But if the sky waits patiently, the next day, the sun will also rise, and the moon will also shine. It takes some time, but what is meant to happen, happens.

Aayan had a torturous week as well. He would get up in the morning and look at the couch, to find it empty. He would go out for his morning jog and come back home. He would look at the kitchen in which he is used to seeing Ruhee, making breakfast and packing his lunch, but now, it was Carlos instead. Carlos would greet him and he would greet back. After getting ready for work, he would come down and eat breakfast with his mother. Sahma was used to talking with Ruhee and they would never shut up, but now, Sahma didn't feel like talking. They would silently have their meal and Aayan would head of to work.

Aayan would put his mind entirely at work, but his mind would wander away. He would decide to call Ruhee and talk to her, but would never have the courage to pick up his mobile and dial her number.

What if she is in college?

What if she is studying?

She might be cooking.

She must be asleep.

At lunch time, Zubair would walk in with their take outs, but Aayan would always look at the direction he used to place his packed lunch bag. He never felt like eating, but he had promised Ruhee he would eat, so he did. He would go home by 9pm. Have dinner with his mother, none of them saying a word, and up to his room. He would enter his room to find it lonelier then ever. There were times during the week, were he would just sit on the couch for hours and hours, with his eyes closed. Sometimes, he would fall asleep on the couch.

The weekends were nothing different aswell. He would do his work in the living room while his mother watched television. They would make small talks here and there, but nothing deep. But tonight, Sahma says something new, 'I really hoped that you would have stopped her.' Aayan looks at his mother, who was staring at the plate. They were having dinner, 'I wanted her to be the one.' Sahma says and looks at her son. Aayan didn't know what to reply or how to, 'Tell me, Aayan. Didn't you want her to stay aswell?' She asks her son, but he looks away. Sahma signs and says, 'Remember Aayan, happiness doesn't always knock twice on someone's door, and same goes for love.' she gets up from her seat and walks into her room.

It's Monday, and Aayan was sitting in his office and Sahma's words kept repeating in his head. He signs and begins his work, when a knock on the door is heard, 'Come in.' he says. The door opens slowly and Farheen walks in, in her peach chudidar and a file in hand. She walks upto Aayan's table and places the file before him. He looks up and signs, 'Abba had asked me to drop it off.' Aayan nods and goes back to his file, 'Yeah, he called and informed me.' Farheen just stood their and watched him work. After sometime of staring, he signs and looks up to her, 'What?' he asks, trying to not sound rude, note the trying. Farheen looks down shy and asks in a low voice, 'Nothing, just wanted to ask how Ammi is doing?' 'She is doing fine.' he says, picking up the pen and writing in the file. She nods, 'What about Ruhee? Is she doing well?' she asks again. Farheen notices how Aayan's pen stops moving abruptly. Aayan heaves in a big breath and looks at Farheen with annoyance, he was about to open his mouth and speak, when the door bangs open.

Zubair walks in and looks straight at Aayan and says, 'Someone is waiting for you in the meeting room.' Aayan frowns at him and says, 'I don't have any meetings today.' 'Yes, but this person didn't set an appointment with you. She just came, and there is only one person who has ever come, unannounced here before.' Aayan frowns at Zubair's words.

Unannounced? Who could that be? And he said "She" which means it's a female, and there is only female or person I know who came in.....

Aayan's eyes widen as he stands up, abruptly from his chair. He looks at Zubair, and Zubair just nods his head. Aayan's breathing picks up, if she is the person he thinks she is, then he for sure wanted to see her, 'Who is this "She" you are referring to?' Farheen asks, no one in particular, as she looks at the two men. She is left unheard as Aayan walks past her, out the door.

He quickly makes his way to the meeting room and opens the door. Inside the room, facing her back to him, stood a 5ft tall girl, in a familiar black Abaya. She turns around and Aayan just wanted to walk up to her, and hug the life out of her, 'Hi, Aayan.' he hears her sweet and soft voice say, and his entire being inwardly shivers. He stares at her face, as he walks closer to her, memorizing it. Her rosy lips were formed in a beautiful smile that he missed, her apple cheeks that would go rosy when she blushed, he missed, her sparkling raven black eyes, that held so much care, worry and love, he missed. He missed her, so much.

He was now standing right in front of her as he says, 'Hi, Ruhee.' Ruhee's smile brightens even more, if that was possible. Ruhee looks down for a bit, hiding her blush, but Aayan noticed it, and he smiled as well, 'How have you been?' She asks, now looking up at him, 'I'm doing fine. What about you?' he asks her, to which she only nods her head. If Aayan could freeze time right now, he would happily do it, because all he wanted to do was admire her as long as he can. For some reason, Ruhee also kept looking at him, smiling. And like a bulb just went off in her head, Ruhee takes a step back, and Aayan wanted to whine at the distance, but he held it in.

