《His Fake fiancé》Chapter 30

Work. My first day back in a while. I can't lie I'm nervous. Grayson had to give me a bit of a pep talk as soon as I woke up. He made me feel better saying that he'd recently been forced by Richard to hire Mason.

Since there's already a CFO, Preston. Masons been hired as his assistant. Which I found absolutely hilarious. Mason is the worst person for the job. He's messy, unorganised, never focused, pretty much he's the worst choice for an assistant there is.

At least I now have friends. Marie and Mason. Along with a fiancé. Before the arrangement I'd eat lunch at my desk, too scared to go to the cafeteria and be verbally degraded by Amber. But now I have two friends that I can sit with.

The office is somewhat like a high school. If you're not an executive you're actually reliving every high school nightmare you've ever had. Marie and Mason I'm sure will scare off any unwanted peoples comments.

I pull up my trusty black pencil skirt. I struggle a bit with the zipper. I really need to get back to the gym. Since I've not been working I've been lazing around. Whereas before I was running all over the city which was a great workout.

I sigh pulling on my black stilettos and heading downstairs with my purse. Graysons waiting for me as per usual. He's holding a coffee and a breakfast muffin. He hands them to me "I had them delivered since you wouldn't have time to make breakfast."

"Thanks." I kiss his cheek and we step onto the elevator. Normally he'd take his time to check emails on his phone but today he's got he's watching me intently "what?" I question, feeling a little uncomfortable under his gaze.

"Eat." That came out like an order.

I'm not a drill sergeant, I don't reply to him.

At least not until we step into the office. But I'm hungry so I don't bother with a reply. He smiles proudly as he watches me dig into my food.

Stanley drives us to work and I make sure to catch him up on all the details of Graysons arrest. He laughs and makes a few comments here and there. Stanley's the best. He doesn't know this but I've adopted him as my father.

We pull up outside the office. I go to get out and Grayson places a hand on my arm "after work, we're heading to town hall. I'm sorry to spring this on you but we have to get married."

Now that I wasn't expecting. I mean I expected it to happen but not so soon. "Um ok."

"I've got you a dress. My parents are going to be there. They think that we just couldn't wait. It took a bit of work but they're on board. Also Marie's going to be your maid of honour and Masons my best man."

Wow he'd really sorted everything. Except one thing. I look to Stanley "hey Stanley?"

Our eyes meet through the rare view mirror "yes Miss?"

"Can you walk me down the isle? You don't know this but I've sorta adopted you as my honorary father figure." He chuckles.

"It would be my pleasure but unfortunately after I take the two of you to work I'm heading out of town to go see my niece who's been diagnosed with cancer."

"Oh my god Stanley! Don't worry about it. Spend your time with her and make sure she's ok."

"Thank you." He offers a sad smile.

We get out of the car and walk inside. Grayson attempts to wrap his arms around my waist. I can't already feel everyone's stares. I slap his hand away "no PDA at work"

He frowns "I don't remember agreeing to that?"

"You didn't but I don't want us flaunting our relationship at work. It doesn't feel right and I don't need anymore people judging me." He sighs, telling me he's given in.

We step onto the crowded elevator. It makes me uncomfortable that people keep glancing our way or more my way. I want to yell at them but along with the girl who's banging the boss, the gold digger, the whore etc I'll be known as the crazy office bitch. I already have enough labels thank you!

So I keep to myself, staring at the floor, feeling more at ease when the elevator would stop and someone would get out.

It didn't take us too long to get to the top floor. Grayson and I were the only ones left in the elevator as we exited.

Preston walked straight towards us, glaring at Grayson "you hired Mason as my goddamned assistant!!"

I had to bite my lip to prevent myself from laughing. "My father forced me to, I didn't have a say in the matter so if you have an issue, take it up with him."

We all knew that Preston was terrified of Richard Black, I know he can seem like a hard ass but when you get to know him he's a soft teddy bear, just like his son.

Preston just sighed and gave me a kiss on the cheek, welcoming me back. Then he stormed off down the hall muttering to himself.

Grayson and I walked to his office. I stopped at my desk and began unpacking my things while Grayson closed the door to his office.

It's nice to be back. Powering up the computer had me reminiscing.

