《VERDICT OF LOVE》Chapter 8

The ray of light from the morning sun shining brightly into my room woke me up to begin my day.
Yesterday turned out good as I was with Emma keeping me busy with her lively easygoing self.
Today is the beginning of another semester, I have a feeling this semester will be so different bringing changes to my life if this change right now isn't enough.
I sound like a mediator right now. I groan loudly just to be dramatic before going into the bathroom brushing my teeth feeling happiness spry inside me for a reason unknown to me.
I strip off my clothes examining my flat stomach where my unborn child is nesting while standing in front of the full-length mirror.
I don't know what the student will think of me after noticing I am pregnant, I am actually known as the girl whose parents are poor but find favor in the billionaire son's eyes, capturing him with my beauty.
The story is a bit absurd but what do you expect because throughout my high school no one knew my parents even during school events my family never attended.
I am usually independent, a girl who was known as a benevolence case to the only son of a billionaire.
It was depressing to think your family was ashamed of you going as far as to change your last name before coming to understand it was just for my safety letting me have a simple normal life than living a life filled with spectators.
I sigh loudly rubbing my stomach before stepping into the shower washing my hair with the shampoo and my body with body wash, after taking my bath I step out wrapping a towel around myself before stepping into the room, checking through my closet deciding on an ash loose sweater, black leggings, and black heel snicker.
I create a small path in the middle of my head before curling the tip of my hair leaving it to rest on my shoulder, I put on little lip gloss on my lip before doing a quick check-in front of the mirror satisfied with the look I left my room pulling my handbag on my shoulder.
I pass by Emma's room deciding not to wake her just yet knowing she is someone who doesn't like to be bothered in the morning and I am also not really in the mood for her morning mood swings.
Making my way towards the dining room hearing voices coming from in there, walking into Damien and Louis sitting on both sides of the dining table, and to my surprise, Emma was in the room well dressed ready to leave for class sitting close to Damien while they both have breakfast.
"good morning, " I greet walking into the kitchen while they answered back with a morning.
I place my bag on one of the chairs in the dining room before walking into the kitchen checking the cupboard for cereal finding a box I place it on the counter before taking a glass of milk, a plate, and a spoon.

I pick the items walking toward the dining room taking a seat close to Louis "so are you set for today?" Louis raises a question sipping a glass of water before glancing my way.
I shrug opening the box of cornflakes " yeah I guess so" I say pouring some into my plate before adding a little milk.
"so where is Chance?" I question noticing his absence in the room.
"he left early this morning because he has an early morning class today," Damien says placing his hand over the back of Emma's chair.
"Okay," I say before scooping a spoon of cereals into my mouth " Emma are we having any class together ?" I swallow the bite in my mouth before inquiring glancing at her.
I am studying luxury and fashion management while Emma is studying fashion design "I don't know yet," she says pulling her phone from her purse on the dinner table.
The incident of yesterday run through my mind making me uneasy, it is not that big of an issue but I just feel something is not right " do you think Chance is alright? " I ask nobody, in particular, focusing my gaze on Damien and Louis.
They both glance at each other with an unreadable expression before glancing back at me " what do you mean? " Louis asks fiddling with his phone.
"I don't know he just seems so disturbed," I say with a frown glancing at the glass of milk on the table " he is behaving so distinct "
I glance to meet the confused face of Emma before glancing back at the table " I think he just tired from the stress going on with the company and all" Damien says sounding alarmed.
He is right, it may be from emphasis from the company knowing his father is not an easy man to understand "you are right" I say as we eat in silence.
I got up cleaning my mess as well as the others " Emma we should be leaving now" I say urging her to move her lazy self off the couch so we could get moving.
"Okay," she says getting up from the couch kissing Damien goodbye since he is leaving together with Louis in his car before walking towards the garage.
She got into the driver's seat while I got into the front seat of her car.
"play something, " I say as she pulls out of the garage.
"Okay," she says before turning on the radio as a song came busting through the speaker.
Sorry not sorry by Demi Lovato plays bringing a smile on her face "do you think my mum would let me get tickets to the next theater show coming up?" she asked making a turn out of the empty street into the busy road.
"Maybe since it is their first show for this semester," I say looking at the cars passing by us with a few buildings we drove past.

