《Mi Reina》Chapter Fifty Eight - Family

It's been a week since Rico told me about Ziva, his late sister. From then on, I understood him much more than I initially did. The way he felt uncomfortable when I tied a ponytail in front of him, the tattoo that he had with the initials 'ZR', it all added up.
All Rico, my son...he's officially my son now...And I had been doing was enjoying our lives. We went out almost everyday now since we didn't have to worry much about getting hurt by...Adrian. There were guards who came along with us, just in case something did happen.
"Momma, Momma!" Nico exclaimed while he jumped in excitement, pointing at the aquarium we were standing in front of. "I saw a big shark!"
Now looking in the direction he was pointing at, I saw two huge sharks in the huge tank. Clearly, they wouldn't be able to hurt us because we weren't in the tank but Nico thought otherwise.
"No, no, no, no, no..." He mumbled, taking step backwards as he inched closer to me. The hand that he wrapped around my thigh tightened it's hold with every passing second.
"There's nothing to be afraid of." Rico told his son. "They are very dangerous creatures but they can't hurt us because we're out here and they're in there."
Just as Rico finished his sentence, one of the sharks came closer to the tank, causing Nico to let out a loud shriek and turned to me, hiding his face between my legs.
Knowing that he would feel better, I wrapped my arms around his tiny body and carried him. Almost instinctively, he placed his head between my neck and shoulder while simultaneously wrapping both of his legs around my hips.
Since I was wearing an oversize jacket, I carefully wrapped him up in the extra space which brought him closer to me, if that was even possible. Rico looked at us and pouted.
"That's not fair!" The man-child exclaimed. "Why can't I be hugged like that?"
I chuckled at his reaction and replied, "It's because I can't carry you like I do with Nico."
"So, you're saying I'm fat?" He asked, clearly teasing me.
"Yes," I smirked. "that's exactly what I'm saying."
Playfully, he narrowed his eyes at me and shook his head a little, like he was scheming a plan in his mind for something but I didn't think much of it. Instead, I walked away from the aquarium because of Nico's fear and pulled Rico along.

"I want ice-cream..." Nico said, holding me tighter than he previously was.
"Me too." I replied, kissing his cheek and told Rico that we wanted ice-cream. He smiled and said, "Anything for my family."
My heart melted at his words...we are a family now. I love these two children, yes children, with all of my heart and if I'm being honest, I would do anything for them.
"I want the Vanilla flavor!" The little boy announced and not soon after, we stood in an ice cream parlor waiting for our orders to be served.
"I'll be back with the whipped cream." I told Nico as handed him the warm mug of hot chocolate that I had just finished preparing.
As I walked towards the kitchen, I noticed that Rico had standing near the stove, trying to drink the hot chocolate that I had made only for myself because he didn't want one when I asked him. I inwardly smiled as an idea made it's way to my mind.
Now tip-toeing, I crept up behind Rico so that I could scare him. But all my plans went downhill as he turned around with a blank expression.
"Babe, I'm the Don of the Mexican mafia." He stated. "I've been training for years so there's no way that you could have sneaked up on me. I'll always be first."
"Yeah, first from the bottom." I teased, reaching for handle of the refrigerator.
"Oh, really?" He raised an eyebrow, challenging me as he rested the palms of his hands rested on my hips. We looked right into each others' eyes, not saying anything in the moment. All I could see was the love and happiness that he had in his eyes and I'm pretty sure that he could see the same in mine.
"You remember how you told me a few hours ago that you couldn't hug like you did for Nico? At the aquarium?" He asked me, a smirk making it's way onto his face.
"Yeeeahhh..." I dragged the word, wondering why he would ask me this question right now.
"Well, there is a way." He stated. "Do you want to know how?"
"How is-" I stopped myself from continuing any further. "Okay, how?"
The hands that previously rested on my hips traveled upwards, pulling the hem of my oversize sweater with it too. I was confused for a second, but all of that vanished when he slipped into my sweater. Yes, my sweater. This butt-head, right here, decided that it would be a great idea to wear my top while I was.

By doing that, the turtleneck slid over my head, revealing the skin from below my navel. I was so glad that I decided to wear a bra today.
"See, I told you it could happen." He said, while all I saw was darkness, our foreheads were touching at this point.
When the both of us ran out of breathe, we broke the kiss; our heavy breathing being the only thing that I could hear at the moment.
His smile. His eyes. His lips. His hair. His laugh. His hands. His smirk. His humor. His weird face. I loved everything about him. About Rico.
"Nico's probably waiting for the whipped cream." I spoke up, as I thought of the reason that I had entered the kitchen in the first place.
Placing a small peck on the corner of my lips, Rico replied, "He probably is."
Pulling away from the embrace, he slid out of my sweater but not before placing a kiss just below my bra. Due to his action, a fluttery feeling erupted in my tummy and all Rico did was smirk, clearly aware of the effect he had on me.
I couldn't let him get the satisfaction of knowing that he teased me...so I made sure to get him back. As I grabbed the can of whipped cream from the fridge, I put some on my index finger and ate, making sure to make eye contact with him.
His jaw dropped open and before he could get any closer to me, I ran out of the kitchen and to the living room where Nico had patiently been waiting.
I topped the hot chocolate with the can of fluffy vanilla cream and sat next to him on the couch while we spoke about how our day went. I made sure that we did this every night with him because communication one of the most important things that a child needs to get exposure to.
Normally, we would speak for hours together but since we went out to the aquarium today, Nico and I slept really quickly, even before Rico could come. I laid next to my little jellybean, content with my life.
I woke up to the sound of two people speaking, Rico and Nico, to be specific.
"She's MY Momma, so she sleeps in my room." Nico whined.
"But she is MY girlfriend, so she sleeps in my room." Rico argued back.
I couldn't believe my ears! These two were having a conversation on whose room I would sleep in? Wow...
Wanting to sleep peacefully, I hushed them away.
"See, Dadda. You woke my Momma up." Nico said.
I heard Rico sigh and then announce, "Alright, my bed is the biggest so all of us can sleep together."
"Okay!" I could literally imagine him jumping up and down with joy.
Not a minute later, I felt being carried, bridal-style, by none other than Rico. One of his muscular arms wound itself around my back and the other just behind my knees.
After my eyes adjusted to the light, I could clearly see Rico's side profile. I couldn't see his eyes from where I was, but what I could see was his five o' clock shadow. And damn, did that look hot.
A small smile crept it's way onto his face for a reason unknown to me so I closed my eyes back again and acted like I like I was still sleeping being the actress that I was.
Once I was laid down onto the bed, I felt Nico snuggle into my arms on my left and I made no second thought to pull him closer to me. Turning to my side, I wrapped an arm around him and kissed his forehead.
Just after that, I felt another arm around my waist and just by the touch, I knew it was Rico; it was only his touch that could give me that slight electrifying feeling.
He kissed the back of my neck and whispered into my ear, "I know you're awake, babe. Goodnight, I love you."
I smiled at his words and craned my neck to give him a chaste kiss on his lips. "Goodnight, and I love you too."
Soon enough, I fell asleep in the arms of the two most important people in my life. But they weren't just people; they were my life, my soul and my heart.
I don't know what I would do without them, my favorite Ramirezes.

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.