Eventually I'd sorted myself out. I had Graysons schedule pulled up and was making calls.

I look up when I hear someone stomping towards me. I smile at a grumpy looking Mason. He hardly ever wears suits. The man's always in a biker jacket and jeans. But today it looks as if he's been forced to dress accordingly by a stern mother "Mason." I greet with the biggest amused smile.

He glares at me "I hate my brother." He grumbles causing me to laugh at his childish antics.

"You're two hours late." I look at my watch and shake my head.

"What's the worse he'll do? Fire me?"

I shrug "you can only hope. Lunch is in another hour, why don't you join me and Marie in the cafeteria?"

I watch his shoulders slump "fine. But I'm putting it on Graysons tab."

"If it makes you feel any better I've been doing the same for years and I've always used his card to purchase coffee for everyone who'd put in an order."

Finally he's genuinely smiling "why don't we do something fun?"

Narrowing my eyes at him I question what he has in mind.

"I don't know? We could glitter bomb his office!"

"You're a real child at heart, you know that?" I say

"So? Are you gonna help me? Imagine him walking out covered in glitter that he won't be able to get off, even with a good shower! It'll knock his ego down a peg or two."

Normally I'd jump at the chance to mess with Grayson. But we've gone through so much over the past two days.

I can feel my breakfast coming up my throat "hold that thought." I mumble, covering my mouth with my hand and running to the bathroom.

I shove open the first stall I see and release my stomach into in porcelain bowl. I'm never ever drinking again. I swear on my life, if this is what it's like when you get alcohol poisoning I'm never drinking again and I mean it this time.

Sighing I wipe my mouth, flush the toilet and splash some cold water on my face. Then I leave the bathroom and walk back down the hall to my desk.

Masons stolen my chair and gives me a sympathetic smile "are you ok?"

I sigh pushing him up and out of my chair "yeah, alcohol poisoning."

He grimaces "I hope you feel better soon. We can talk at lunch about our little plan."

With that he turns and walks away "I didn't agree!" I call but he doesn't hear me, if he does he acts as if he didn't. I sigh falling back into my chair.

"Miss Miller, come to my office please."

I hear him call my name through the intercom, huh, he actually said 'please'. Oh how the times have changed. I smirk to myself grabbing my tablet to record notes or instructions.

I step into his office after knocking three times to let him know that I've arrived. He's sitting at his desk, staring intently at his computer. He looks up at my arrival and a warm smile graces his features "take a seat."

I look at him a little confused as I assumed I was coming in here as he had some tasks for me to accomplish but I don't question him and take a seat.

"We are getting married tomorrow night at my parents house."

"Ok."

"Ok?" He looks dumbfounded. I can't help but smirk.

"I expected this. After everything to do with the media it's no surprise that we have to get married especially this soon. It's in the contract that this may happen, you've mentioned it a few times, I'd be stupid to not expect this."

He took his time processing my reaction and I let him. "Are we done? I have work to get back too?"

"Trying to get rid of me so quickly?" His lips tilt upwards

I roll my eyes, standing up "of course, you're heads shoved so far up your ass that if I didn't try to leave I'd have to endure another four hours of you talking about yourself."

His laugh warms my insides and I stay a little longer just to listen to it. "Alright get out of here before I throw you on my desk and fuck you into oblivion."

I gasp. Now that's sounds hella tempting... but I don't want to engage in any form of affection at work. My eyes met his, he saw that I was considering his offer.... No I couldn't give him the satisfaction of going against my one rule!

Quickly I turn on my heel and storm out of his office, slamming the door behind me. I could hear the asshole laughing.

I check the time. Good, lunch. If there's one thing that can put me in a better mood it's food. I walk down the hall to Masons desk. I see him lying on the floor taking a nap while Preston's standing over him with a tall glass of water.

I pause, slowing down my steps to see him pour the water on Masons head. I laugh when Mason jolts up, gasping for air. Pouring water on people is one of my favourite activities to witness and partake in.

Once he realises what just happened he glared at Preston, pulling his fist back to punch him "No!" I call out. Mason looks at me surprised to see me, giving Preston a quick escape.

Mason looks back to see Preston gone and mutters curses to himself.

"Lunch?"

