CRASH!

We hear the windows destroyed. Lena immediately became alert and quickly shifted into her wolf. My eyes are bewitched by how the color of her fur is. It showed a captivating brown color with no other color highlights. It was natural and pleasant.

"It's them!" Valerio's eyes turned maroon red and I immediately snapped from my reverie and realized that we are being ambushed from the outside.

"Don't attack!" I told them and heaved a heavy sigh of bravery, "you guys stay here."

"They will kill you!" Valerio yells at me and before I could say anything--- about two or more men entered through the windows and held Valerio and Ema down.

All of them were wearing black clothing and I'm guessing that these clothing must have masked their auras. There is a huge possibility.

The ones who held them down have a silver knife almost staked at their throats. I believe Ema mentioned about silver metals that could easily kill them. My whole persona panicked at the sight of danger.

"Lena!" I see Lena being pinned down by the others while injecting her with something. Lena whimpers and cries in pain. Valerio was about to go to her but then I shouted at him to stop because he would end up dying.

Sooner or later, Lena slowly shifted back into her human form. What substance did they inject on her?!

"If you guys kill me today, Angelica won't prosper with her goal. Lawrence will be depressed and will not love Angelica. You guys should think about the outcome." I bravely face them, "don't harm my friends, just take me to her."

"Are you referring us idiots, Ms. Claire? We are here to get you." One of them replied, "but first we have to mask your bond from Lawrence. We are no ordinary rogues that Ma'am Angelica hired."

Mask my bond..

"What?"

"We are accompanied by a witch that can do such spells—that's why your mate and his wolf gang are frazzled and clueless of our whereabouts."

What the.. Witch?

"Make one flaw and your friends will die."

This is for the best. It's better this way than to let them join me on going to Angelica. I'm kind of relieved that this happened because if not—then they could have been harmed more if we are to track with the note and go to them ourselves.

"Close your eyes and take a deep breath." The man who talked to me earlier tells me

"DON'T DO THIS!" Valerio shouts. I can tell Ema is weakening beside him.

"Leo!" I witness Leo getting hit by a bullet on the arm. I smell Wolf's bane on it. If it was a normal bullet then Leo will have no struggle to recover from the wound but right now, he needs medication.

Where did that come from?

I saw a man in black with a gun on his hand while riding a motorcycle. Shit, he's getting away. I can't catch up to him at this right. My car is on the parking lot below the building and I can't simply shift into a wolf with all the spectators lurking around.

FUCK!

"Leo, I'll mind-link the others. Stay inside the building, got it?"

"Alpha.. It's Ema.. She's telling me that they got Claire.."

I don't quite get it. Why would Angelica go through extreme measures just so Lawrence and I will separate and that she can have Lawrence all for herself. I kind of understand her intentions but this is way too out of hand. She even seduced my dad then kidnapped him afterwards. I think it was because I slapped her across the face that made her infuriated more. I can't help it—she was out of control.

I'm worried of my dad's state. I need to save him first before confronting Angelica about Lawrence and I's separation. My dad is helpless because he is human and I know Lawrence can handle such drastic measures.

I kind of regretted why I didn't tell Lawrence. Was it because this is my own battle of intimacy? Was it because I want to face Angelica alone and tell her right in the face that Lawrence is mine and mine only?

Or was it because I want to seemingly be brave despite the impediments being thrown at me?

I don't want my beloved getting hurt because of me but I don't blame myself because of that.

I blame Angelica. She's the reason behind this mess and I'm going to make her pay for all the things she has ran now.

"Are we there yet?" I ask one of the kidnappers. I'm not scared or anything. I know they won't harm me but I bet Angelica would.

"Aren't you scared of us, human?"

"Uh no? I mean, why would I?" I answer one of them, "besides, you guys have all been hired to do these stuffs. I don't know why you guys desperately heed Angelica's instructions."

"She's the daughter of the alpha that saved us before and to repay him we will heed her daughter's instructions."

"Even if her motives are rather inconclusive and selfish?"

Then they shut up. They should be better than this idiotic escapade.

"You guys are way better than this." I told them straight to the point and they just look at me.

"We don't have other options."

"Yes you guys have---"

"Enough with the chit-chat! We've arrived! Ma'am Angelica is getting impatient!" Someone opens the door with such anger and all of us flinched a little.

This is it. I'm going to face her. I still haven't forgotten about what she wrote in that piece of paper. I choose neither of those.

It's time to face what's in front of me with my own way.

