《My Brother's Best Friend》Chapter 7

There were three days left of vacation before I would be going back to school as a Junior. Hunter and Jax would be starting their senior year, meaning it was my last year with them. I was kind of glad knowing I wouldn't have them to be around next year.
As much freedom I had to do what I wanted, Jax and Hunter made sure no guys in school would come near me. They were both on the basketball team and every time one of their teammates even looked at me they made sure to make them back off.
That was mainly why I hadn't gotten a boyfriend until Alex. My first kiss was in sixth grade with seventh grader Emmanuel Michaels. When Jax found out he punched him in the face followed by Hunter harassing him to stay away from me. Since then, I made sure to avoid boys until they graduated.
I met Alex through Nick. They go to the same school and have been friends forever. He introduced us at a party and next month will be our one year anniversary.
When I told Hunter and Jax about Alex they completely went off. They found out where he lived and threatened him to stay away from me. It took 4 months to finally show him some kind of acceptance into my life.
I stood from my doorway watching Alex pull into my driveway. My insides were jelly like as he got out of his car and ran up the stairs.
Without a word, he took me into his arms, lifting me off the ground. I took a minute to process this as all thoughts of Jax left my mind. A smile formed on my lips as he pulled away and smashed his lips on mine.
"I missed you." I say, pulling away to look at him. The sun was hitting his face perfectly as his eyes shined a bright chocolate brown.

"I miss you too," He smiles as he let's go of me and kisses me one more time. "Where's your brother?"
"In his room with Jax." I say, ignoring the way my heart skipped a beat as his name left my mouth.
"Is it okay if I come in, or are they gonna punch me again?" He chuckles nervously.
The first time I invited Alex in Jax punched him in the mouth followed by Hunter shoving him and making him leave. He hasn't been back since. Normally I go over his house or we go out but since that happened he's too scared to come back.
"It's fine, I talked to them before you came and I told them to stay in Hunter's room. If they come out they both do my laundry for two weeks." I said.
"How did you get them to even listen to you?" He raises an eyebrow.
"My dad." I smile.
"Is he home?" He smirks.
"Nope." I say, biting my lip.
"Mhmm, interesting."