He looks back at me his eyes brightening up at the mention of food "yes! Come on let's go, I am starving!"

I laugh hooking my arm in his "same here. Marie's meeting us down there."

-----

I never go to the cafeteria. I've probably only been there a total of three times. It's actually quite nice but the people are crap so I've always avoided going down there.

Mason and I load up on food and I mean load, like we've seriously taken half of the food with us, charging it to Graysons account. "How on earth are you going to eat all that?" Mason questions as we take a seat by the window.

"I could ask you the same thing."

"Touché."

Ever since we entered the buzzing cafeteria I've noticed all the girls who've been shamelessly staring at Mason. All of them, quite literally eye fucking the man. Even the ones who aren't single! Honestly have some class ladies.

The loud cafeteria suddenly quietens and I look up to see why. Marie and Grayson have entered and they're both walking straight towards us. I blush at the heated stare I'm receiving from him. Pure lust in his eyes.

I gulp down my last bite of the pastrami sandwich. Marie plants her ass next to Mason, leaving the open spot next to me, for my soon to be husband.

He sits down next to me reaching for a chip, I swat his hand away. "You're seriously going to eat all of this?"

Immediately I raise my eyebrows at him "are you calling me fat!" My voice comes out shrill as I stand from my seat looking down at him and I see people watching us like we're some reality show, I guess my life's heading down that road. Do I really care that they're watching? No.

Graysons face morphed go horror "What! N-no." He stutters looking to Mason for help. He just smirks, offering Marie one of his sandwiches, which she great fully takes.

I place my hands on my hips "are you Grayson Daniel Black insinuating that because I have a lot of food that I am fat!" His eyes widen even more if that's possible.

"Oooo moms going to whoop your ass when I tell her what you said to Olivia."

Grayson glares at his brother "I didn't say shit! She's taking this way out of proportion."

Still standing I smack his arm. Everyone gasps, other than everyone at our table.

"Move."

He shakes his head.

"Move!"

He grabs my arm, pulling me into his lap. "Sweetheart, calm down."

Crossing my arms over my chest I glower at him "I am calm."

"No, you're making a scene." He points to everyone as they all stare.

"I.Don't.Care."

"Baby we're getting married tomorrow can we please not fight." He nuzzles his head into my neck. It surprises me, the loving gesture I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

I sigh giving in "ugh, fine."

His smiles triumphant and he gives me a quick kiss.

I attempt to get off his lap and back into my own seat but his grip tightens around my waist. I roll my eyes at his possessiveness, but I find it a fucking turn on.

I continue to eat till my hearts desire, feeding Grayson, Masons chips because I'm not sharing my food, I have a really big appetite today, maybe my stomach is finally agreeing with me.

"Hey, how come you're down here? You never come to the cafeteria and I would know because you used to make me go down here and grab your lunch until u found out that I could bloody order it!" I smack his chest playfully.

"Because I got an alert that an obscene amount of money had been charged to my account from the cafeteria. Marie was already heading down so I joined her to see why, turns out the two of you decided to charge half of the food we had stocked to my account."

"Well it's not like you can't afford it." I say defensively. Mason fist bumps me in solitude.

I turn to Marie "so how's your boyfriend." I waggle my eyebrows, causing a rose blush to tint her cheeks. "He's good, we're good. I just wish that we lived in the same city. It's hard having a long distance relationship when neither one of us are willing to move."

I lean over and grab her hand, squeezing it "you'll figure things out."

She gives me a soft smile "I hope so."

We spent way too long in the cafeteria laughing and talking, work completely getting away from us. I think Mason was more than happy to leave Preston to figure everything out for himself. I'm pretty sure Preston found it a lot easier when Mason wasn't here. Personally I love it. We have a very strong sibling bond which I've never had the pleasure of experiencing so it's nice to finally have him, along with Grayson and Marie. It's my own little family. At least for now, until this charade is over. I cuddle into Graysons chest feeling saddened at the idea that this won't be forever. Grayson doesn't question my action, instead embracing me, rubbing patterns on my back as he laughs at one of Marie's childhood stories.

Finally it came to me. I think I'm falling in love him. With all the jokes and silly arguments we've had at one another we've somehow formed an unbreakable and special bond.
