《Unveiling the Arcane》Dante

Maddox and I hurried through the woods back towards the cabin. They hadn't shown up to school and none of them were answering their phones. We had given them until the fifth period to answer or get their asses to class. When Sage didn't show up to physics we left right after the period ended. Maddox was right behind me tearing through the forest. His feet stomped on twigs and dry leaves causing all the animals to scatter when we passed.
When we got to the cabin we paused. There weren't any sounds of terror and pain, so they had better have a damn good reason for keeping us so worried. As soon as we walked through the door, we could smell it. There was a thick fog of arousal in the air. The scent almost clogged my nose. I was torn between roaring jealousy and unfettered arousal. Maddox growled deep in his throat and headed straight towards the stairs. He took them two at a time with me following closely behind.
I hoped Maddox wasn't going to go crazy and eat anyone's soul. He had never reacted to something like this before. I wasn't sure if he was angry or aroused. His scent was too conflicting to be sure. He threw open the door of the library Sage had been given for a room. I followed behind him and we both stood there looking down at the scene before us.
In the bed, Sage was laying between the twins with her school clothes on minus the blazer and tie. Her shirt was unbuttoned to her skirt and seemingly torn straight down the back. Aiden and Caden were both laying there with their shirts on and no pants or underwear for that matter. Aiden was laying on his back with Sage leaning back on his chest. Caden had curled up along every inch of her that he could touch his hand tucked into her shirt to cup her breast. Even in sleep, the damn boy was greedy.

Neither of us said anything. Both of us were probably unsure of what to say. I know I was. We looked at each other and shrugged. I knew Maddox wouldn't be swaying anything to wake them up. I stepped forward placing my knee on the edge of the bed and leaning over before I slapped Aiden and Caden both in the face at the same time.
They shot up in bed making Sage fall to her side on the mattress between them when Aiden sat up. "What the hell is going on here?" I demanded.
Aiden scratched the back of his neck, and I froze. Circling his wrist was a tattooed band of overlapping feathers two inches thick. I snapped my eyes over to Caden's wrist to see the same design. I looked down at Sage who was pushing herself up and a thicker band circled her wrist. Where the guys had overlapping feathers, hers was different. The flames of desire for Aiden and mosaic of gems for Caden's greed. The two differing designs made side by side rings around her right wrist about four inches in width. "What have you two done?" I demanded before they had even answered my last question.
Aiden looked down at the design on his wrist but there was no shock on his face. "Mom warned me this could happen." He smirked at the life-like feathers surrounding his wrist.
"Woah," Caden said softly.
I glanced over at him to see him admiring his own design before he grabbed Sage's arm to study her own. This seemed to be the moment that she realized it was there. "What the hell? Where did that come from?" She asked her wide eyes looking up to meet mine.
I glared down at Aiden, and he avoided eye contact. "You knew this could happen but didn't explain it to her?"

"We didn't have much time and I knew she would have said no when she realized the negative side of it." He admitted.
I glared at him harder. "Are you saying you didn't get her informed consent for this?" I yelled.
He looked down but his voice was firm and unwavering when he spoke. "Yes."
"What's going on?" Sage asked.
The fear in her voice made me angrier than I had already been before. I sighed before looking down at her. "Go get cleaned up and dressed and we'll talk downstairs when you're done," I told her softly.
She looked up at me a moment longer before nodding in agreement. She scooted off the bed holding her shirt together before she slipped away to the bathroom with a change of clothes. "You two get cleaned up. If she gets upset, I will kick both of your asses." I growled at them.
They both hung their heads before hurrying from the room to theirs. I looked back at Maddox to see him clenching his jaw in anger. I gripped his shoulder and nodded my head towards the door. We could wait downstairs for Sage and the idiots to finish up. "Let's go open some windows," I said curling my nose at the arousal still saturating the air.
