《The Ghost (Ghost #1)》Bonus Chapter - the Question

Lia

The sound of Bad Wolves fills the car as Blake drives to Walford. We decided to go there for our break, since we finished our exams early. It's so nice having a smart boyfriend.

"Wanna stop for a bite?" Blake asks as we're about an hour away, near Taliano.

"No, we're not that far. Unless you're hungry." I shrug.

"Okay then." Blake only smiles, pulling my hand to leave a peck on my knuckles.

We drive the rest of the way in comfortable silence, with me playing with Blake's hand. We've been on the road for many hours, so we don't really feel the need to fill the silence anymore.

We pull up in front of Blake's house a while later and I don't miss the fact that neither Sam's nor Jared's cars are in the driveway. Looks like we're alone. Blake parks his car then we take our bags and get inside. It's freezing and I'm craving a hot cocoa or at least a coffee.

"I'm going to make coffee, want some?" I call out as Blake takes my bag to his room.

"Yeah. Thanks, baby!" I grin at his manners. Such a good boy, maybe I'll give him a reward later.

I pour the hot drink into two mugs and take a pack of cookies from the cupboard then head to the living room, turning on Netflix. Since we don't have anything to do, might as well 'Netflix and chill', literally. The other meaning is reserved strictly for when we're in the bedroom.

"Oooh, cookies! My kitten knows me so well." Blake joins me on the couch, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me into his side.

"Of course I do. Here, your coffee." I hand him his mug, putting the cookies between our legs. "What do you wanna watch?"

"I'm fine with anything." I only shake my head and choose a Korean drama, Descendants of the Sun.

We're on the 3rd episode when Jared comes home. He doesn't even notice us as he's talking on the phone. Blake chortles quietly before getting off the couch. I give him a puzzled look, but he only winks and walks up to his father.

"BOO!!"

"AAAH!" I almost laugh at Jared's high-pitched voice. "Motherfucking son of a-! Blake!" Jared puts his hand over his heart before pulling his son into a hug.

"Hi Lia." Jared greets me after releasing Blake from his arms.

"Hi Jared."

"Sam is going to freak out. – he laughs – You could've at least called."

After talking for a while with Jared, he goes back to his office, since he's still got some work to do. Blake and I decide to make dinner, since Sam is still at work. Over the few months I've lived with Blake, I taught him cooking basics, so he can help me cook.

We cook in silence, only exchanging few words when needed, but as usual, Blake keeps groping me every chance he gets. I can barely get any real cooking done because of that, but I don't say anything. It's nice knowing that Blake's feelings didn't change over the last months.

I was actually afraid that after leaving to college, Blake would find someone better, someone without past, without scars. But he didn't. He stayed faithful and not even once made me doubt him. He turned down any girl that as much as tried to flirt with him, not even giving them a chance. My amazing man.

"Let's go take a bath." I'm pulled from my thoughts by Blake's voice.

I give him a puzzled look. "Bath? Now?"

"Once we're done, obviously. – he chuckles before giving me a heavy look, wrapping his arms around my waist – It's been a long trip and I'm exhausted. I have to replenish my energy..." He suggestively whispers into my ear, making me snort in amusement. My pervy cakey.

"Damn you. Fine, just let me finish this." I give in, patting his hand. Blake only hums in approval and stays behind me, putting his chin on my shoulder as he watches me work.

Blake

After my kitten is done with the food and places it in the oven, setting the timer for 90 minutes, I swiftly pick her up and with brisk steps carry her to my bathroom. We have over an hour and I intend to enjoy it to the fullest.

"Oh my god... Why did you do that to me? I can barely move!" Lia whines, panting heavily as she leans against me in the bathtub. I quietly chuckle, circling my arms around her small body and just relish the closeness.

"That's why you shouldn't provoke me. Who told you to tease me?" I playfully nip at her ear.

"I won't make the same mistake again, that's for sure. Never underestimate man's ego." My kitten sighs, pressing a kiss to my bare chest.

"We should probably get out, you'll catch a cold." I stroke Lia's wet hair.

"Okay."

We leave the bathroom after quickly dressing up. It's really a challenge to get Lia to wear something else than my clothes at my house and not make her suspicious. But I somehow manage to do that, having to pretty much bribe her.

We walk to the kitchen, where we're met by mom checking on the duck in the oven.

"OH! You scared me!" Mom exclaims when she notices us. "So it was you that made dinner, huh?" She teases before pulling us into hugs.

"Hi Sam." "Hi mom"

"You could've called! – mom slaps my arm – I didn't even do any shopping!" I can see mom's about to freak out, so I decide to calm her down.

"We stopped by a grocery store on the way, so no need to worry."

"Couldn't just come here empty-handed could we?" Lia adds with a wink, knowing how my mom is.

"I adore you." Mom grins at my girl with pure adoration.

"Should I be jealous?" I mock, seeing how much mom likes my girl.

"Oh please! You're just like your father. Overdramatic." Mom groans jokingly, nudging my shoulder before going back to the food.

"I'll go set the table." I inform then leave mom and Lia alone.

"Thank you honey." Mom calls out after me.

"So, what's the occasion? You're all dressed up..." Dad speaks after we're done eating, giving me a suspicious look.

"Well, tomorrow's Valentine's Day and for the first time I have someone to spend it with. Someone I love. – I turn to Lia as I talk – Someone... I want to spend the rest of my life with." I finish quietly before getting off the chair and kneeling beside Lia as she watches me completely speechless.

"Lia, I love you like I never loved anyone. I know I'm only 18 and there's still a lot that awaits us, but if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that you're the only one for me. It'll always be you." I confess, taking the red velvet box from my pocket, presenting the ring I bought 6 months ago in Chicago. I've already asked Tyson for Lia's hand when I was staying with him and he agreed, much to my surprise. Now all that's left is my girl's answer.

"Blake..." Lia breathes out with watery eyes.

"Will you marry me, kitten?"
