《My Brother's Best Friend》Chapter 15

Later that day when Hunter got home I avoided him as much as I could. I didn't want to face the fact that he could have slept with Rebecca, nor did I want to assume anything.
All I knew was that I heard a girls voice through the phone and he had stayed the night with her. It could have been someone else I couldn't make assumptions.
As I was doing my makeup and avoiding admitting the truth to myself about Hunter, there was a knock on my door.
"Hey, kiddo." My dad says opening the door and stepping in. "I got called into work but I left dinner on the stove so tell Hunter to heat it up."
I finish applying mascara and put it down as I walk over to give him a hug. "Thanks, have a good night."
"Have Hunter call me if you guys are staying over at Jax's after the party." He says, pulling away and walking towards the door.
Hunter wasn't going to let Jax go alone with me to Kevin's dad's party. Even though it wasn't going to be anything crazy he said he wanted to make sure Jax wouldn't leave me alone.
We all knew Jax wouldn't do that which raised curiosity as to why Hunter wouldn't let us go alone.
"I will." I say.
As he walks out of my room I walk over to my closet and take out the dress I had picked out to wear for tonight. Kevin had texted me last night reminding me that we needed to dress up fancy.
Slipping out of my clothes, I unzip the red silky dress and step into it. The dress had a slit on the side, exposing one of my legs more than the other.

"Fuck me." I sigh in frustration. Struggling to zip the dress all the way up I drop my arms to my side.
"Hunter!" I yell. "Hunter, I need help with my dress!"
Sighing, I drag my feet on the carpet and stare at my reflection in the mirror. I had done my makeup a lot darker than I normally do, creating a smokey eye. My lips were a dark rose color and my hair hung loosely around my shoulders.
I had hoped Alex could be my date but he was working late tonight. His dad got him a job at the company where he worked at so it wasn't always easy for him to slip away.
As I continued to stare at myself in the mirror, I noticed Jax's reflection appear behind me.
Turning around, my eyes roam his body admiring how good he looked in a suit.
I look up at him in hopes that he didn't catch me staring at him but his eyes were busy roaming my body. His lips were parted almost as if he was trying to catch his breath.
"You have something here," I point to Jax's mouth, snapping him back into reality. He wipes his mouth and looks at his hands. "It's drool, buddy."
Rolling his eyes, he walks over to me. "As if."
I smirk, trying to hide my amusement. "Where's Hunter?"
Jax steps closer to me and puts his hands on my shoulders turning my body to face the mirror. Gulping, I ignore the goosebumps that leave a trail down my spine from his touch.
"He's getting ready." His breath hit my skin making me shiver.
I move away from him and turn back. "I think I can zip it myself."
He rolls his eyes. "Don't be stupid. Turn around."

Hesitating, I turn back around and watch as Jax slowly zips up the rest of my dress. When he doesn't make an effort to move I stare at him from the mirror and watch as his eyes meet mine.
When his hands don't leave my waist I place my shaky hands over his. Without a second thought I move his hands away from me and begin to pull away.
In a swift motion I am turned around and face to face with Jax.
"What are you doing?" I say, my voice coming out in a low voice.
My heart begins to pound against my chest as my breathing starts coming out heavy. I was sure he could practically see my heart beating through my chest.
Jax grabs my waist and pulls me even closer to him, his eyes never leaving my lips. I could feel his breath against my lips and if either of us moved any closer we'd be kissing.
"Jax," I let out. "We can't."
"I know." He places his forehead against mine and moves his hands to cup my cheeks.
"I'm sorry." Pulling away from me, he turns around and walks out without hesitating to look back.

Falling for a Star (Complete)
I had never paid much attention to celebrity gossip or what was going on in Hollywood because that was so far from the lifestyle I lived as a poor college student, working as a barista to save up for my own house after graduation. But then, without my knowledge, my Dad submitted my name into a talk show sweepstakes to win a week with Hollywood superstar Dylan Chase, to see what it's like to live like a celebrity for a week. My Dad thought it would be the perfect chance for me to get out of Iowa, see the world and have an adventure for once. I was dreading leaving home, flying for the first time and going by myself all the way to L.A. Plus the idea of spending a week with an arrogant, rich, snobby actor that was probably the worst kind of womanizer didn't sound like my idea of fun. What I found when I got there and met Dylan was the total opposite; a man that was humble, hard working, easy to talk to, and down to earth. Spending a week in Paradise in the guest house of Dylan Chase's Malibu mansion right on the beach, attending a movie premiere on his arm, shopping on Rodeo Drive and eating at five star restaurants was like a dream come true, but sleeping in his bed and falling for a guy from a completely different world than me was never part of the plan because we could never end up together. The Insemination
"You where going to do what?" he shouts causing me to jump a bit. I look at his face and see anger on it. "I said I was thinking about it. I changed my mind," I rush to say. "I'm sorry." As he runs a hand through his hair he picks up the glass vase and throws it against the wall. Rushing past him, I hurry to the door. Once my hand is on the silver doorknob I pull it open only to have it closed. Turning around I meet his gaze. His normal blue eyes are now black with a hint of gold. "I think I should go," I say barely as a whisper. "Mine," he growls. "Yes, I know it's yours but-," I say but he cuts me off again. "Mine," he growls again. Before I have the chance to ask him what he meant, he hovers over my body, and before I have the chance to move, I feel sharp teeth penetrate my skin. Kicking and screaming, I try to move out of his grasp. Yelping out in pain, he finally takes his teeth out, and looks at me with his blue eyes. He looks at me in horror. "What did you do to me?"
