《His baby girl》10.

I sat in my last class of the day which was History class, taking notes as the teacher talked. I was busy writing when a boy next to me tap my shoulder.

"Willow right?" He whispers to me.

I look over at him and bite my lip as I nod. He smiles and leans over. "You don't mind if I borrow a highlighter?" He asked. I shake my head and open my rainbow pencil pouch. I take out a blue highlighter and hand it to him. "Thank you," He whispers and starts highlighting in his history book.

I knew the boy very little. This was the only class I had with him and I'm pretty sure he only recently moved here about two years ago. I think his name was, Lucas? Logan? Leo? Something like that I couldn't remember. He was on the school baseball team and he hung around with Amber and her friends. So I never bother to get to know the boy with wavy black hair.

I shake my head and continue to write in my notebook. I didn't pay much attention to him again for the rest of the class period.

The bell rings and I start packing my stuff. In the middle of zipping my bag, someone taps my shoulder. I turn around to see the boy that had borrowed my highlighter. He held the highlighter out in front of him. "Here," He said with a smile. "And thanks again." He said.

I stand up and take the highlighter from his hand. "Sure," I said.

He stands there with his hands in his pockets. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to Waffle house after school?" He asked looking at me through his long eyelashes that I was jealous of. I tighten my grip on my yellow backpack strap. "I'm sorry what was your name again?" I asked biting my lip. He chuckles and runs his hand through his dark hair. "It's Louis."

I nod at him. "Um, I'll have to ask my daddy," I said moving on one foot to another.

"Okay that's cool, but uh can I get your number so that I can get an answer?" He asked taking his phone out of his back pocket.

"Okay," I said handing him my phone that was decorated with cat pictures.

He smiles and types his number into my phone. He hands it back to me. "I'll see you later," He said walking out the now empty room.

I sigh and leave the room. I walk down the empty hall that only had a few students. I walk to my locker and open the metal door. I place all my stuff that I didn't and did need. I dropped one of my textbooks and it hit the floor with a loud bang. I bend down to pick it up but a hand decorated with rings beats me to it. "Bud, I need to ask you a favor," Daire said as he handed me back my textbook.

I smile at him encouraging him to continue. "I need a ride back to your place, I can't go back home," He said looking around. "I don't wanna be home with my brother because he comes home from rehab today and his wife is making him stay with us for a while. And me and him don't get along. He tried to kill me once when I was 11 and again last year before he went to rehab."

I stood there with shocked eyes. "Well I don't want you around him either," I said. "Levi and I are getting a ride from daddy before he leaves for work," I said grabbing onto Daire's wrist. "He's probably waiting for me." I dragged Daire out the door and in front of the school where I saw Levi waiting with Justina.

"Levi!" I call out picking up my pace.

"Willy, what took you so long?" He asked me with a smile, which soon faded when he saw who was behind me. "What the hell is he doing here," He said stepping in front of Justina as if he were trying to hide her.

"He needed a ride, I think he missed his bus," I lied. I knew he could tell I was lying because I would ball my fist whenever I lied about something. "He didn't miss his bus, don't lie for that idiot," He said glaring at Daire.

Daire rolls his eyes and takes a box of cigarettes out of his pocket. "I'm not in the mood to argue with you, Aburn," He said lighting the cigarette with a lighter. I move away from him slightly worrying about second-hand smoking.

Levi turns away from us and to Justina. He kisses her lips and whispers something to her. She replies in a hushed voice. Levi sighs and hands her a $10 dollar bill. She grins widely and kisses him on the cheek. She whispers something in his ear and Levi blushes. She smirks before giving him one last kiss.

"Bye-bye Willow, I'll see you around," She said. She waves to me and I wave back. She gives Levi a seductive look before walking away swaying her hips.

I turn to Daire who was already looking at me. He smirks and looks me over. "You look pretty today, Willow," He said.

I blush at his compliment. "Thank you, Daire," I smile and look him over. "You look pretty too," I said blushing hard.

I've been drooling over Daire all day. He didn't sit with me at lunch which meant I ate alone. In class, I kept glancing at him but he didn't look at me once. I thought he was ignoring me but I guess not since he was asking me this favor.

I stand there for a bit swinging back in forth on my legs. It was quite awkward since Levi and Daire kept giving each other death glares. Boy if looks could kill I'll have two dead men beside me. I tried to lighten the air with some corny jokes I had found on google but Daire didn't bat an eye and Levi just shooke his head at me. Wow, tough crowd.

Finally, daddy's silver car pulled into the somewhat empty driveway.

He beeps his horn when he sees us but I was already running over. I smile and wave at daddy and grins and waves back. I was about to open the door but a larger hand beats me to it.

Daire pulls open the door and holds it open as he looks at me. I blush as I slide into the car.

Levi sits in the passenger seat and Daire sat next to me. Daddy looks at Daire with raised eyebrows. "Hello?" He said in a questioning tone. I smile at daddy. "Can Daire stay over for a little bit, please?" I asked daddy. He runs his hands through his black hair that was greying. "I don't know Steph is there and you know how he is," Daddy said looking between me and Daire.

Daddy eventually sighs and turns away. "Fine but no longer than 11:00 tonight okay," He said looking at Daire through the review mirror.

Daire nods his head and looks out the window.

I smile and turn to play some games on my phone.

We stop in front of our trailer. Where Carter was sitting on the porch painting on his easel. He loved to paint he used to do it all the time with Mom when he was younger. He actually went to a performing art school. He was actually really good and painted some of self portraits of me tons of times.

I run over to him on the porch and lean over his shoulder. "What are you painting?" I asked him. He wipes the paint off his hands and smiles at me. "I'm painting Betty," He said. "She makes the perfect model." He bites his lip and starts painting his artwork.

"It's pretty," I said. He mumbles a thank you. I smile and look at Daire who was carrying both my bag and his.

I watch as daddy walks up the porch. "Daddy, I have to tell you something," I said. I bounce on my feet and tuck my black hair behind my ear. "Someone had asked me on the date to Waffle house and I was wondering if I could go?" I asked biting my lip and playing with my coat.

"Oh did they now?" He asked checking the mail.

I nod my head and follow him into the house. "Waffle house?" He asked looking at me. I nod my head again. "What's his name?" "Louis, Uh I don't remember his last name," I said.

"Timmons?" Daire asked. He was leaning on the door frame with a hatred look on his face. I frown at him then smile. "Yeah, that's it," I said turning to daddy. "Louis Timmons."

Daddy nods. "Okay, but be home around 10."

I smile but then it quickly fades when I look at Daire. "I can't go tonight I have to stay with Daire," I said playing with the silver of my nails. "That won't be fair to him," I said noticing the small smirk on Daire's face.

"Don't worry about Daire, I'll give him some work to do," Daddy said picking up his glasses. "He can help Carter and Steph on that dumb motorcycle Steph bought," He said.

"Do you like Motorcycles Daire?"

Daire shrugs his shoulders. "My mom's boyfriend used to let me ride his before he sold it," He said. "And I have a friend that has one and I ride it from time to time."

Daddy clasps his hand together. "Great, then I don't have to do it and Willow can go on her date."

I smile and look at Daire who was frowning hard. "You can't keep frowning like that Daire, you're gonna have wrinkles," I said crossing my arms. "Whatever," He mumbles before walking away towards my room. I follow behind trying to hold in giggles.
