I woke up the next morning and smelled something wonderful. It was mix of coconut and beach. My wolf felt very excited and I hurried to get dressed.

I slipped out into the hallway and saw my brother walking my way.

"Hey Paxton just got back. Let's go say hi." Colton said. I nodded my head and we walked outside where the cars were parked and members of the pack had gone to greet their Alpha home.

The smell from earlier had gotten even more intense and my wolf purred with joy. Colton grabbed my wrist and pulled me through the crowd and again the smell became even more intoxicating.

I was sniffing everywhere trying to distinguish the smell. Yet, I couldn't find the source of it. My wolf barked 'MATE!' in my head.

I suddenly became scared. After everything that happened with Ken, I was terrified of having a mate.

Colton continued to drag me until we came face to face with Paxton. I froze as his head whipped around looking at me.

"MATE!" He growled. Everyone looked at me but the noise just went up as people talked about what just happened.

I panicked and ran. I shifted into my wolf and took off to the woods, leaving Paxton confused and angry and Colton just plain confused.

I just got into the woods when I was tackled to the forest ground by a bigger and scarier looking wolf. I sniffed the air and identified him as Paxton. My wolf was so excited and took over my actions and licked his snout.

His black eyes somehow darkened even more with lust. Other warriors came running with clothes in hand and he shifted and got off of me. He pulled on the clothes. "Shift, mo ghaol."

My heart fluttered as he called me "my love" in Scottish Gaelic. I shifted and was immediately handed clothes. He growled at the warriors who turned around to let me dress.

"Coralina, why did you run?" He asked sounding angry and hurt at the same time.

"I was scared. After everything that happened, I was afraid of getting hurt again."

His face softened. "Don't worry mo ghaol, I will protect you."

"Tapadh leibh mo choibhneil àlainn" (Translation: Thank you, my handsome mate)

He looked at me in surprise. "You know my native tongue?"

"Of course I studied it in school and my parents speak it."

He looked lovingly into my eyes and came close to me wrapping his arms around me. I took in his scent, savoring every breath of it.

Suddenly, I was picked up bridal style as he ran back to the pack. When we got there he flagged down one of the house workers. "Have all of Coralina's belongings transferred to my room." The worker nodded and rushed into pack hall.

I looked up at him and he smiled as he leaned down towards me. Just as his lips were about to touch mine, we got interrupted by Colton shoving me away from Paxton.

"WAIT A SECOND! You, Paxton, my alpha and best friend, are my little beloved sister's mate?" We both nodded and he shook his head. "Ok, A) Please no PDA. B) I would love to be an uncle but not until after the Luna ceremony. C) Hurt her, and I will make sure you won't be able to make pups."

We laughed and he stepped away and Paxton came over and picked me up, crashing his lips down on mine. It was hungry and passionate as we took each other in. He placed a hand around the back f my head and pulled me into him.

"I know we just met and all, but I already love you." He said when we pulled apart. I blushed and kissed him again in response.

He picked me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried me up to the room. He kicked open the door and rushed us inside not separating our mouths. He closed the door with his foot and I reached around him and locked it.

He wen tover to the bed and laid me down on the covers. He pulled away and took off my shoes and jacket. He took his own shoes off and pulled off his T-shirt. He got in bed and laid down next to me pulling me close to him.

He snuggles his head into the crook of my neck. "Mmmm. Your scent drives me wild, mo ghaol."

I moan as he kisses my neck and sucks the very spot where he is supposed too mark me after our mating and the Luna Ceremony.

"You have no idea how much it pains me not too mark you and show the world the amazing mate the Moon Goddess has given me." He murmured.

I turned my body and buried my head into his chest. "Paxton?"

"Yes."

"What ever did happen to Kendrick and the Stone Pack?" He leaned his head down and looked at me.

"Kendrick ran. He left his pack and ran, leaving a threatening note saying he would find you. However, no one takes away an Alpha's mate. It's nearly impossible to separate us, especially since our wolves began the union of the bond. I can already feel myself getting closer to you." He said drawing me even closer, if that's even possible, into him.

"So, he's on the loose?" I ask in a shaky voice.

"Yes, but don't you worry. He will have to go to hell and back in order to get to you." Paxton said.

I nodded and leaned against him. Soon my eyes drifted close as I began to fall asleep in the arms of my second chance to happiness. My true mate.
