"Willow?"

I turn around and smile at daddy. He smiles unsurely back at me. "What are you doing up so early?" He asked looking outside the window. "The sun's barely up."

He walks over to the coffee machine and grabs a red mug. He makes himself some coffee and looks back at me. "And what are you making?" He leans over my shoulder and looks at the chocolate cake mix in the bowl. He sticks his finger in the bowl and licks it. "That's okay," He said.

I bite back a smile and take out the cake pan. "I wanna make Daire a breakfast birthday cake before he leaves to spend the morning with Jeremiah," I said.

I pour the cake mix into the pan and smile at daddy.

"That's sweet of you honey," He said kissing my forehead. "Do you want me to come home early to help with Daire's party or something? Speaking of parties I don't remember you telling me your plans for his birthday. What are you doing?"

I smile and stick the cake in the oven. "It's a surprise," I say licking my fingers.

He arches his eyebrow at me and chuckles. "Okay, well I have to be at work in two more hours and I'll like to start on breakfast before I leave so if you'll excuse me," He said moving to the side. I giggle and jog to my bedroom.

I poke my head inside the room to ensure he's still asleep. I smile when I see he is. I giggle when I see he's naked and I blush remembering my early birthday gift to him last night. I walk over to my closet and pull out a small red box and a red envelope. I giggle to myself and place my gifts on the side table. I kiss Daire's forehead and quietly walk away.

I walk downstairs to see Carter and daddy laughing in the kitchen together.

"Goodmorning, Carter," I said giving him a hug from behind. He pats my arms and smiles at me. "Where's the birthday boy, I have a present for him," Carter said. I bite my lip and smile. "He's still asleep," I say bouncing on my toes.

"Dad told me you have a birthday surprise for him," Carter said drinking his coffee. I nod my head and look down. "It's going to be very special," I say playing with my shorts. Carter smiles at me and looks me over. "I really hope that's not what you're going to wear," He asked shaking his head at my clothes.

"Of course not," I said crossing my arms.

"I'm going out in public."

I walk into the kitchen and grab some oven mitts. I take out the cake and smell it. "Yummy," I said to myself. I place the cake on the counter and bite my lip. I grab some Icing that I made Levi buy me after I started craving it. I open it realizing I actually haven't eaten any of the vanilla Icing. I grab a wooden spoon and dig into the icing. I was about to spread the icing when someone grabs my wrist stopping me in my movements.

"What?" I asked. I look back at daddy who was looking at me like I was crazy. "You gotta take the cake out of the pan," He said placing the wooden spool on the table. My mouth shapes into an O. He chuckles and kisses my temple. He hits the back of the pan making the cake fall out of the pan.

I pick up the spoon and start spreading the icing on the cake.

I smile and grab some sprinkles and sprinkle them on the entire cake. Once I finish I grab the number candles and place them inside the cake. I step back to look at my work and giggle at it. It looked as if a 5 year decorated the cake. But I liked it.

"Daddy, can you come light the candles?" I yelled to daddy.

Daddy walks in and smiles at my work. "Looks nice, sweetheart," He said pulling out his lighter. I smile and grab the cake. I walk towards my room slowly with cake in my hands. I push the cake open with my foot.

I smile when I see Daire getting dressed in the middle of the room.

"Happy birthday to you," I sang. "Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Darry. Happy birthday to you." I smile broadly at Daire who stood shocked with his shirt in his hand. I laugh and place the cake on top of the drawer. "Did you get your birthday present," I asked biting my lip?

He walks over to me and grabs my waist. He leans over my shoulder and blows out his candles. He then kisses my lips. "Thank you, bud," He said leaning his forehead against mine. "Normally my birthdays consist of my mom yelling at me telling me I was a horrible mistake. Or spending the day with Alfred and Gravity to get away from my mom's heavy drinking and abuse. And since I met Jeremiah spending the morning with him to have our morning breakfast."

I rub his back and kiss his lips.

"Open my present, I have more but I wanted to give you this," I said stepping away from his embrace. I walk over to the side table and pick up the gift. I smile and hand it to him. He smiles at me and opens the box.

He smiles as he pulls the gift out of the box.

"Thank you, Willow," He said looking over the gift. He smiles and puts it around his neck. "I love it thank you," He said kissing my lips again.

"I didn't know what to get you so I got you that," I say playing with my nails. I look at my fingers and frown. "I need to get my nails done before your birthday surprise," I give him the envelope and take his hands. "Finished getting dressed, daddy has a surprise for you," I said kissing his knuckles and walking out the room.

