《Second Chance》Chapter 11: The cellar maid

I was curled in the corner in my little ball. I had shifted into my wolf and stayed int hat form to protect myself.

I heard clattering from the door and looked to see a small girl holding up a tray of food. She looked frightened and afraid.

"P-Pleas shift back ma-ma'am." She said timidly. She couldn't be any older than 16. I shifted back and hugged my knees to my chest to hide my nudity.

She placed the tray on the floor along with a bag of clothes. "You have a meeting with the master in an hour. I'm here to help you get ready."

I looked at the food and took it. I ate while she laid out the clothes and waited for me. Once I was done I got dressed and she escorted me up to where Ken was waiting for me.

I opened the door and stepped in with the cellar maid coming in behind me. "Ah, my dear little runaway," Ken said.

"What the hell do you want?" I snapped at him.

"You will be mine and submit to me. Apparently, I cannot make you mine unless you submit to me."

"Never, I would rather die," I growled.

"Well we can't have that but maybe I can make an exception." he nodded to the guards at the door and they came up and took the girl by surprise. She struggled against their harsh grip but failed to break free.

"I will tell you one more time love, submit or the girl will die." One of the guards took out a silver covered knife.

She quivered in fear and looked away and braced for her death.

"I-I," I stuttered out my words.

The guard brought it closer to her neck. "OK! I submit." I said in defeat, not baring the look of fear on the girl's face.

Ken nodded to the guard who took the knife and slit the girl's throat and threw her to the ground.

I tried to run to her but Ken grabbed my waist and held me against him. That will teach you to try to defy me ever again.

"How could you do that!? What if she had a mate? She was so young!" I screamed.

"Oh please, I killed her mate a long time ago. They were both weak little omegas."

I shuddered as his breath fanned my neck. He picked my limp body up and carried me to a room. "You will sleep here. In a weeks time, we will marry and mate. You will be mine Coralina. All mine."

He turned and walked out of the room locking the door behind him. I laid still on the bed and cried. I could still faintly feel my connection to Paxton. I summoned all my strength and tried to send him a mind link. I don't know if it worked, but I hope to god he could hear me.

Paxton's POV

I ran through the woods following a lead we had gotten from a captured rouge we had. Colton was running beside me. He came quickly the minute I told him about the lead.

Suddenly I felt my head spin. I stopped to focus and a message came through. It was faint but I could make out what it was.

"Paxton! Help! In a week, Ken is going to force me to mate and marry! HELP!"

I growled out and howled in rage. Looks like I have a wedding to crash.
