《Accidental Nikkah》CHAPTER 32

When you look at the clouds, you can see that they don't move, but we know that they do. They move so slowly that we don't even know it. Then after sometime you see, the entire alignment of the clouds has changed, because they moved on.
So, you might be hurt now, but things are moving, so be patient, this time will also move. It might be going slow, but it will be gone soon.
Aayan didn't know that the articles and comments would upset Ruhee so much. Yesterday when she cried, he just let her. He didn't say anything or ask anything, he just let her let it go. It was hurting him seeing her that way, but he did not know what else he could do.
Ruhee was all gloomy today, she woke up, took a shower, got changed for college and went downstairs for breakfast. She packed it and left to college, before saying goodbye. Aayan just stared at her as she dragged herself to college. He wanted to tell her not to go and rest, but it was better if she went, would keep her mind off things.
"So, did you find out why she has been down lately?" Sahma asks her son, they were having breakfast. Aayan signs and looks at his mother. He contemplates whether to tell her or not, but then he does. "So, you mean she is all upset because of media pressure?" Sahma asks, worried. "Maybe." Aayan replies. "Oh my poor child." Sahma says. "You should do something to cheer her up." Sahma suggests.
Aayan looks at his mother and blinks, "Me?" he asks. "Yes, You." Sahma replies."But what should I do?" he asks her, "I don't know. This generation is out of my mind." Sahma says, Aayan just blinks at her, "If it were the olden days, I would love it if someone sang for me while playing the guitar, and Roses fall over my head..."Sahma just goes on with her imaginary romance.
Me? Sing? While playing the guitar? It's like telling a fish to walk.
Aayan just looks at his mother incredulously, while she just kept talking to space. He reached his office and sat down in his seat to begin his work. After few minutes he stops, and places his pen on his chin, thinking. What Sahma had told him kept running in his mind.
Do something to cheer her up? But what?
He presses the the bell and calls in Mason, and he walks in, holding his tab. Aayan had no clue what he was supposed to tell him, "Mason, I want you to find ways to cheer a girl up?" he says. Mason notes it down in his tab, "Yes sir, Anything els.... Sorry, What!?" Mason asks again in disbelief. Aayan just looks away and says, "Mason, You know I don't like repeating myself." he says, "And I want that before lunch." Aayan adds. Mason nods his head, and leaves the office, doubtful.

God, what am I doing!?
It was almost lunch time and Aayan was completely concentrated on doing his work, a knock is heard on his door, and Mason walks in with his tab," Sir, I have what you requested." Aayan nods, keeps his pen down and looks at Mason, "Read it out." he says. Mason looks at his boss, blinking, "R-Read it... Out?" Mason stutters, Aayan signs, "This is the second time I am telling you today, that I don't like repeating myself." Aayan says. "I'm sorry sir. I'll read it out."
Mason looks at his tab and his face heats up. He clears his throat and begins, "There were alot of options available on the world wide web, so I picked out the top ten." Mason looks at his boss again, any signs of him telling him to stop, was not visible. He looks at his tab and continues, "Ten things to do to cheer your girl up.
1. Take her out on a date, try to distract her from her thoughts.
2. Hug her, so that she can feel loved.
3. Cuddle with her in bed and..."
"Okay, you can stop there." Aayan adds in between. Mason looks at his boss. Aayan had a flustered look on his face as he loosened his tie. "Just, mail me the rest." Aayan says and dismisses him. Mason walks out with a sign of relief. He actually escaped from reading further down. Mason had devoted most of his life to work, so he had no experience in dating or girls, and he was completely oblivious about his looks, that any girl would fall for.
Inside the office, Aayan was heating up. He fanned himself as he suddenly felt hot. "Uff, Why is it getting hot in here?"
Hug her. Cuddle with her in bed.
Mason's words rang in his head like a broken tape. And for some odd reason, those words excited Aayan, at the same time, made him feel embarrassed about liking it. He broke out from his train of thoughts and increased the Air Conditioner.
God, it's really getting hot in here.
Aayan opens up his laptop, to see Mason had already mailed him. He opens up the mail to continue reading.
Ammi's option came in top ten? She really has an imagination.
Aayan closed his laptop and picked up his mobile to place some calls. He had decided what to do and how to do. He was set to lift Ruhee's mood up and hopefully, this works out. As soon as he kept his call down, his mobile rang, Ruhee was calling. He picks it up,"Hello?" "Hey, Aayan, I am planning to go to my parents place after college, so I won't be home till 8pm. Is it okay?" Ruhee asks him. "Yeah, sure." he says, "Are you feeling better?" he adds, cautiously. "Yeah, I'm fine now, thanks for asking........ And also for last night." Ruhee adds in shyly. "Take care, say your family I said Hello, and be safe." he says, with a smile. "Yeah sure, bye." she says and cuts the call. Aayan looks at his mobile screen and smiles.

