《The Tattoo Artist ✓》Epilogue

Adeline is seven months old; she has her father's eyes and my dark brown hair. In my opinion, she is absolutely beautiful. I graze her cheeks, wanting her to fall asleep soon. Her hands wrap around my pinkie, and she brings it towards her mouth. My eyes widen, she's hungry yet again.

I want to let out an exhausted scream.

I gently pick her up from the crib, settling on my rocking chair as I begin to breastfeed her. It has officially been four years since we married, and God has blessed us with a beautiful little girl. Yes, she grew up catholic. But not as extreme as I grew up. No way would I ever treat my daughter like she's less than anything.

Ares and I made a promise, we promise to always listen to her in need, to always account to her feelings and to always treat her like a human. She deserves to experience, to feel the thrill I have felt without doing it behind my back, without fearing what I will do to her. Experience is key.

The door creaks open, my eyes lift up and I see Ares leaning against the door frame. His arms folded against his chest, he gives me a soft smile and i return one back to him. He comes towards us, grabbing a little stool as he sat beside me. He gently caresses Adeline's hair.

"She's beautiful..." I whisper.

"She got it from her mother, what do you expect?" He chuckles gently, I look towards him, and he brushes my lips before pressing his own against it. "Guess my pull-out game isn't so strong after all."

I slap him against the chest, "don't say that she was not an accident." Ares chuckles even more, I graze Adeline's chubby cheeks. "She was the most planned baby in the world," I whisper to her, as if to reassure her. Aunt Coraline keeps telling me how Adeline looks a lot like her, they look nothing alike.

Once Adeline has been fed, we settle her back down gently into the crib and tiptoe out of the room. We leave the door fully open and rush downstairs, Ares looked like a goddamn child waiting for a treat.

As did I.

The moment we hit the living room floor, he smashes his lips against mine and we stumble backwards. He grabs my shirt and lifts it over my head, I unbuckle his trousers and allow it to drop onto the ground. It makes a thudding noise; we both pause wide eyed. I bite onto my lips; we wait for her cries but once we heard nothing we continued.

Ares kisses down the nape of my neck, I let out a soft chuckle as I slide my hands underneath his shirt. "I feel like a fucking teenager again." He whispers, I shake my head and push him down onto the couch. I straddle him whilst pulling out his dick, I rub onto myself but not for long as I was just wet by the thought of Ares.

Suddenly the doorbell rings, both our head flings up and Adeline suddenly begins crying. We both let out a loud groan, before stepping away from one another. "I'll get Adeline." He offers.

"I'll get the door." I wash my hands quickly, "one second!"

As I walk towards the front entrance of our house, I open the door and it's as if everything in my heart drops at the same time.

She stood there, injured, and battered.

Cathy wipes her nose with the sleeve of her old sweater while looking down at her feet. "You-your mother told me you'd be here," she says quietly.

For the first time in five years; this is the first time I have ever seen Cathy.

"Angelos, who is it?" I look behind me and see Ares walking towards us with Adeline cradled in his arms, Cathy looks in-between the both of us. And then the baby, she releases a soft sigh of shock.

"I'm sorry. I am so sorry, I should go..." She turns away, I glance back at Ares, and he gives me a soft nod.

"Catherine! Stop!" Catherine turns around as I walk down the terrace steps. "Come on, it's snowing and chilly outside. Come in." Hope fulfils her eyes; she makes her way back and automatically dives into my arms.

Her arms are wrapped around my waist, her head is buried into my chest, and she tears softly. I sigh and stroke the back of her neck. She keeps crying, and I let her. "I am so sorry Alexandra, I really am..."She chokes out, I help her inside the home. Her torn-up shoes bring mud inside, but I ignore it. I close the door behind us.

"Come on, let's get you into a nice warm shower, and I'll get you some fresh clothes." I whisper to her; she gives me a soft nod. I lead her to the guest bedroom, where family normally stay inside. And by family, I mean Ares' brothers and sisters.

We moved into the cabin after it had been completely renovated and built into a two-story residence. I wanted to keep it small and cosy, and thankfully Ares agreed. I unlock the door to the guest bedroom on the ground floor, and she steps in first.

