《My Brother's Best Friend》Chapter 11

Today was the first day of school and my anxiety was through the roof. I couldn't decide what to wear or what to do with my hair. I had twenty minutes to get ready before Jax would come and pick Hunter and I up.
I was going to pick out an outfit for today and have everything ready but I fell asleep talking on the phone with Alex last night. He started his Junior year at East High tomorrow, giving him an extra day of vacation.
"Emma, are you ready?!" Hunter yells from downstairs. "Jax is almost here!"
"No, I need more time!" I shout back. Groaning in frustration, I grab the first pair of black shorts I see and spend an extra minute looking for a shirt. Deciding on a red t-shirt, I tie my hair up into a messy bun.
"All this stress for this stupid outfit." I mumble to myself.
After slipping on my shoes I quickly applied on mascara and put on my hoops. I heard two honks outside meaning Jax had arrived. I grabbed my phone and my school bag before leaving my room and running down the stairs.
"Bye, dad." I say, walking into the kitchen and seeing him sip on his cup of coffee.
"Wait, aren't you going to eat something before you leave?" He says, putting down his coffee. "I can make you a sandwich."
"It's fine, Jax is already here. You know how much he hates waiting." I walk over to him and give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Have a good day." He says.
"You too." I say. Leaving the kitchen and entering the living room I see Hunter on his phone waiting by the door. Aside from his busted lip, the bruising on his eyebrow had gone down.

"Ready?" I say, grabbing his attention.
"Lets go." He opens the door and I follow, closing the door behind me.
We walk towards Jax's car and Hunter as always gets in the front and I make my way into the backseat.
"So, how bad did you get your ass beat?" I joke, looking at Jax through the review mirror. He had glasses on so I couldn't see his eyes and I didn't get to see his whole face through the mirror.
He turns his body around in the seat, facing me. "Even fucked up I look sexy." He took off his glasses.
I gasped. "Holy fuck. Do you not know how to fight?"
I know kinda a shitty chapter but I wanted to give you guys something. I've had such a stressful couple of weeks but I will try to upload more.

Tempest & Temptation
"--Very well." He exhaled sharply, loosening his shirt and tie with a prompt tug. "Since you don't believe me." He slid his uniform's necktie and slipped off his suit jacket. Her eyes went wide. “What are you doing?!” “Undressing. Is that not apparent?” He started unbuttoning his undershirt.
