did my father abuse my mother? Or did she leave because of me? Did she even care about me? How could she leave me with him?!
I start to back away gripping my head as more and more questions run through my head and more confusion. My breathing hitches, my body starts to shake and I struggle to breathe. I feel tears spill from my eyes.

How could she do that?
She never cared about me!
She left me with them!
She left me when I needed her most!
Why would she leave me?
I feel my legs give out and someone catches me before I fall.
"Emilia!" I hear Xander say faintly before I pass out.
Xanders P.O.V.
I grab Emilia and lay her on the couch. I can't believe Mrs. Harrison, who I have known for years, is Emilia's grandmother. I look over at Mrs. Harrisons widened eyes from the scene that just occurred. Izzy looks scared. I go over and hug her to comfort her.
"It's gonna be okay Izzy. She is fine, she will wake up," I whisper to her.
"W-What just happened," Mrs. Harrison ask with so sadness in her voice and started to get teary-eyed again.
"She had a panic attack, she will wake up soon. She will be alright though," Mom says to Mrs. Harrison.
"I feel bad that I caused this to happen to her," Mrs. Harrison says her eyes holding so much guilt.
"It wasn't your fault Carol. She will be okay. She has the right to know," Mom says.
Moments later I see her starting to stir slightly. I'm glad she wasn't out for hours. She sits up and looks at her surroundings with a confused expression.
"Wha-," Her eyes widen in sudden realization.
"I-I'm s-so sorry I ruined your ni-"
"No dear, you didn't ruin our night," Mrs. Harrison interrupts and sits next to her, putting her hand over Emilia's.
"I'm so grateful you're okay sweetie," She says giving her a hug.
"Emilia!" Izzy yells running to her and hugging her. Emilia wraps her arms around her.
"Izzy, I'm alright now," She says rubbing her back and laughs to show Izzy she was okay. She looks around at everyone before speaking.

"Thank you guys so much for all you have done for me, but I think it's time for me to go home," Emilia says.
"Honey, you can stay another night if you wish," My mom says to her.
"I-I think I'll be okay, but I really appreciate the offer," Emilia say look over at me.
"I'll take you home then," I say.
"Thank you for dinner Carol, it was all delicious," Emilia says giving her one last hug.
"And thank you too, Amanda, for letting me stay in your home," She says giving her a hug before turning to me. I grab her books she dropped then handed them to her.
"Let's go," I say to her and walk to my car. I open the door for her and she gets in. I go to the other side, hop in starting the car and drive to her house. I steal quick glances over at her and she looks lost in thought. I wonder what she is thinking about.
"Are you alright Emila? I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to," I say glancing at her then back to the road.
"Y-Yeah, I guess? It's just weird to know I had a grandma that isn't dead and I still have unanswered questions," She says looking down at her hands. I pull into her driveway and she starts to get out but I grab her wrist. She stops and looks me in the eyes. They hold so much hurt, confusion, and slight anger.
"Emilia, I'm here for you if you need me, for anything," I say with so much seriousness in my voice, trying to show her she can trust me. She looks down. I grab her chin and lift it to look into her eyes.
"I mean it," I lean in and kiss her forehead. Her cheeks turn red and she starts opening the door.
"T-Thank you," She says stepping out of the car and walking to her door. I make sure she gets in before pulling out of the driveway.
----
I pull into my house and head inside.
"I'm home mom," I put the keys on the hook.
"Hi, Honey. Everything go okay?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna go to bed, it's been a hectic day, Love you mom," I say giving her a hug then heading to my room.
"Love you too sweetie, goodnight," She says going to her room.
I get to my room and take off my clothes, then hop in bed.
I'm really concerned for Emilia. She gets scared so easily. What has happened to her? What is happening to her? It seems to be the million dollar question. I don't want to pry but I need to know, but is she ready for that? Would I scare her away? That is the last thing I want to do.
I care about her, a lot, actually. I think I even like her. Wait?
I like Emilia Stone.
But does she feel the same way?
With that thought, I fall asleep.