Ruhee looks at the box, which Aayan just now noticed, she was holding. Aayan remembers that box, it was the box of the couple watches he had gifted her. He frowns as to why she has bought it with her, She opens the box and pulls out the watch that read Hubby, and holds it up in air, 'Do you remember Aayan, what you said to me when you gave these to me?' she asks him, to which he only nods his head, 'You said that, you wish I give this watch to the person whom I would chose as my husband.' Ruhee says to him, and once again Aayan nods, 'And today, I have come to tell you that I have chosen the person whom I want to be my husband.' As soon as the words left Ruhee's lips, Aayan's entire world crashes. He knew this was going to happen someday, but he didn't want it to be today.

Aayan looks at Ruhee and nods. Ruhee nods as well and moves a step closer to him, and extends the hand that held the watch towards Aayan, 'I chose you.' she says. Aayan stills. He stares at Ruhee's face, looking for any doubt or misconception, but he saw nothing, but pure confidence and love. He looks at the watch, that was extended towards him. He just stares at it, not taking it. He looks back up to Ruhee, to see her resolve crumbling. He has not yet accepted the watch, and Ruhee didn't know what to think. Aayan looked back at the watch, and his mother's words echoed in his head.

'Remember Aayan, happiness doesn't always knock twice on someone's door, and same goes for love.'

Happiness and love was knocking once again on his door, all he has to do is extend his hand and take it. Ruhee's hand was falling down from having it out stretched for too long, but Aayan quickly held it. They both look at each other, into their eyes. Aayan gives Ruhee his breath taking smile and looks down at the watch. He takes it from her hand, removes his previous watch and throws it on the couch, next to Ruhee's bag. He unstraps the Hubby watch, and straps it on his wrist and shows it to Ruhee, 'I guess it suits me.' Ruhee let's out a small laugh, and pulls out the Wifey watch from the box and straps it around her wrist. She shows her wrist to Aayan with a big smile aswell.

Both of them held the biggest most beautiful smiles of happiness on their faces, while showing each others their watches. Tears of happiness were now forming in Ruhee's eyes. They both just stood their for a while, holding their watches up high, as a declaration, that they both belong to each other now. Aayan puts down his hand first, and looks at the watch, with so much pride and happiness. He looks up at Ruhee, to find her doing the same. Aayan wanted to ask her something but didn't know how to, 'Can I ask you something?' he finally asks. Ruhee looks up at him, and nods her head, her smile intact, 'So now, we are married permanently, right?' he asks. Heat rushes up to Ruhee's cheeks, so she looks down and nods her head.

A big smile stretches on Aayan's lips as he looks away and bites his lips, to control his smile, and swings with his legs, from where he was standing. He looks back to Ruhee, to see her still looking down. He asks her again, 'So now, I am permanently your husband, right?' he asks and Ruhee nods again, still looking down. Aayan just wanted to pull her cheeks. Aayan takes a deep breath and asks what he has been wanting for a long time, 'So now, Can I ask for a hug?' he asks, in a low voice. Ruhee looks up at him with wide eyes, but soon her face softens and she nods her head. Aayan takes a step closer and open his arms, Ruhee lets out a small laugh and hops into his arms. As soon as Ruhee's arms go around him, he encloses his arms around her and hugs her to his chest.

Aayan and Ruhee were not the only ones feeling emotional, two more people were feeling emotional aswell. Zubair and Farheen looked at the couple through the transparent view of the meeting lounge. Farheen's entire world came crashing as she saw the love of her life, embrace someone else in his arms, 'I have never seen him so happy before.' Farheen hears Zubair say. She knew he was standing next to her, but she didn't turn. Zubair on the other hand was happy, very happy, for his friend. Aayan had finally found the woman, he wanted to share his past, present and future with, 'If you truly love him, you will be happy in his happiness, and let him go.' Zubair says, and a tear rolls down Farheen's eye, 'It will take time, and it will sure hurt, but you'll move on.' Zubair says. Farheen still doesn't look at him but nods her head. She stares at the couple a little longer, and turns around to leave, and after sometime, Zubair also leaves.

Aayan's face was snuggled between Ruhee's neck and shoulder valley, while Ruhee's cheek was plastered against Aayan's chest, as their arms held them tightly together. Aayan really wanted to freeze this moment. He wanted to just stay like this, holding her close to him. Aayan pulls her even closer to him, if that was possible, and signs in relaxation.

My happiness and love.
