《Hot Chocolate》chapter seventy-seven, treehouse.

"Mom? Hello?"

"Hey, honey, we're in the sitting room!"

I kicked off my shoes and headed straight in to find Bec and Mom sprawled across the sofa.

"Hey there, handsome, what have you been doing?"

Camila.

"Um... not much, I'll tell you about it over coffee, you want a cup?"

"Sure?" She looked confused and I think Becca understood because she giggled softly into a cushion.

I don't why I'm nervous, she's going to be happy, I think. I've just never told my Mom about a girl before.

I carried three mugs of coffee from the kitchen to the sitting room, sitting in the small gap between them. "What's up?"

"Nothing really." I played it down with a shrug. "I was actually on a date last night."

The words felt so alien coming out of my mouth and Mom gasped in excited.

"Really? What's her name? Where did you go? How was it?"

"Let him speak, Mom. Geez." Bec laughed, sitting up to listen to what I have to say.

"It was actually- uh..." I rubbed my forehead with a chuckle. Rip it off like a band-aid, Theo. "Camila."

And even louder gasp left her lips. "I knew it!" She practically screamed. "Sorry, sorry. Carry on, tell us everything!" She shook on my arm.

I briefed her through the dinner and told her that she's now my girlfriend, making sure to highlight that it's not a massive deal, and she can still treat Camila the same way she has done for the past few years. I also made sure to leave a massive hole in the story, keeping the hotel room part to myself.

"Go grab the champagne, Becks!" Mom laughing, hugging me. Though the situation felt awkward, I enjoyed being able to talk to them like this. To feel like a family again.

"I hear church bells!"

"Shut up!" I laughed with her, sipping my coffee to cover up my red cheeks.

I closed the front door behind me and counted one... two...

"You're home!" Zoe sprinted downstairs. "Spill! Now!"

I paused in my tracks and burst out laughing as I held up my hand to flash her my ring. "No. Freaking. Way! Cami!"

"It's actually not Cami anymore," I joked, "I'm Theo's girlfriend now."

She squeezed me in the tightest hug, "About goddamn time."

I talked Zoe through the dinner and dropped the fact that we stayed in the hotel, not elaborating on the story of last night. "They do really, really good hot chocolates."

"Hey, Cam." I jumped on my bed, rolling onto my stomach when I heard his voice through my phone.

"Hey. How's your Mom's?"

"Ecstatic. How's Zoe?"

"Delighted."

"Good."

"Good."

"How are you?"

"Happy. How are you?"

"Happier. What are you doing tomorrow?"

"You, hopefully." My pathetic joke earned me a soft giggle.

"How does dinner and a movie sound?"

"Perfect."

"I'll pick you up at 6?"

"Deal."

"Deal." We were both shy of words, but not in an awkward way. We've said what's needed to be said and now we can just indulge in the silence.

"Mom's shouting me, I've got to go. See you later?"

"Yeah, bye, Theo."

"Bye, babe."

I clung my phone to my chest, finally understanding why girls in movies scream in pillows and dance around their rooms.

I love him.

God, it sounds stupid but I finally get it. Even though the feeling isn't new, it's heightened due to the fact that we now both share and express it.

I made love with him.

I slapped a hand over my face. I never really thought it through until now. That's what it feels like? Did it feel that good for him too?

I never want to stop loving him.

Is that physically possible? I can't remember the last time I went a full day without seeing or thinking about him. Though the chase is over, I now have to try to make sure things don't change. I can't ever lose him.

"Cam, I'm ordering pizza!" Zoe shouted.

"Pepperoni!" I replied, rolling off my bed.

I got changed out of Theo's clothes he gave me this morning, and put on one of my own oversized tees and sweatpants.

I came downstairs to find Zoe sprawled across the couch, as per usual.

"I ordered extra so you can invite Theodore over." She smirked.

I rolled my eyes jokingly, "Thank you."

I opened my phone and texted him *ordered pizza...?*

*omw*

"So... did it hurt?" Zo asked me.