I walk into the living room where daddy was fixing up his black button-down shirt. He smiles at me as I walk toward him. "Do you got his gift ready?" I asked daddy. He chuckles and nods his head. "Yep took me three weeks but I finally got it just in time." I clap my hands and hug daddy's waist. "Daire's gonna love it," I said. He strokes my messy hair and pushes me a little. "Go have some breakfast you're probably hungry," He said pushing me a little.

I walk into the kitchen where Levi and Carter were. Levi was on the phone in a deep conversation while Carter was brushing Cotton's fur as Cotton kept screeching at him. I smile and walk over to where the food was on the stove. I grab a plate and pile eggs on the plate. I didn't touch any meat since I started getting nausea from any type of meat.

I sit down in my pink cushion seat and dig into my breakfast.

When I was almost finished Daire walks in with thick cologne. His brown hair was slicked back with tons of grease. He was also wearing the necklace I gave him. He looks good today which isn't a surprise.

He walks over to the fridge and grabs some grapes. He kisses my cheek and rubs my stomach. "Good morning everyone," He said with a large smile on his face. "Today is going to be a wonderful day." He said.

Daddy walks into the room with something behind his back. "Happy birthday Daire," He said. "I have something for you," He said grabbing his shoulder and pulling him to his side. "As you know I have liked you since the day I met you. I see you as the rebellious son I never had. And most of us have grown to love you like family." He hugs Daire and Daire hugs him back. "Thank you, Graham, you don't know how much that means to me."

"And I need you to stop driving me and my son's car so here," He hands him a small black box.

Daire's eyes widen as he takes the box. He slowly opens it with trembling hands. He takes out a key and gasps. "You guys didn't," He said looking between us.

Daddy laughs and nods his head. "If you don't believe us go look outside," He said giving Daire a little push.

Daire's face lightens up. He grabs my hand and rushes us outside were his birthday gift was waiting for us.

"It's nice," He said looking at the car.

I squeeze his hand to get his attention. When he looks at me I see the tears in his eyes. I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him tight. "I hope those are happy tears," I mumble into his chest. He wraps his arms around my shoulders and squeezes me. "I have never been this happy in my life."

He kisses my head and walks towards the car. "Oh baby this is the best birthday gift ever," He said laying his head on the car. "Ugh, I just can't believe Graham did this for me," He said wiping his teary eyes.

He smiles at me and steps away from the car. He walks away from the car and towards me. He cups my cheeks and kisses my lips. I wrap my arms around his neck and deepen the kiss.

We only pull away from the kiss when we hear a car's horn. I smile when I see Jeremiah's car. He jumps out and runs over to Daire. "Birthday boy," He yells. He runs into Daire's open arms. They jump in down in each other's arms and laugh with each other. They let go of each other and do their bro handshake.

"Look," Daire said pointing to his new car.

Jeremiah's eyes widen and e squeezes Daire's shoulder. "Did Ms.Willow do this for you," He asked winking at me? Daire shrugs his shoulder and smiles broadly at me. "She and her dad got it for me," Daire said. "Let's go have our breakfast in my car today," Daire said waving his keys in front of Jeremiah's face. Jeremiah laughs and runs to the passenger seat.

Daire walks over to me and kisses my lips. "See you later, okay?" He said rubbing my stomach before kissing my head again and jogging over to his new car.

I smile and wave goodbye.

Once he disappears down the street, I take out my phone and dial Ashlynn's number.

"Hello?" Her raspy voice asked.

"I'm sorry did I wake you?" I asked feeling a little bad. "Willow? No of course, not I just need some water. What's up?" She asked.

I bite my lip and smile. "I was wondering if you would like to get your nails done with me?" I smile when I hear her squeal on the other side. "I would love to Willy," She said. "That's great can you come in an hour?" I asked looking at the time. "Yeah I might be there even sooner," She laughs. "I'll see you then," I said. "Bye Willow," She said. "Bye Ashlynn."

I hang up the phone and walk inside my house.

"Okay, Willow I'm leaving," Daddy said. He kisses my forehead before grabbing his keys and leaving. I walk where Carter and Levi were sitting on the couch. They were eating Cheetos and watching TLC. "I'm going to be leaving with a friend later on," I said leaning my chin on Carter's head.

"Okay I might not be here when you get back," He said looking up at me. "I'm going to the billing alley with Landon and Jullie and we might stop and get something to eat afterward," He said taking a sip from his beer. He looks over at Levi who was smiling at his phone. He hits him in the side making Levi jump in fright. "Oh yeah, I'm going on a movie date with Cindy. So I also probably might be gone."

I nod my head and check the time. "I'm going to go change," I said. Carter gives me a thumbs up before turning back to the tv.

