Alessandro rushed inside towards him. I got up from my sitting position, next to him and he took my place.

He looked at Ermanno worriedly, while the nipote seemed to be a little bit uncomfortable, seeing his nonno.

Alessandro asked him, "How are you, nipote?"

(Grandson)

Sighing, he said, "I am fine, nonno. There is nothing to worry about. By the way, how did you get to know about it?" He narrowed his eyes in the end.

He scoffed in reply, "I have my sources. What did you think? That you would hide such a big news from me?"

"I just didn't want to worry you, nonno," Ermanno replied.

"Ofcourse I would be worried. I may be known for being cruel, but you know that I love you. You are my own blood; my only family," he fiercely told him.

Ermanno nodded at him in reply. Alessandro turned his attention towards me and spoke, "How are you doing, young lady?"

"I...I am fi...fine," I nervously answered him.

I felt a little intimidated by him after his outburst.

Nodding, he remarked, "I see, you are taking good care of my nipote."

I stole a quick glance in Ermanno's direction, who was already looking at me with a small smile playing on his lips. Then, I lowered my gaze to my feet, fidgeting with my fingers, nervously.

Alessandro again spoke, "Mind making a cup of black coffee for me. I skipped it in the morning."

I hurriedly nodded at him and left the room to follow his demand. But on my way, I heard the fleeting voice of Alessandro speaking to Ermanno, "Now, tell me in detail, how were you attacked? And why did you return back to Italy when you had gone to catch Luca in New York?"

Although, I was curious to know the answer, I didn't stop to hear his reply. I didn't want to get caught by them while eavesdropping. Who knew that they might take me as a traitor? Plus, last time when I was curious, I had landed myself into that dreaded basement. It was a lesson enough for me to last a lifetime!

I made the coffee and took it to Ermanno's room. Upon entering, I noticed that both of them had a serious expression on their faces as if, they had been discussing something really important before my arrival. But they were quick to mask it when they saw me entering the room and tried to act nonchalant

What were they discussing?

I gave the coffee to Alessandro, who took it with a small smile. I felt like an intruder there, so I turned to leave so that they could discuss freely whatever they wanted to. It was clear that Alessandro had sent me to make coffee as an excuse, so that he could talk to Ermanno in private.

But Alessandro stopped me, "You don't need to go. I am leaving now. I will also order Ricci to get to the task immediately."

He spoke the last line looking into Ermanno's eyes. It was clear that a secret message was exchanged between the two; probably about that Luca guy, who had attacked Ermanno; and seemed to be his biggest rival at the moment.

Alessandro kept the cup on the side table and walked away, but not before saying to me, "The coffee was good, Rosalia. I will definitely come back for it."

I nodded at him in reply.

Ermanno also began making efforts to get up. I rushed to his side and worriedly asked, "Do you need anything? Please don't move too much. It is not good for your stitches."

He told me, "Actually, I am going to my office. I have some urgent work."

I objected him immediately, "No! You are not going anywhere. You are adviced for a complete bedrest and you are going to do just that only."

He rose his eyebrows at me in amusement and spoke, "I am fine, Rosa. You are fussing without any reason."

"I am fussing?! You almost died last night for crying out loud! I won't let you go anywhere," furrowing my eyebrows at him, I spoke.

Chuckling at me, he spoke, "I have some urgent work. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare to go against you, amore mio."

(My love)

I huffed at his stubbornness and spoke, "Why are you not understanding? Work can wait. Nothing is more important than your health. And what did you say in Italian? I didn't get it."

I thought that I should learn the language, so that it would be easier for me to understand what he spoke. I also liked the accent.

He observed me keenly with a small smile playing on his lips and sat down on the bed.

"Alright, I won't go. But you will have to give me a company all day. What say?" he replied to me, ignoring the Italian part.

I guess I could do that. I didn't had anything to do except getting bored, so why not I use some of his company. Also, the idea was clearly approved by my heart. So, I agreed to him, "Okay"

"So, what are we gonna do?" he asked me, raising his perfect eyebrows.

I shrugged at him, "We can watch movies."

He made a face at that.

What was with him, making faces?

I asked him, "Do you have anything better to do?"

He sighed defeated, "I guess I can watch some movies."

I sighed for the umpteenth time while looking at the screen. The idea of watching a movie had backfired me.

Currently, we both were sitting on his bed, watching the movie on his television, fixed on the wall in front of us. We had done our lunch in his room only.

A bug bucket of popcorn was wedged in between us along with fresh orange juice. I didn’t choose any soft drink or greasy item because it was not good for his injury.

Clearly ermanno had chosen an action movie to watch while I had no interest in the genre. I wanted to watch a rom-com, but he gave me a horrified expression, when I told him that. As if I had told him that all his hair had suddenly turned pink. Nonetheless, it was really a hilarious sight.

Ermanno had told me that he could only watch a movie if it had some actions into it. According to him, all those rom-com were too stupid and crying worthy. So unwillingly, I had to agree to his choice. I didn’t want him to get bored and start insisting to go to work again.

It was not a secret how stubborn he could be!

I guess that he had drilled his profession thoroughly into his mind and heart. I sighed again and glanced at him. He was too much engrossed into the movie, staring at the screen, without blinking his eyes.

I looked at the screen to find an intense scene going on. I had enough of people trying to kill each other.

I loudly spoke, “I am getting bored here.”

But to my utter annoyance, he didn’t even glance at me. It irked me so I took the remote from the bed and switched off the television.

That caught his immediate attention. He turned to me wide-eyed and spoke with a panicked voice, “Why did you switched it off?! It was such a good scene! Please switch it on immediately.”

He forwarded his left hand in front of me, demanding for the remote. But I simply shook my head at him and spoke, “Nah! I am not gonna put that useless movie again. It is so boring and you are so engrossed into it that you are not even listening to me.”

“So, you are indirectly telling me that you are jealous of the movie because it is getting more attention than you?” he asked me raising his perfect eyebrows, looking clearly amused.

Obviously I denied him, “It is nothing like that. I am just getting bored and the movie is too awful. I just need to talk to somebody, that’s it!”

“Lie all you want, my Rosa. I can clearly see that you are craving for my attention,” he continued to tease me.

“I am not, you self-obsessed man!” I retorted him.

His laughter boomed throughout the confines of his room, while I just watched him, totally mesmerized by the sound of it. His eyes crinkled from the corner and his dimples were more prominent than ever.

The sight had captivated me completely and my eyes refused to blink in the fear of missing the scene, while my heart to tingled in my chest.

I knew at that moment that I was truly attracted to him.
