《Accidental Nikkah》CHAPTER 43

The sun, the moon, stars, clouds and sky, they are the simple gifts of nature. If we don't take time to admire these simple gifts, we will not be able admire the rich ones.
Aayan opens his eyes and looks at the couch, to find it empty. He looks at the time to see it's around 7:24am. He gets up and moves towards the closet. Aayan had never thought sharing his pain and past with Ruhee would make him feel so light. For some reason, he was feeling fresh and he liked it. He was so relieved in hearing the words Ruhee said to him after that, and to be honest, he really slept peacefully after a long time.
It was Monday, and time to follow the daily routine. He walked into the bathroom and took a shower. He comes out and walks to his closet door, to find his clothes hanging on the handle. He picked up the clothes to find a full sleeved yellow and blue stripped t-shirt, a white half sleeved shirt over it and a pair of blue faded jeans. Aayan frowned and saw a sticky note stuck to it. He plucked it out and read it.
Morning!
You are not going to work today. I have already called Mason and informed Zubair about it aswell. Don't think of ditching the clothes I chose for you and wear a suit.
See you soon.
Ruhee.
Aayan just frowned at the note. He was not going to skip work and wear this. He stuck the note on the floor length mirror and opened his closet door. He was shocked, there was not even a single set of his suits, or other clothes hanging in his closet. It was wiped clean. He looked closer to find another sticky note. He plucked it out again and read it.
I told you to not ditch the clothes I chose for you, right? You never listen. Now, wear what you have in your hand, unless you wanna walk around just in a towel.
Hurry up.
Ruhee.
Aayan was really getting annoyed and confused with all these notes. He needs to get his suits back and go to work. He looks at the clothes in his and signs. He cannot walk down stairs just in a towel, so begrudgingly, he puts on the clothes. He looks in the mirror and to be honest, he looked good in casuals. He looked at his naked feet and signed. He looked around for any shoes or flip-flops, but they were also gone. He walked out the closet empty feet. He looked up and saw a pair of his black and white lace up adidas and a watch near the foot of the bed.
How come I didn't notice them.
He walked to his bed and put them on. He was gonna get Ruhee and ask for his clothes, change and go to work. He walked over to the door, and found another note.
Good boy.
Look how good you look in casuals. Now, I know what you are going to do. You are going to come to me, ask where your clothes are and leave to work. Well, all the best for that.
Ruhee.
He huffed and walked out the door and down the stairs. He looked into the kitchen to find it empty. He saw his breakfast on the table, 'Ruhee.' he called out to her, but no reply. He called again and again, but nope. He walked over to his mother's door and found another note.
As you have already noticed, I am not at home. And since you came To Ammi's door, she is also not at home. She has gone to Shifa Auntie's house. The plans were made in the morning only and don't worry, Zubair came to pick her up.

Now, go have your breakfast.
I am waiting.
Ruhee.
Aayan was getting really mad by now.
What in the world is she planning?
Aayan scrunched the paper and threw it away. If Ruhee was not gonna give him his clothes, he is gonna find them himself. So, he starts searching the entire house. The guest room, Sahma's room, laundry room, his room and the study. Under the couches and behind the cupboards but none. He couldn't find his clothes anywhere. He huffed and walked over to the dining table and sat down for breakfast. He might be angry but he is also hungry. He opened the lid covering his breakfast. He rolled his eyes as he saw another note.
Are you done searching the entire house? Did you find your clothes? I know you didn't. You are wasting too much time, Aayan. Now, quickly have your breakfast, I am getting impatient.
Ruhee.
He scoffs at the word "impatient" and eats his breakfast. If he cannot go to work in his suit, he will go in his casuals itself. He placed his plate in the dishwasher and walked to the door, to find another note.
Planning to go to work in casuals itself? To be honest, I am impressed. Your love for work is incredible, but not today.
Now, get in your car and come to me.
Ruhee.
Aayan was getting really irritated. He walked out the door and got into his car. He let out an exasperated sign, as he found another note on his steering wheel.
I know you are really irritated by now, but it's so gonna be worth it. I am waiting at writers cafe which has a big giant guarding it's entrance. If you don't come soon, I am gonna run away with Huzayl.
Time is ticking.
Ruhee.
Now, that got his attention. He knows exactly where this cafe is and it's really far. But if he goes in full speed, he can reach there soon. So, he starts the engine, and pushes the accelerater and the car takes off. He had really had it with Ruhee today.
Run away with Huzayl? I'll see how.
He reaches the cafe in 35 minutes. He parks the car and runs towards the entrance. He walks in and looks around for Ruhee. He spots her sitting at the last table, dozing off. He walks closer to her and frowns. He taps her shoulder to wake her up but she shoves his hand away. He takes in a deep breath and taps again, and she shoves his hand away, again. He exhales hard and knocks on the table.
This gets her attention and she looks up at Aayan with menace in her eyes, that Aayan backed away a step. On seeing Aayan, her eyes change to happiness. Aayan frowns at her sudden change. 'Oh, Aayan. It's you.' Ruhee says, rubbing her eyes. He nods his head, a bit cautious, just in case her mood changes again, 'Sorry, if I scared you. I got up really early as I had lot to do, and someone kept disturbing my sleep, ugh, I was annoyed.' she smiles at him and asks him to sit down and he does, in the chair in front of her.
She was looking at him and smiling while he just stared at her,'Where is he?' he asks, after sometime, 'Who?' Ruhee asks, still smiling, 'Huzayl, of course.' Aayan says, getting annoyed. Ruhee frowns and replies, 'At his office. It's Monday, you know.' Aayan places his arms on the table and moves closer to her, 'Then, what did you mean, when you wrote, you are running away with him.' Aayan says, staring at her.