"I'm sorry, Lawrence.." Lena was covered in sheets and was hugged by Valerio. The house is a devastating mess. They have been ambushed, "they were too clever and strong."

I roughly kick the coffee table with brute force. It broke into half.

DAMN IT!

"I-Is Leo all right?" Ema asks me with teary eyes, "I-I felt his pain.."

"He was shot with a bullet containing Wolf's bane but it was nothing critical. He will be fine." I need to keep my composure or else I'd break loose. Eadin has been whimpering inside of me—blaming me for leaving Claire here. Now the men got her.

"Lawrence.." Lena holds out a piece of paper. When I read the contents, it was what Angelica sent earlier that made Claire broke into tears.

I have forgotten to sniff this note earlier because I was too caught up with Claire's emotions. This woman is still idiotic. She doesn't know that wolves can track through smell. She must have been here after the kidnap—not accompanied by her men who can mask her smell. She was being excited and stuff.

"Don't bring the pack members. You must go with yourself only. Claire has already gotten depressed due to the situation that she has been dragging the others into danger."

"I won't let you down and I will surely bring Claire and George back here safe and sound."

I immediately left them and got into the car. Claire is not facing this problem alone. This was all my fault.

I see dad being tied up in a chair with only a lamp above him as the source of light. Angelica's men threw me in here earlier. My eyes welled up in tears as I noticed that dad was unconscious.

"Angelica, stop this madness right now! You're being indecisive!" I know Angelica is somewhere this vicinity.

"So, have you decided yet?" Angelica emerges from the dark and hovers her way to my dad. Her smirk what keeps me angry with bloodlust. I see no signs of weapons around here. There is only a long table placed a few feet away from dad and Angelica.

I'm just standing here.. Praying and hoping for any miraculous things to happen. I'm beginning to wonder if Lawrence had already known that I'm here all alone—fighting this bitch in front of me.

"Please.. I love Lawrence. Why do you keep on pushing yourself on him?!"

"You don't know how much pain I've encountered! Lawrence is the only one for me!" Angelica yells out hysterically. She's a sociopath—a psycho.

"Yet he is not your mate! HE'S MINE!"

"You know what? It's funny, haha!" Now she is laughing, "I don't want anyone else but Lawrence.. So, reject him so that he will be mine!"

"No! I'm not going to give in with your wishes!" Shit, she's too crazy to handle. How can I let her snap out from her fantasy? She knows she can't do anything.

"I'll just have to kill your father then. That would be much easier!" Angelica raises a knife from behind and my whole body froze, "then next is going to be you!"

"N-no, please.. Not my father.." Now my confidence on confronting her has vanished. I can't stop her due to the distance.

But I had to.. I had to—

"NO!" I completely ran towards her while yelling so that her attention will land on me. It will take her a couple of seconds to register until I snatch the knife away from her.

I successfully pounced at her and I immediately grabbed the knife and tried throwing it away but then unexpectedly... She was pretty strong.

Then something hit me. She must be a wolf.

"Bad move." She instantly threw me away with one push. I was constantly a few feet away from her. I literally cough hard due to the impact she caused. My body is beginning to go numb in such a span of time.

I notice that she threw the knife towards me but I luckily dodged it however it somehow got into my arm a little. I feel thick blood oozing out from my wound. I hissed in pain as it was too overbearing.

"You messed with the wrong bitch---"

Somehow I notice someone approaching towards her, it was dad. I also realized that he was not being unconscious at all. I look under his chair and the rope was untied. He was just trying to play unconscious while untying his rope.

"DON'T TOUCH HER!" Dad tackles Angelica with extreme force and I immediately scurried away.

I realize that Angelica is really pissed off. I see canines forming between her lips.

Oh no!

"DAD! LOOK OUT!"

Angelica bites dad's arm and dad shouts in pain. My whole mind completely quivered when it realized that the bite is far too deep for a human to handle.

Something hit me..

Something inside of me erupted.. I feel heat rising up my body. Somehow I can feel bones cracking.

I had the other pack members to help me defeat the men. I didn't really listen to Lena earlier. I can't do this alone either.

I tracked Angelica's scent in a basement.

But that's when I noticed some strange presence once I entered.

There is a wolf--- it's golden brown. It has this aura that is really powerful. It is looking at Angelica with such malice. I noticed that George's arm is bitten by her. My eyes got darker. Where is Claire? I can't seem to find her!

But then again, the wolf on the other side...

When its eyes landed on mine, I immediately recognized it.

Those eyes that I've always seen.. That I've always loved to stare.. That always made me caught up in a bewitching trance..

It's Claire..