I've never seen Cathy look so dreadful; she's clearly been through a lot, but I'm not going to force anything out of her. I open the drawer to get fresh towels as she carefully slides out of her clothes. "I'm going upstairs to get you some clothes." When I look up, my heart bleeds even more.

She has scars all over her body, bruises covering her arms.

I walk into the bathroom, which is installed as a linked room to the bedroom. I turn on the shower and allow it to warm up. "Y-You have a daughter?" She whispers gently. I chuckle softly and dry my wet hands into the towel.

"Yes, I do. Her names Adeline, she's only a few months old." I smile.

"You've always wanted children, she looks beautiful."

"Thank you, Catherine, and she is. I'll let you hold her once you get settled in if you want." Catherine nods her head, rubbing onto her arms. "Let me get you some clothes, I'll leave it on the bed, and you come out whenever you want. Are you hungry?" Her growling stomach answered for her.

"It's fine, really. I don't want to be a bother. I shouldn't have turned up...I don't want to be a disruption." I shake my head.

"Don't be silly, you're always welcome. I'll leave you to get settled." She whispers a soft thank you, I close the door behind me and see Adeline and Ares having some bonding time on the couch. His eyes link with mine.

"She looks--tired." He whispers.

I settle down beside him, leaning against his shoulders as Adeline grabs onto my pinkie. "Someone's hurt her Ares...I've never seen her like that."

It's moments like these, that make me thankful that I have found myself a good man.

"She'll talk about it when she's ready, also Adonis is coming over to see his niece again."

"So, no sex?" I pout.

"Who said we can't have sex? I'll fuck you here right now if you want me too." I gasp and push his shoulder; I stand up from the couch and lean in to kiss him. "What? What did i say?"

"You-she better not grow up with your straightforward personality."

"And that's bad how?" I laugh loudly, not wanting to answer him. I make my way upstairs and into our bedroom, I shuffle through the draws and grab a new set of pyjamas with socks.

I finish the cooking, slapping Adonis' hand away from the food. He gasps. "Ares, she abused me! I can report this to the police" Adonis whispers. I glare daggers at him.

"This is not for you, you want food. Come behind the stove and cook it." I scoop the pasta into a nice bowl and set it onto a tray that contained orange juice, a glass of water and warm soup. I grated soft cheese on top of the pasta.

"Ares!" Adonis scowls, folding his arms.

"Whatever she says Adonis." Ares answers, playing peekaboo with Adeline.

I smile at him, the guest bedroom door opens, and Cathy gently walks out. She looks around at all of us and freezes. This is not typical of Cathy, who is the most outgoing person I've ever encountered.

"Come sit, Cathy. I prepared some food for you." When I tell her, she goes to the kitchen, which is connected to the living room. Adonis glances at her silently as she slides a seat. I hand her the tray and open the drawer to provide her with some utensils.

"Thank you." She whispers.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the girl from the club, see, I remember you." Here he goes again. I stare at Ares and give him a shaking head.

"Adonis, stop." Ares orders, I make my way to him and pick up Adeline.

"You look beautiful Cathy," Adonis whispers. Cathy looks up at him, as if that was the first time anyone has ever complimented her.

"Do you guys mind sitting upstairs? I need to talk to Catherine." Ares nods his head, kissing the top of my head. He grabs Adonis' collar and yanks him up the stairs.

I drag the chair besides Catherine, holding Adeline. Catherine looks down at her, "she has you hair...and Ares' eyes...she's absolutely beautiful Alexandra..." I let out a soft chuckle, grazing her chubby cheeks.

"She is, isn't she?" Adeline pokes her hands out and grabs a lock of Cathy's hair. "And she likes you, do you want to hold her?" Cathy looks at me, she hesitates for a moment before nodding her head. I slide Adeline into her arms, and surprisingly Ade (Adeline's nickname) does not cry.

"I'm scared for my life Alexandra, he's after me." She whispers out, tears falling from her eyes. I sit up properly...

"Who is?" I ask.

"My husband."

You guys really thought this was the end huh...well it is..at least the end of this book...

Maybe a book two will be coming up....