This is even perfect.
Aayan goes home early. When he reached home, all the things he ordered had already arrived. He got changed into casuals and went into the kitchen, as he was planning to cook dinner. His Ammi just sat in the living room and watched her son be all romantic, with less romance, but she was happy. He was making lasagne, as Ruhee loved it. He placed the dish in the oven and ran up to their bedroom to decorate it. Soon everything was ready, now only Ruhee had to come home. Just then, they heard the sound of the keypad. Aayan quickly ran up to his room, Sahma grabbed her plate of lasagne and went into her room, with a satisfied smile.
------------------------------
Ruhee was really happy. She was exploding with happiness. When she went to her parents home today, she was expecting an awkward silence, but she saw everyone happy. Turns out that her brother had finally realised his mistake, and that to after Ruhee had spoken to him. He was gonna give 75% of his salary to their father every month, and they could run the house with it. She was so happy.
My family is together, forever.
Ruhee entered the house to find it empty, and oddly silent. She called out to Sahma but she didn't reply. She was on her way to Sahma's room to check on her, when the light bulb infornt of her bedroom turned on. She looked at it and walked up the stairs. She stood in front of the room and stared up at the light.
Is it broken? Why did it turn on all of a sudden?
And she opened the bedroom door to enter. As she entered the room, red rose petals fell over her. She looked at them falling and a smile grew on her lips. She walked in further and the lights in the room turned on. The view bought an even bigger smile on her lips. The floor was covered with balloons of white and red colour. On the bed, was a breakfast in bed table. On the table, was a lit dinner candle, two white roses in a small red case, two plates and glasses and spoons and folks.
She heard the closet door open and Aayan walked out, dressed in black jeans and a white shirt, holding a bouquet of Ruhee's favourite flowers, white roses. He walked towards her and extended the bouquet to her. The big smile was still intact on Ruhee's face, as she accepted the bouquet. Aayan just scratched the back of his head.
Ruhee looked at the bouquet and smiled wider. She looked at Aayan and said, "Thank You. This is really beautiful but, why all this?" She asked him. He looked at her and said, "Umm well, you were kinda, I mean, very sad yesterday, so Ammi suggested that I do something to cheer you up so...." He said, shyly. "You did this because Ammi told you to?" Ruhee asks, trying to tease him. Aayan looks at Ruhee alarmed, "Oh no no, I also wanted to cheer you up, I mean, you seemed so different when you were all sad and gloomy, so I wanted to bring that beautiful happy face and...." he blabbered.
"You think I am beautiful?" she asks him again, enjoying his flustered look. "Yes, I mean No,..... I mean kinda..." Aayan stops when he heard Ruhee giggle. He looked at her and just smiled. Ruhee looked up at him with a smile, to see him already smiling at her. "Thank you." she said, with so much meaning in her words. Aayan nodded and said, "The media had really frightened you. I prefer you always happy." "Wait, what media?" Ruhee asks him. And Aayan told her how he thought she was sad because of the articles and comments.
Ruhee just laughed at his assumption. "Why are you laughing?" he asks her with a frown. Ruhee shakes her head and says, "You are just too cute sometimes...." "Huh?" she hears Aayan say, "And since you did all this to cheer me up, I owe you an explanation." and Ruhee explains him everything that happened at her home, till today. Aayan just listens to her without saying anything. "So, you were not upset because of the media?" Aayan asks her, and she shakes her head.
Ruhee looked at Aayan with a smile, as she could tell he was getting embarrassed. Aayan looks at Ruhee and says, "I am happy that your family is okay now, but why did you tell me? You didn't have to." he asks her.
Because I trust you with it.
Ruhee just shrugs. She sniffs the air, as she could smell something delicious. "Something smells like lasagna." she says, relishing the smell. "Oh yes, I baked Lasagne for dinner, since you like it that much." Aayan says, scratching the back of his neck. "You baked lasagne? For me?" she asks, surprised, and Aayan just nods. "Then let's eat it before it goes cold." saying this, she goes into the closet and gets changed. She comes out wearing black jeans and white buttoned up, long sleeved frock. She wanted to twin.
Aayan had served them a block of lasagne each. They settled down on the bed and enjoyed their meal while making small talks. Ruhee was really happy today, and it was all thanks to the sweet man sitting before her.
My husband is really amazing.