Ruhee gives him a confused look, when suddenly, it strikes her, 'Aah, that. I just wrote that so you would come here faster. Somehow, Huzayl's mention makes you do stuff. I gave it a try and voilà, your here.' she says. Aayan leans back on the chair dumbstruck. He was now sure Ruhee has lost her brain cells. Ruhee looks at her wrist watch and gets up. Seeing her get up, Aayan also gets up. She pulls out a large picnic basket from under the table and walks towards the door, 'C'mon.' she says to Aayan and he follows her confused.
They walk out the door and Ruhee starts rushing to go somewhere. Aayan calls after her but she doesn't listen. She finally stops after walking a few meters and smiles at the place before her. Aayan catches up to her and stares at the place, 'What are we doing here?' he asks her, staring at the big entrance, 'We are going to spend our day here.' Ruhee says, excited. Aayan looks at her and says, 'What?' Ruhee looks at him and smiles, 'You have only been working and being sad for the past few days.' she points at the place and says, 'This, is gonna be your funday.' and she grabs Aayan's wrist and drags him through the gate.
Since the place had opened just a few minutes ago, their was not of a much line. A huge number of school kids and two or three families, that's all. Ruhee drags him to the counter, 'Welcome to our amusement park. How many tickets, ma'am?' the man, sitting at the counter asks her with a smile. Ruhee smiles back and hands him the money, 'Two adults, please.' she says. The man accepts the money and hands her two tickets, 'Enjoy.' the man says, and Ruhee draggs Aayan to the entrance. The man at the entrance of the park, tears their tickets and wraps a band on their wrists and let's them through, 'Who gave you the money to buy two tickets?' Aayan asks her, 'My brother.' she says, 'And he just gave you?' he asks again, 'I have my ways.' she says, with a devious smile.
Ruhee pulls Aayan through the entrance and smiles at the view before her. Aayan was looking at all the rides and melody of the music's with awe. It had been ages since he last visited here. A wave of thrill rushed through his veins and he grabbed Ruhee's wrist and ran towards the rides, with a big smile on his face. Ruhee laughed and ran with him holding on to the picnic basket.
They stood in line and went on almost every ride that pumps up your adrenaline. Ali baba, roller-coaster, cliffhanger, Disk'O, double shot, free fall, helter skelter and what not. Soon, it was lunch time, and the both of them sat on the picnic grounds of the park as Ruhee finally opened the picnic basket. They had all smiles on their faces as they enjoyed their lunch. Ruhee didn't make much, just some chicken sandwiches, egg rolls, some fruits and Ceasars salad with juices. Perfect for a picnic. They laughed and enjoyed their lunch.
After lunch, Ruhee layed down on the mattress and stared at the sky, relaxed. Aayan just looked oddly at her,'Ruhee, get up, there are so many people around here.' he said. Ruhee looked at him and said, 'Oh, c'mon, Aayan. You also lay down, it's so relaxing.' Aayan shook his head in denial and said, 'There are so many people around.' 'And those people are enjoying themselves aswell. They are too busy laughing and smiling to notice us laying down, so c'mon.' she says, and pulls him down to lay beside her.
He lays down and looks up at the sky. An unconscious smile appears on his face looking at the sky,'It's so peaceful to stare at sky.' he says, 'Try laying under the starry sky, it will be even more peaceful.' he hears Ruhee say. He turns to look at Ruhee, who was staring at the sky and smiles. She also turns around and their eyes collide. They stare at each other for a moment, when a beach ball lands on Aayan's face. Ruhee starts laughing hysterically.
Aayan sits up, glaring at the beach ball. A small boy runs over, apologizes and takes his ball away. He looks at Ruhee to see her standing up, 'C'mon, we have more rides to ride.' So, off they go to enjoy some more. After some more rides, and laughs, it was past six in the evening, and they were currently sitting in the giant wheel. Ruhee was looking out the window while Aayan was looking at her. 'Thank you.' he says to her, in a soft voice.
Ruhee turns to look at him and gives him a confused look, 'Thank you for today.' he clarifies. Ruhee smiles at him and says, 'Oh it was nothing. I also had fun, so it was for me aswell.' she says. Aayan just nods at her with a smile. Soon, they left the amusement park and drove home. Ruhee had fallen asleep in the drive home. Aayan tried to wake her up, but she didn't budge.
She must have been tired with all the effort.
Aayan carefully gets out of the car and walks to the front door and punches in the code. He walks back to the car and opens Ruhee's side of the door. He removes her seat belt, careful not to wake her up. He takes in a deep breath, before placing his right hand on her back and his left hand under her knees. He carefully lifts her off the seat and out the car. He stands straight and adjusts her in his arms as she snuggles into his chest. He just smiles down at her.
He walks into the house and up the stairs into their room. Instead of placing her onto the couch, he layed her down on the bed. He removes her shoes and places them on the floor. He goes to remove her hijab, one pin, two pin, three pin, and a final pin under her chin. He successfully removes all the pins and the hijab away from her head, after much struggle.
So many pins.
He went back down and bought back the picnic basket from the car and placed it in the kitchen. He walked into the closet, when he realized he had no clothes. He signs removes the white shirt and decides to sleep in the t-shirt and jeans. He walks back into the room, and lays down on his side of the bed. He turns around and stares at Ruhee's sleeping face, which was faced to him. He smiles at her and closes his eyes in content.
I am the one who is lucky.

8 267The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
This isn't a deep book about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell. Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have been there all along.