I walk down the hallway to my room. I open my room door and walk over to the closet. I scratch my chin thinking about what should I wear to get my nails done. I wasn't going to be in the outfit for long since I already had a special outfit for Daire's birthday. I had bought the outfit a few days ago when I decided none of my outfits were good enough for Daire's special day.

I take out some clothes that were good enough for the hour.

I look over to my drawer and see the cake I made. I smile when I see that Daire had taken a slice of it. I walk over to it and take my own slice. I eat it as I watch a movie on my tablet.

"Willow," Levi said opening my bedroom door. I wipe my mouth and put my tablet down. "A girl is here for you," He said. I grab my bag off the floor and kiss his cheek. "Bye," I said jogging outside to Ashlynn's white Nissan.

"Hey," I said opening the passenger door. I frown when I see Cody sitting in the seat. "Hey, Willow I forgot I made plans with Cody a few days ago and I promise I wouldn't miss it." She said with a sorry expression. I tighten my grip on the door and bite my lip. "Oh, we can go another time," I said. "No no, we can still go, Cody, doesn't mind waiting for an hour or so," She looks at Cody who nods his head in confirmation.

I smile and shut the door and open the backseat.

We drive for about 30 minutes before we reach the nail salon. I happily jump out of the car and wait for Ashlynn near the door. Ashlynn laughs and walks hand in hand with Cody towards me. "I have no clue what type of nails I'm going to get." She mumbles as we walk inside the salon, the smell of nail polish hitting us instantly.

"Hi, do you have a schedule?" A chubby woman asked us with a smile as we walk up to her.

I shake my head and look around at the half-empty salon. She nods her head and taps her finger on the tablet. "Well lucky we have four free spots until 2oclock." She smiles at me. "Can I ask who's all getting their nails done today?" She asked. I smile and point to me and Ashlynn. "We are," I said. She nods. "Okay, go have a seat until we're ready for you two," She said pointing to the chairs near the window.

I smile and walk over to the seats. Ashlynn walks over to sit next to me with Cody following close behind me.

I play some games on my phone for the next 20 minutes.

"Um, I can take another client," A nail tech said as she cleans up her table. I look at Ashlynn and she smiles at me. "You go ahead," She said to me. I smile and stand up. I walk over to the lady shyly. I sit down in front of her and smile. "Goodmorning," She said. "Goodmorning," I said back to her. "Do you have anything in mind for today?" I shake my head and bite my lip. She nods her head and takes a good look at me. "I know the perfect nails for you," She said clapping her hand together.

I never had my nails done professionally so I didn't really know what to do. But the woman was nice enough to help me along the way. We even made friendly conversation. I come to know that she was a single mother of two children. And her oldest child was graduating kindergarten in a few months. And she also told me that she always wanted to be a nail tech artist since she was really good at art.

"Okay, Willow I am finally finished after what? Almost two hours." She chuckles.

I smile and gasp at the nails.

"Oh my god these are so cute," I said looking at my nails.

"Don't they fit you so well," She said pinching my cheek. "Ugh, they are so cute just like you," She said grasping her hands together. "Gosh, Ivy these are amazing," I said biting my lips. I couldn't take my eyes off my hands.

I look back and see Ashlynn getting her nails done as well. I look back at Ivy who was scrolling through her phone. "Thank you again, Ivy," I said. "Wait Willow let me get a quick picture for my Instagram page right quick," She said. I smile and nod my head and place my hands flat on the table.

After what seems like a thousand pictures she lets me go. I walk over to Cody who was looking through a magazine. I sit next to him and he smiles up at me.

After a few minutes, Ashlynn walks over to us. Cody instantly stands up and greets her with a large smile on his face. "Let me see," He said taking her hands. She blushes and shows her nails off to him. "These are so cute baby," He said kissing her hands. "Thank you, Cody." She said. She kisses his lips.

She walks over to me and shows her nails to me. "These are nice," I said. They were clear like with purple tips. "They are ombre." She said excitedly. I smile at her and look closely at her nails.

"Come on let's get you home," She said grabbing my hand and walking me outside her to her car.

"Bye," I said closing Ashlynn's door. She smiles at me and pokes her head out the window. "We should hang out more," She said before driving away.

I walk inside and be greeted by Betty with Daisy in her mouth. I gasp and snatch Daisy from her mouth. "Bad doggy," I said patting her head. She barks at me and walks away. I walk into my bedroom and open my closet. I grab the stuff that was hidden under piles of blankets. I didn't want Daire's birthday surprise to be ruined. I grab my outfit and picnic basket.

I get dressed and do my make-up lightly. I curled my long dark hair into beach waves. I grab my shoes and smile at myself in the mirror.

I walk outside and walk towards the park. I silently enjoy the lovely breeze that blows my dress. I bite my lip and smile when I see the picnic tables at the park.
