"sei un idiota"

I send a glare at Nathalia as she rubs her temples with her elbows on her knees.

"What have I raised?" My mother adds with a sigh.

"You're not my son." My father says with disappointment.

I had just about to propose to Lila in the backyard by the gardens when Nathalia and my mother interrupted us, much to my despise.

"You guys interrupted us. I was about to-"

"I know what you were about to do-"

"Then why did you interrupt-"

"ENZO RAMON BARACHI, interrompimi ancora una volta." My mother yells.

My fathers eyes widen slightly and coughs while Nathalia looks the other way with her hands at her hips.

I let out a sigh.

"Good. Now, I know you were about to propose but of all places you really think in your backyard is the best idea?" She asks dumbfounded.

I contemplate it briefly over my head. I guess I never even realized how that wouldn't have been the most romantic.

"Good to see you have some brain cells left. Now think, what if you proposed her at the beach. She loves it there." My mom suggests.

I nod, "It's where her parents always brought her when she was younger. She always loved the ocean."

All of a sudden the doors to my office burst open and Damon and Zion waltzes in. Damon scans the room before sending a glare my way and stomping over to me like a child.

"What." I grit out in annoyance.

"What? I'll tell you what. You was about to propose to my best friend, and sister, without even asking for MY CONSENT?" He yells.

"You aren't her brother." I say.

"I don't like your attitude." He shoots back as he crosses his arms.

If he hadn't been my best friend I would've fucking killed him for even slamming my doors open.

"Whose with her?" I ask, slightly getting ansty without knowing if she has someone with her.

"Lance, chill bruh." Damon flicks his fingers.

"I don't even know how she deals with you." Zion retorts as he kisses Nathalia on her temple.

I let out a groan of frustration before getting up and grabbing my coat.

"Where are you going?" Nathalia asks.

"To someone whose worth my time." I say sharply as I exit my office and hearing a chorus of 'aw'

I shake my head at the idiots I call family and make my way towards a certain hazel eyed girl.

I walk out the backyard from where we came from only to see her not there. I start to feel a familiar feeling bubbling in me as I search through all the rooms downstairs and frantically rush outside the front door.

My heart beat faster at the sigh of her.

She's wearing a long sundress with flowers placed in her hair. Her black hair has grown much longer from before and now flows down to her hips.

She runs across the front yard as she collects more dandelions and carefully places them in her right hand.

The sun gleams across her proclaim skin as her dress flows with the wind.

Lance follows behind her, helping her collect more small flowers.

Just as she lifts her head up, her eyes make contact with mine and she smiles so wide I can't help but reciprocate.

As if seeing my smile brought her the best joy, she giggles as she runs up to me.

I open my arms as she jumps into them, wrapping her long legs around my waist and cupping my cheeks.

"Hiii." She whispers shyly.

Cute.

"Hi." I reply as I place a soft kiss on her lips.

"What were you going to tell me before we got interrupted?" She asks as her eyebrows furrow.

"I wanted to ask if you would want to come to the beach with me?" I lie, hoping she doesn't see through my lie. She seemed to be the only one who knew how to do that.

She smiles and nods eagerly as she hops out of my arms and drags me towards one of our cars.

I laugh at her excitement and grab the keys.

I open the door for her before getting in on my side.

I turn the ignition on and pull out of the driveway and place a hand on her thigh.

She squirms slightly and I smirk at her reactions.

"Could we get ice cream after?" She asks as she entangled our fingers.

"Whatever you want amore." I reply as I bring our hands up to my mouth and place a feather like kiss on her knuckles.

After another 20 minutes I pull into the parking lot just as the sun was setting.

I get out of the car and open Lila's side to help her out. She intertwines our fingers together and swings them as we walk down the path and onto the sand.

Lila let's out a sigh of relief as we approach the edge of where the water was meeting the sand.

"It's so pretty." She says in awe as she look out the ocean.

The hues of orange and red gleam onto her face causing her Hazel eyes to appear almost gold.

"Yea, it is." I whisper as she turns her head and catches me staring at her.

Her cheeks go slightly pink as she kicks the water flowing at our feet.

"Why'd you wanna come out here?" She asks as she edges closer to the water.

Her sundress flowing freely behind her and her hair becoming frenzied from the wind.

I go up behind her and wrap my arms around her small frame, pulling her against my chest before resting my chin on her shoulder.

We stand like that for a while, watching the sunset and children and other people gathering their things to leave.

"I'm not good at romance." I start.

Lila turns slightly and eyes me curiously.

I let out a sigh as I pull away from her, my hands drift from her waist to her hands.

"I didn't even believe in love."

"Enzo, you're scaring me. What's going on?" She asks, concern lacing her voice.

I look up from her hands and into her eyes that always seemed to put me at peace.

I give her a small smile before cupping her cheek and flicking a strand of hair away from her eyes.

"Marry me." The words tumble out of me.

Her eyes widen in shock.

"I'm doing this all wrong. Hell, everyone was on my ass about it. I was going to ask you before, at the garden." I tighten my grip on her hands.

"You stuck with me Lila. Everytime, through everything. Even knowing the kind of monster I am. I've done so many things you can't even fathom yet you stayed. I don't know how you do it, stay with someone as dark as me but still keep this light around you." I pause, scanning her face.

Her eyes are glistening with unshed tears. Her lips parted as her breath hitches.

"You keep me alive amore. I use to be so angry all the time. But then you came and you are so fucking addicting. You're the only light in my darkness. I want you to always be my light."

I step closer to her, taking out the ring I had in my pocket.

"Be my light forever." I finish.

A moment of silence passes between us before she breaks out into sobs. Her shoulders roll and she gasps.

My heart clenches and I feel a truck hit me at full force.

"Amore, is this a yes or a no?" I ask, hearing my own fear.

"Yes, Of course! Yes! All the flipping yesses Enzo." She chokes out as she jumps into my arms and cries into my shoulder.

My shoulder relax immediately in relief as I pull her closer and kiss her neck.

"Give me your hand amore." I say softly as she pulls away from me and offers me her hand.

"Why?" She asks.

"The ring." I say with a chuckle as I slip the ring onto her finger.

It was perfect.

She's perfect.

And she's all mine.
