And coming to the chapter, today Ermanno is going to reveal about the villain of the story, Luca Martinez. So, buckle yourselves up as the rollercoaster starts from this chapter!!! 😸😸🙀🙀

🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂

I was sitting next to Ermanno on the floor in his parents’ room. We were leaning our backs against the bed. There was complete silence, except for the sound of our breaths.

After the incident in the rose garden, he had taken me there. His parents’ room was on the next floor to ours. I had not visited that floor till then. It was my first time.

I was confused at first when he had brought me there. I asked him repeatedly, where he was taking me. But instead of telling me what I wanted to know, he told me that he was taking me to a place close to his heart and he would tell me everything there itself.

That shut my mouth. I knew that he was going to reveal his history with that Luca Martinez. He already seemed tensed, so I did not bug him anymore. Although, I was nervous from the inside.

But it did nothing to sabotage the happiness I was feeling. My heart felt like flying and there was a tingling sensation all over my body. Ermanno had taken my stand. He trusted me even after his nonno had told him that he had proofs against me. He fought for me.

I was truly lucky to have him as my life partner. And I would try my best to maintain his trust on me. I loved him too much to risk about letting him go. I just couldn’t even think my life without him.

I desperately wished for my grandpa to be alive so that I could thank him for arranging my marriage to him. What I thought was a selfish decision on his part, turned out to be the best decision of my life.

Thank you, grandpa!

He opened the door of a room and spoke, “This room belonged to my parents.”

His hypnotizing orbs clearly reflected his nostalgic emotions. It clearly showed how much he loved them and missed them. It was visible, in how much pain he was!

He sat down and made me sit, next to him. He was silent since then, and I didn’t interrupt him. I understood that it was a sensitive topic for him and he was gathering his emotions. I simply sat there next to him, to reflect that I was there for him, always

After what seemed like a long time, he spoke, “I was three when my parents were murdered. I was deprived of their love for the hunger of power. I didn’t even understood why they were so mercilessly snatched away from me? What wrong did I do to deserve all that? What was my fault in all that?”

He looked at me painfully, with tears shining in his green-blue eyes. It clenched my heart to see him so broken; so vulnerable. His eyes were conveying his emotions to me. I desperately wanted to take away every pain from him and fill his life with happiness.

Behind that cold, ruthless Mafia man, there was a small, lost child who was deprived of his parents’ love, at such a young age when he was still at the age of learning things. I could see the broken man beyond his strong facade. My heart went out for him, as a tear rolled down my cheeks.

He took a deep breath and continued, “They had gone to a party that night, leaving me in the care of Francesca. Many families belonging to the Mafia had come there and my father was not ready to expose me to them yet. He was being cautious because it was not uncommon in the underworld to use your loved ones as a bait. So, he was trying to keep me safe.”

He clenched his jaw and gazed at the wall behind me, “Because one thing is clear in this world, you must never trust anyone blindly here. Enemies are always camouflaged here in the form of friends. And he was the King in the Mafia world, which title is passed down to me. So, many people were jealous of him and wanted to snatch that title from him. He had many enemies, some open, while some in disguise. And there was one, who pretended to be his closest friend. Papà never trusted anyone blindly ever but he didn’t doubted that man ever too. He had played his role so well, afterall. Married to my father’s sister.”

“Cesare Martinez,” he spat the name as if taking his name was a venom on his tongue in itself.

His eyes were filled with fire of hatred and revenge. He looked into my eyes and spoke, “He was the father of Luca Martinez.”

I sucked in a sharp breath.

So, Luca Martinez was his cousin?!

He nodded, “Unfortunately, yes! He is my cousin. My aunt’s son.”

I guess that I spoke my thought aloud!

“Cesare had been torturing my aunt, abusing her physically as well as verbally, right after the marriage. But he had threatened her with her family’s life, against opening her mouth. And after that Luca was born, he got more leverage on her. Cesare began dreaming of becoming the king, wishing nonno to pass down his title to him,” he disclosed.

He further continued, “But nonno was smart enough. He had his suspicions on him since a very long time and was investigating him in secret. He passed down his title to papà, instead of him. It made Cesare furious. Afterall, he had married aunt for the same reason. So, he decided to kill them. He thought that no one would be suspicious of him and he could fulfill his dreams easily.”

As he spoke the next words, his handsome features contorted into intense agony, “On the night of the party, he had ordered one of his men to fail the break of their car stealthily. When my parents’ were returning from there, he succeeded in his plans. And it resulted in the death of my parents.”

Tears left the confines of his eyes and rolled down his cheeks. My heart went out for him. But I knew that there was nothing I could do to lessen his pain. The loss was too much to compensated ever.

After a few minutes, he took several deep breaths to reign his emotions. He wiped away his tears by rubbing his face with his palms and his face was devoid of any emotion. But his eyes clearly reflected his inner turmoil. They didn’t hide anything from me. My heart was aching at the sight.

He began, “When nonno got to know about Cesare’s hand behind it, he was furious. He immediately left for his place to kill him and bring aunt and Luca back to our mansion. But somehow, he got the whiff of it and fled from there. But not before murdering my aunt in the cold blood.”

I was shocked at his revelation.

He killed his own wife?!

Was he a psycho? How could one be so heartless?

He interrupted my chain of thoughts, “When nonno reached there, he found her dead body strangled, lying in front of his porch. On investigating from the staff, he was informed about his abuse on her.”

“Nonno searched him continuously until he found that piece of shit in New York, trying to gather men and form a gang against nonno to defeat him. Nonno killed each one of them on the spot. He wanted to bring Luca to our mansion, but although being of 6 at that time, he refused to come with him. In fact, he was against him for killing his father. He was totally brainwashed by his mean father,” he said clenching his jaw. His eyes were lit with fury.

“Nonno didn’t force him, nor did he harm him, thinking he was his only daughter’s only child; her last memory. Her

loved aunt more than anything else in this world,” he further revealed.

He continued in a menacing tone, “But I guess that was a grave mistake on his part, because he turned to be our biggest rival of all time. He is following the footsteps of his father and wants to kill me to get that title. And also, he wants to take revenge from us for killing Cesare.”

The information was too much to take in. Luca turned out to be his own cousin! His father killed his parents?!

I was reeling from the shock after knowing the truth, when we were interrupted by the ringing of his phone.

He received it only to freeze in shock. The phone slipped from his grasp as he stared forward, with pain and shock written all over his features. I immediately went to him and shook him and asked, “Ermanno. What happened? Who was there? Please tell me. You are scaring me.”

He whispered, “Someone had planted a bomb in nonno’s car. He is no more.”

🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂

Alessandro is no more! He is murdered! Ermanno again lost someone close to him. How will he cope up with this lose?