"I will just have to ask," she says with a smirk I know so well "and you are coming with me"
I knew she must be up to something immediately that smirk appeared on her lips but I will let her have this one for now.
We sing along to the music acting a little bit crazy getting weird looks from passing cars.
She pulled into the parking lot before packing in an empty spot " we are here" she announces coming out of the car while I do the same.
The school was full as usual with people gossiping, running to their classes, and doing whatever so ever, we made our way towards the administrator's building to check our schedules.
Entering into the building we walk towards the front desk "how are you doing? " a lady behind a computer with shot blonde hair asks with a polite smile.
"outstanding, I am Emmalynn Harley Hector " Emma introduced while the lady named Victoria from her name tagged on her uniform typed her name into the computer.
"here you go," she says handling Emma's schedule to her with a smile.
"Thanks, " Emma says taking the schedule with a smile on her lips.
"And you young lady," she says glancing my way with the same smile on her lips.
"Shiloh Malia Sante" she types my name the same way before giving me my schedule.
We thanked her before leaving, as it turns out we have no classes together so we said our goodbyes agreeing to meet in the parking lot after classes.
~~~~~~~~
The lectures today were both interesting and boring, but I am grateful it is over for today, I walk towards the parking lot where Emma parked her car hoping she is also done with her classes.
I walk towards the car to find her together with Sylvia talking while resting their backs on her car making me stop momentarily for a few seconds a bit confused by Sylvia's presence.
"Um...what are you doing here?" I asked confused that she is here without informing me.
She is currently wearing a dark shade covering her eyes, a blue hoodie with the hood covering her hair, and black jeans then for footwear black, sneakers.
She was covering as much as possible so no one should recognize her easily.
She smiles "good day to you too," she says sarcastically, I glance towards Emma finding her staring back at me "I came here to speak with you," she says earnestly.
"about what? "I ask already knowing the reason for her visit because I am so convinced Emma told her everything.
"let's talk somewhere else," she asserts pulling from the car before walking towards where her car was parked.
I got in the back seat with her after saying goodbye to Emma after then the driver pulls out of the parking lot going towards a direction unknown to me.
Refusing to meet her gaze I focus my attention outside the window, we pulled in front of a restaurant.
The driver got down before pulling open the door letting us both step out, I followed her lead into the restaurant.
The restaurant wasn't busy just with a few customers, after she gave our orders she directed me towards a booth at the end region of the restaurant.
We both sat on either side of the booth my heart beating from the heavy killing silence.
"Emma told me everything, " she says staring at me intensely confirming my suspicion "why didn't you tell me? " she questioned sounding frustrated.
I glance back at her without saying a word my mind going into overdrive with so many things running through my mind.
"Shiloh " she calls raising her voice a little seeing I wasn't saying anything.
I took a deep breath finding words to say but nothing seems to be the right thing to say at this moment " it's complicated " I say averting my gaze from her.
A male waiter interrupts her from replying immediately as he places our order on the table before leaving, I am not really in the mood to eat anything right now, so I pushed the plate away feeling nauseous just from the sight of the food " I don't know what is going on with you because you won't tell me anything " she says flustered.
"I am just trying to figure things out myself, " I say with a sigh blinking back the uneasy feeling.
"I can talk some sense into Chance" she suggests staring at me with concern in her eyes.
"thanks but Chance is going through a difficult time and I don't want to add to that," I say mellowly.
"We are here for you so don't feel that you are alone, okay, " she says sadly holding my hands on the table tightly "I promise I will get Dad to forgive you, " she says smiling warmly at me.
I stare at her intensely finding hope in her words before a wide smile appears on my lip "thank you" I whisper back with a smile.
"enough with this go ahead and eat " she urges taking a bite from her plate of baked chicken Parmesan.
"I am not hungry I will just drink a little coke," I say pouring the coke into a glass before sipping a little.
Sylvia looked at me shock evident in her eyes "who are you and what have you done with my sister ?" she asks staring at my plate of chili-stuffed sweet potato before glancing back at me still surprised.
I bust out in laughter while she joins me gaining weird looks from others.
I hope she keeps her promise.
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
