I am back with the last POV of Ermanno in the book...

🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂

I massaged the back of my neck to release the knots, as I leaned back on my chair. I was exhausted. Last few days were very hectic.

After nonno’s sudden death, all of his responsibilities came upon my shoulders along with my own and I was struggling to manage them as best as I could. And on top of that, I was trying to catch that Luca Martinez.

He had crossed all the boundaries that time. He had killed my nonno. He took away the only family I had. He must not had dared to do that. And I sure as hell, was going to make him pay for it.

It had been a fortnight since nonno had left me, but the pain was still fresh in my heart. His departure had left a hole in my chest, which was impossible for anyone to fill it. No one was capable of filling his void in my life.

Apart from being my nonno, he was also my mother and father. He took care of me when Cesare Martinez took away my parents from me. He had taught me everything I knew and made me capable enough to stand on my feet, made me what I was. He was my role model.

And on top of the pain of his departure, there was a constant guilt gnawing my senses. I hated myself for arguing with him in his last moments. It was adding fuel to my pain. I didn’t regret an ounce for supporting my Rosa. I trusted her that she was innocent and someone had tried to frame her.

I regretted that I could have discussed the matter with nonno, calmly. I regret not getting a chance to prove Rosa’s innocence to him. I regret not getting a chance to patch things up with him. And what hurt me more was that I would never get a chance to do all of that. His last memory of his eyes filled with disappointment for me was going to haunt me, all my life.

And it was all because of that Luca Martinez!

The Martinez had took away all my family from me. I had no one to call mine except for my Rosa. I only had her to call ‘mine’ and I would be doomed if I let any harm come to her.

Not her!

Not my Rosa!

I was doing everything in my power to catch him so that I didn’t loose the only precious thing I had left. I had to catch him at any cost, before he destroyed the only good thing left in my life. I won’t be able to survive if anything happened to her.

Due to all that mess, I was not able to give my time to her. I knew that she wanted to be with me in my difficult time and wished to share my pain, but catching my enemy was my topmost priority at the moment.

After that, we can spend our lives peacefully, without him hanging over our head all the time as a constant threat.

Infact, the first thing I had decided to do after the chapter of Luca Martinez was over, was to confess my love for my Rosa and marry her.

With the type of profession I was in, there was a constant threat to my life. And I didn’t want to die without sharing my feelings for her.

I was interrupted from my thinking by the sudden blaring of my phone. I looked at the caller id to find it was from one of my guards at the front gate.

They were strictly ordered by me not to permit anyone in or out without asking me. I didn’t want to take any risk, so I was doing everything I could, to be on the safe side.

I picked up the call, but before I could speak anything, he cut me off, “Sir. Rosalia Ma’am has left the mansion.”

Rosa had gone out?

Why?

And why didn’t she tell me anything about it?

She knew that it was dangerous outside. So, why did she do that?

I asked him harshly, “What do you mean by she left the mansion? Where did she go? And why didn’t you ask me before letting her go.”

“I am sorry, Sir. But she had threatened us with her title of the queen and also you had strictly ordered us not to defy her orders. You even told us to obey her over you,” he answered me, meekly.

I growled at him, “But that didn’t mean jeopardising her safety, idiota (you idiot). Which driver went with her?”

I couldn’t control the worry I was feeling for her. I was panicking from the inside.

He replied with hesitation clear in his tone, “Actually, she didn’t take the car with her. She went on her own.”

My anger reached it’s peak. She was out there, all alone. What if something happened to her?

No! I shouldn’t think like that!

I yelled at him, “I will deal with you later.”

I cut the call and immediately left my office after grabbing my car keys from the table.

I was worried beyond imagination. Infact, I was freaking out from the inside. Why did she go outside? And that too without any security or the car? Where would have she gone? Where do I search for her?

My heart was thumping in my chest and I didn’t knew what to do. I accidentally bumped into Adele on my way, who happened to be coming from the opposite direction.

On seeing me she hurriedly exclaimed, “Oh, Ermanno! I am so glad that I have found you here only. I have to tell you something important.”

I dismissed her moving forward, while speaking on my way, “Not now, Adele. I have something urgent to do.”

But her next words halted my steps, “But it is about Lia!”

I abruptly turned around and asked her, “You know where is she?”

She frantically nodded her head and spoke, “Yes!”

My heartbeat sped up and I hurriedly asked her, “Where?”

“Actually, she ran away with her boyfriend, Albert,” she told me solemnly.

She ran away?!

With Albert?

But she had told me that she didn’t had any feelings for him. Then why? Why did she lie to me? Why did she betray me?

I asked her suspiciously, “How do you know about it?”

She revealed, “I had heard her talking about it on the phone. I tried to stop her, but she was quick to trick me and run away from there. So, I decided to tell you about it.”

Clenching my jaw, I asked her, “Do you know where she has escaped to?”

She nodded hurriedly, “Yes! Currently, they are at the Blue Star Hotel.”

I began making my way to there, when she interrupted me, “Stop! I will also come with you.”

“No, it is dangerous. I can’t put your life at risk,” I denied her.

“Please, Ermanno. She is my friend, and so are you. I don’t want you to hurt her in your rage,” she pleaded me.

I sighed, “Alright.”

After we reached the hotel, I made my way to the reception desk. Adele quietly followed behind me. Everyone knew me, so no one dared to question me.

Upon reaching the front desk, I asked the woman in her late 20’s, “Is there a room under the name of Rosalia Romanno or anyone named Albert. I don’t his last name.”

She hurriedly checked in her computer and informed me, “Yes, sir. Miss Rosalia Romanno is in room no. 1406 and Mr. Albert Fernandez is in room no. 1405.”

“Give me the spare keys of those rooms,” I ordered her.

She hurriedly took them out from inside the desk drawer and handed it to me, petrified and told me the way.

Who wouldn’t be scared of me? My name was enough! And it must not had helped seeing the murderous expression on my face.

As soon as I got hold of the keys, I marched towards the rooms. Adele was silently following me all the way without uttering a single word.

As soon as I reached the room booked under the name of Rosalia Romanno, I inserted the key in the keyhole and twisted it, not at all bothering to knock.

Opening the lock, I opened the door and barged inside. But the very next moment, someone hit me with a very heavy object at the back of my head, and I slipped into darkness.

Hello my lovely readers!

How was the chapter?

Adele lied to Ermanno! But why?

What do you think her motive is behind all this?

Is she with Luca Martinez?

And what do you think will Ermanno do? Will his trust on his Rosa break?
