I came up with this story summer 2020 after I had just found watt and was nomming through werewolf stories like quarantine popcorn. (I was a silent reader-- I'm so sorry!) I ended up getting stung by a wasp in the center of my palm and as the pain kept me up at night, I wished I had healing powers like a werewolf. But then I wondered what would happen to a werewolf if it got stung by a bee that had been pollinating wolfsbane. Would it hurt him then? What about if a werewolf ate honey from wolfsbane nectar? Then in my mind I saw this great farm keeping bees and tons of wolfsbane and the story grew into why someone was keeping so much wolfsbane on their property. And werewolf stories are typically all that mate love at first sight business, so I wanted to play with that a bit, where you feel instantly for one, but slowly fall for another. [aka the author is a jerk and wanted to confuse everyone LOL].

Boom! Wolf Cakes.

As I was trying to decide if Nate and Elise should kiss and how she would react, I ended up having this massive coughing attack and realized that was the answer. He could think it was her with the wolfsbane, but maybe it was just her body rejecting another's advances. *shrugs* I still don't know which of the two.

When Nate invited her to stay in his hospital room, I couldn't write for like fifteen minutes. I wasn't sure what to say because I could see the story from both places. Elise and I both had to pause LOL.

When I was cleaning the house once, I randomly burst into hooting laughter and my poor guy yells from the other room, "What?!" I didn't know how to explain just learning that big bad tough Alpha Milo wanted to talk up the birds and the bees with his girl. Said "Just learned a plot point for my story is all!" haha

When Milo was laying wolfsbaned up in his hospital bed and asked Elise to go to the transfer ceremony my own face squished up in annoyance. "Yes" she of course would say back but I was grouchy. I figured my story was almost done and there was another full chapter the characters wanted me to write that I wasn't planning on. But some of my loyal readers made a comment that intrigued me, so I figured Alpha Milo was going to get his way and have her show up for the ceremony. If it weren't for those comments that chapter wouldn't exist.