"That sounds like the intro to a bad pick up line." I laughed as I pushed her feet off the couch and joined her.

"I meant did it hurt when he fucked the shit out of you last night." She casually took a sip out of her glass.

"Zo!" I threw a pillow at her.

"What, I'm just saying. You've got the after-sex glow."

"Shut up." I groaned with a smile. Thankfully, I didn't have to answer her. I was saved by the door-bell.

"I got it."

"Order for Zoe Young?" He read off a sheet.

"Yep that's us." I handed the pizza delivery guy thirty dollars, taking the cardboard boxes out of his hand in exchange.

"Thanks-" He looked up, catching eyes with me and dropping the conversation. "Um-"

I didn't even notice he was checking me out until he visibly looked me up and down.

"Is that all-"

"Hey, babe." Theo practically sprinted up the porch. He made point to stand next to the delivery guy, showing off his height, before stepping into the doorway and standing beside me, his arm around my lower back.

"Can I take that?" He gestured to the boxes in my hands.

"No, it's ok-" I turned to the stranger still stood in front of us. "Is that all?"

"Um, yeah. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Theo smiled a large grin.

We stayed stood in the doorway for a second while he leant down to kiss me, taking the boxes from my hand.

"Everything ok?" I asked, playing oblivious even though I know well that that was Theodore being jealous.

"He was so checking you out." He whispered onto my lips.

"I didn't notice, I was hardly looking at him."

"Good."

"Hey, Theo."

"Hey, Zoe."

We walked into the kitchen. He looked at the sides of the boxes before handing one of them to Zoe.

I noticed the way her eyes darted to both of us and realised it the first time she's seen us as an actual couple.

"We might eat upstairs, if that's okay?"

I asked Zoe, not because I need permission to have him in my room, just to see if she minds eating by herself.

"Go ahead." She smiled, which slowly formed into a smirk.

I led the way to my room, not stopping when I reached the bed. I made my way to the window, opening it as wide as possible.

I gestured to the window, offering for him to climb through.

"Ladies first." He said, making me roll my eyes before climbing through the glass and onto the wooden decks of our tree house. It's slightly unstable, which is worrying but we choose to ignore it.

Once I had moved out of the way, he followed me, struggling to balance his foot on the window ledge while only having one free hand.

"Will you at least take the box off me so I can get in?"

"I'll take it off you but there's no saying I'll give it back."

I took the box from his hand, opening it to be hit with the delicious smell.

Once both our legs dangled from the tree, I placed the pizza between ourselves, kindly sharing with him.

"So, what movie are we seeing tomorrow?"

"It's a surprise, obviously."

"Dinner before or after the movie?"

"After, so you can talk all about the movie over dinner."

"What should I wear?"

"Something comfortable, whatever you normally wear to a cinema. Is that all the questions?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"Good." He smiled, taking a bit from a slice.

Though the sun was going down, it was still light enough to see his profile clearly.

"What are you staring at?" He chuckled when he noticed.

"I'm staring at my boyfriend, do you have a problem with that?"

My answer left a grin across his face. "Not complaining, just stating."

We ate our pizza and laughed until the sun went down. When a breeze joined us, we wrapped ourselves in blankets and huddled closer. I keep getting this feeling, this gut feeling, that something absolutely awful is going to happen, because everything in life is going so good right now. So perfectly.

But it doesn't. We stay like this all night, and nothing bad happens.

The treehouse creaks when Theo reached up to point at a shooting star, but it doesn't break.

We went to sleep in my bed and once again he told me he loves me, and held me in his arms until I fell asleep.

I woke up, but not from a dream. I woke up in reality, still clung to his chest. 'good morning, baby', he groaned with a smile.

We went to school on Monday, side by side. I explained the mayhem that was last week to the principal, and managed to sweet talk her into giving Theodore a week of detention, instead of suspension, which was passed to both Joey and Matthew.

I still feel like I hit the climax of my life, and now I'm just waiting for it to fall back into shit, but it doesn't.

And God, I hope it never does.
