《Mi Reina》Chapter Thirty Eight - Vacation

"Alright. Is the jet ready?" I asked through the phone, waiting for Antonio to answer on the other line.
"Yep." He replied. "You know, I bet that you're happy because you can finally spend some alone time with that woman that you're practically drooling over literally twenty-four seven."
"I don't drool over her, okay?" I tried defending myself, while walking downstairs to the living room.
"Whatever you say, Mr. I'm falling in love but I'm going to deny it." He mocked.
"Bye!" I said, and hung up the phone because if I continued speaking, I knew that I would never hear the end of it.
It was the next day and it was decided that the three of us; Nico, Xia and I would be travelling out of Spain today. I feel a guilty for leaving Toni and Callum in charge because I know that there's a lot of work to do but they convinced me that I needed a break from it seeing that I never had one from the time that Nico started school.
Speaking of school, I requested his principal to talk to the parents of that boy named Kace and at the same time, informed him that Nico wouldn't be attending classes for a while; I didn't give a reason to why he wasn't and neither did the principal ask.
"I'm can't wait to see the new and improved Ric when you get back." Callum teased, a smirk across his face.
"What am I, dog food?" I retort, standing across him now.
"I meaaaann..." He drags the word.
"Cal," I paused, which resulted in him humming. "I have a loaded gun fastened in my holster and won't be hesitant to use on you it if you don't shut up."
I was clearly joking. Regardless of how annoying and how often he and Antonio get on my nerves, not once has the thought of hurting them crossed my mind. Yes, I do feel like punching them occasionally but I would never do that to them nor any of my men unless they're spies working for the enemy.

"Yeah, right. I'm too precious to you." He said, moving his head to the side and placing the back of his hand on his forehead. "You could never hurt me."
What a drama queen!
I shook my head in disbelief and walked past him to Nico, who was eating breakfast at the dining table.
"Good Morning, my favorite son." I greeted, kissing his forehead.
"Dadda, I'm your only son." He reminded me, taking a bite of the eggs that I had managed to make just before Toni called me.
"Well, you're still my favorite." I smiled. "Okay, so you remember a few weeks back when you told me that you wanted to go on a vacation? Somewhere fun?"
"Yeah." He replied, a grin spreading across his face like he knew what I was about to say.
"Well, we're going to Majorca!" I announced.
"Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah!" Nico exclaimed, jumping on the chair with joy.
Yup, Majorca. It's an island that not too far away from here. I know that it's a little too much to travel all the way there just for for a hide out but I wanted Nico and Xia to have a nice time.
"But..." I said, which drew his attention to me again. "You can't tell, Xia, okay? I want it to be a surprise for her."
He nodded eagerly, "Okay, I won't."
"Alright, I'll be back." I ruffled his hair and walked back upstairs towards Xia's room. I knocked on the door and waited for her to respond and when she did with a 'come in', I opened the door, revealing a dressed up Xia.
She was wearing a spaghetti-strapped grayish cropped top with an oversize denim jacket of the same color and even the same colored sweatpants. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun, a few strands of her hair peeking out from the front.

Like everyday other day, she hadn't applied more makeup than just lip gloss and eyeliner which made her her look effortlessly breathtaking.
"Pictures last longer, Rico." Her voice brought me out of my daze.
"I know that, babe which is why I tell you that so often." I cheekily replied.
She narrowed her eyes at me, and I wasn't sure whether it was because of my reply or the nickname I gave her, and continued, "You still haven't told me where we're going."
"I'm aware and I won't be until we reach there." I said, folding my arms across my chest.
"You know, I really love surprises..." She stated, walking towards me. "...but I would really love if you'd just tell me."
By now she was only an inch away from me, the tips of her fingers trailing down from my shoulders to my arms. I knew what she was doing, trying to seduce me into telling her. Normally, I would tell her but the reason that I didn't, was because it was her birthday a few days from now and she had always wanted to go to Majorca.
So I made it happen. And no, I didn't go through her files. I told Nico to ask her when her birthday was and Antonio where her dream travel destination was. This way, she wouldn't expect me to surprise her.
Luckily, I already own a beach house in Majorca so it would be the perfect place for us to live in.
Xia has been taking care of Nico for the last two months; helping with homework, cooking for him and even playing with him which has helped me so much.
I am so thankful for her coming into our lives. She has a smile that lights up the room. She is just...perfect. As I thought of her, the night that we kissed drifted across my thoughts.
On the night that we brought Nico home, I was so captive by her looks and how beautiful she looked the whole night. While she was wrapping the gauze around my wound, I looked at her like she was the only thing in the entire room.
How she furrowed her perfect eyebrows slightly and pouted her plump lips when she thought about how the gauze was to be put. I still vividly remember pulling her close to me which brought our lips only inches away from each other's, feeling her comparatively small hands rest on my shoulders, bringing a wave of electricity through me.
As soon as my lips had made contact with hers, it felt like there were fireworks erupting in my tummy and what surprised me the most was the fact that she responded to my touch by kissing me back.
Her usual vanilla scent made me hungry, eager for more. She clouded my thoughts almost every second, every minute and every hour of every day for the last two weeks. The thought of her soft lips on mine drove me crazy.
But no matter how much I wanted her, I knew that I had to wait. She said that she wanted to take things slow and that was exactly what I was going to do. I can't believe that around two months back, I wouldn't even thought about a woman in my life but here I am, thinking about Xia.

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mon at 9:00 AM Tue at 12:00 PM Wed at 3:00 PM Thu at 6:00 PM Fri at 9:00 PM Sun at 12:00 AM

The Brotherhood Archive:Crossroads(Revised)
All people great or small have a story - Patriarch Lord Theris'Heron Soletus, was on the verge of becoming a warden in the Dias Brotherhood until his father holds him back. It isn't one that test doesn’t test his physical strength, but his strength of character. He is paired up with a shy and traumatized boy name Mien. However, when Soletus’s resolve to help starts to waiver, Mien does something unexpected and Soletus decides that the boy deserves a second chance not as an act of duty but as a friend. Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it.
